That's why I go to the San Diego Comic Con so much.  In the beginning, I went out of curiosity and for major shopping on comic-related items I had been looking for all over.  Now, it seems I go mostly to see my Internet friends and hang out with them!  Same applies to other conventions.  The material stuff doesn't matter as much as seeing familiar faces.  Happy/Smile

Odds are, some of the former fans have simply lost interest, but there are also some people who can be pressured into thinking they were too mature for still liking TMNT. Lets face it, we do live in a society where even being fascinated with graphic novels is considered geeky and nerdy. I'll never forget my friends Jenny and Chuck who used to razz on me for it.
