Hey Everyone,

Well I made it, even with all of the trouble I had last week.   I was able to make it to Adventure Con and meet Corey Feldman for a few minutes.  Here's a short review, there wasn't much to this convention (no panels).  Though I will be putting up pictures when I get home.

PG and I got to the convention in the afternoon.  I went straight to Corey's line for his autograph and waited in line.  I thought it was going to be $20 an autograph, though when I got up to him I learned that it's $15 on your own stuff.   Corey did mention that he usually charges more on collectables and I confirmed to him that I'm not getting stuff signed to sell and even mentioned I perfer it personalized.   So he was going through the stuff signing things to me.

I asked him what he thinks of the Turtles, though I got more of a reaction of how he didn't really know anything about TMNT before doing the movies.  He also mentioned that there's been rumor about him being a voice for TMNT 4, though it's not true.  I think he was shocked that I never heard that rumor.  Though if anyone did, Corey is not a voice for TMNT 4!  Wink  He was a bit surprised to come to the cover of the TMNT 3 movie script in my pile of things to be signed.  He said that was cool to have, I than told him about my Turtle Heads I have, and he seemed really shocked to hear about that.   After he signed all of that, I had him sign on my T-Shirt at first he was like there's no room, but I pointed out that there's still room on the sleeve.  So the left sleeve is signed by Corey now.  Happy/Smile   I did end up spending $90 in autographs.

I got one of the people in line to take a picture of me with Corey, and I really like how the picture came out.  That will be one of the pictures that I'll post.   Though sadly Jaffa wasn't with me that day, he was left in the bug.  So he did not get his picture with Corey  Sad/Down  (SORRY JAFFA!!!)    I gave Corey a flyer for Turtle Con 2009 and also gave him a print up of that picture I made for him to sign.  Happy/Smile   He seemed interested in Turtle Con 2009, and had me talk to a lady there who helped bring in the guest for this convention so I gave her my last flyer for Turtle Con and wrote my email address on it for her.  Maybe she'll be able to help Turtle Con even more so.

Because we took out a loan for fixing the car and because I had a LOT left in that loan after the car repair I had money to spend at the con... so spend I did.  I got two new T-Shirts (One is a double of a shirt I already have, but I do like to double up on my favorite shirts).   I got a Mikey toy that isn't offical, and a few other things here and there.  I took a total of $280 out of the bank that day, and all of it was spent so with $90 going into autographs $190 went into getting things around the conventions, most of which are things I already have so they'll be used as prizes at Turtle Con 2009 (Original movie 1 cards still in package, the old TMNT coloring books, TMNT lunch bagies and more).   This convention was FILLED with Turtle stuff it was amazing how much you could find.  They had TMNT out of package, TMNT toys in package, animation cels, trash cans, gaint figures... I think the most rear item I found and got was the April O'Neil watches!!!!   For only $2!!!!   Talk about a find!  Happy/Smile

Both PG and I also bought some swords, which I will get pictures of to post.   They had sets on sale for $60, though if both of us bought a set he'd give us the deal of 2 sets for $100 so we each would save $10.   So we did that.  I can't wait to take pictures of everything.

After walking around a bit, PG and I went out and got lunch at a pub, I got a Bacon Cheeseburger.   Than we went back to the con, we hung out till near closing than had to carry a LOT of stuff back to the car and headed back to her place.

Sunday: (Today)

We got kind of a late start, even though we were all up early.  I was dragging my feet a bit, I amit it.  I was looking around online at stuff, I really do enjoy the internet and haven't got to do much of it lately.   Than we did breakfast, after breakfast we headed to the convention.

We got there, I brought Jaffa in hopes to get a picture with Corey, but he wasn't there with how late we got in today.  I only took $80 to spend this time. I walked around and bought a few items here and there.  The two cool finds of the day was TMNT roller skates mint in box from 1990 and a Shredder and Baxter (as human) animation cell.   I bought a few other things, but not as much TMNT stuff.   A lot of the Turtle stuff at that con did not leave with me, so I'm sure they'll be back at other conventions.  When Turtle Con is more set in stone I'll like to go back to that con and pass out real flyers to the dealers.  I'd love to see some of this stuff up in our dealer room!

It was a short day and mainly spent shopping.  I talked with people here and there, and than we left heading back here.  So as I said there wasn't much to write about for this convention but it was a nice one for shopping.

I can't wait to share some of the pictures from this long trip.  Of course there's not many from this con, most were taken in line waiting for Corey than there's the picture of me with Corey.  These pictures will hopefully be here sometime next week.

Well, one of the very few cons I'm doing this year. Mainly did this one because its close to home and cheap. There were not many things going on other than the dealers area and the cool models/replicas of R2-D2 and the DeLorean.  It looks like this con use to be better, according  to the pictures of the past, with guests and such... but, I suppose it doesn't draw enough of a crowd. I may go back next year though, just to pick up stuff.

I was amazed at some of the items the dealers had. A lot of good deals on old toys that are sometimes hard to get. For example, I picked up the Ares 12" figure from the Xena show for $10. Ebay has a couple (first time in a while) for twice as much, if you include shipping. Also picked up a Marvel Girl (Jean Grey/Phoenix) from the X-Factor line. Couldn't even find it on Ebay. Then of course the a few of the Marvel Legends I've been missing from the Giant Man line, and I also got two shirts that are cool.  And as Ivey mentioned, a set of samuari swords. I've never owned any weapons before, so I'm excited about it... and the colors actually match my living room! Wink

So, overall, I give Adventure Con 2.5/5.

Even though, I do love Knoxville a little. How often do you have people throwing rose petals at your feet? Wink

Hehe face it you know you love those pedals!!!   It made the side walk all so softer to walk over.

And I know you loved the guy in the white van who winked after throwing them.  Wink

Posting photos here first... why here first?  Because... there's less to sort through.  Don't worry I will get the Anime Next 2006 photos up soon Wink

This is from the freeway driving towards the convention center.  The big thing with the ball on top is right next to the convention center, it's part of some world fair or something that wasn't open while we were there.  Would be cool to check out.

Next is a few pictures of Corey Feldman signing autographs for others in line in front of me.

And last picture of Corey I'm posting here is my favorite Wink

Corey and me, after he signed my stuff.  Very Happy/Big Grin

PG and I took a walk to get food, this was one of the views I liked while we were taking the walk.

While out we also passed this fountain, so I had to get a picture of it.

I also got PG to take a photo of me with the fountain.  Happy/Smile

And here's a picture from the car ride back:

A huge cross that was along side the express way.   Next to it though (if going the other way you'd see) is a sign that advertises an Adult store, which I found kind of funny to have near that big cross.

There was a Dinasour on the ride too, though I wasn't able to get a picture of it while driving... delayed reaction with the camera cost the picture.  Oh well... maybe another trip.  Happy/Smile

Any how those are the pictures of the con itself.  I'll show the loot pictures in another post.

These are pictures of the loot I got from Adventure Con, some of the pictures are of stuff I got from Walmart in KY in there too.

This is the bed covered in stuff from Adventure Con only.

Here's a conor of the bed, the TMNT box is Ninja Turtle roller skates never worn.

Here's some TMNT books I got from there.  (Most likely will be used as prizes at Turtle Con 2009 since I already have these, that or put up on Ebay to help raise funds for Turtle Con 2009, either way I got these for the convention).

Here again is the Turtle Roller skates, below them are hologram TMNT stickers.  These stickers may also be prizes at Turtle Con since I already have this set from back in the day.

This picture shows the stacks of old TMNT coloring books and the TMNT lunch bags that I got from the con.  Both of these are deff going to be used for Turtle Con 2009.  I think what we're going to do with the lunch bags is make grab bags for the first 100 people into the convention.  The coloring books are either going to be prizes or sold on ebay to raise money for the convention.  We'll see.

Here's some stuff I got myself, Baxter Stockman in package.  April O'Neil watches (I NEVER saw those before), A unoffical Turtle Toy, an animation cel with Baxter Stockman as human, and a few other things.  Happy/Smile

Some more stuff I bought... yeah the bed is covered.  The Gaint Raphael out of package is something I got to give to Matt Hill (Raphael's costume actor from TMNT 3).  I found a few t-shirts my size, and saw a few things that reminded me of my childhood I just had to get.  Happy/Smile

Here's the swords that I got.  I like my swords Happy/Smile

In this picture I tossed in things that weren't from the convention, but still from this trip.  Like the new TMNT beach towels from Walmart.  (Check them out, they're great and it's got Laird's art work on them!)

Here's another picture of the swords, which has more of the towels in the pictures as well.  Along with my Noid doll... man do I miss the Noid, he was such a fun character!! Happy/Smile

This picture is more of how the stuff normally was while I was at PG's, they were in bags or sitting around on the floor in the room.  Hehehe  It was only on the bed for the photo shoot, otherwise I slept on that bed.  Wink

I hope you guys enjoyed the pictures.  I didn't point everything out here of what's in what picture.  Though as you can tell by some of the stuff I said here, I am already starting to get ready for Turtle Con 2009.  Happy/Smile
