New York TMNT 4 Gathering

Hey everyone, seeing as how this is going to turn into different groups going different directions, I figured I'd throw out an post per a city that becomes an offical gathering.  So far NYC is confirmed as a meet up spot.  If you're planning to add another meet up spot please do so in the TMNT 4 Release Date Topic

This topic is for those who are going to NYC or are thinking about it (those with ?).  If you're thinking about it, or are going to go.  Please let us know in the TMNT 4 Release Date Topic and I'll add you on the list here.  This topic is mainly to help get this one of many meet ups for TMNT 4 in order with who's staying where, what threatre, and who's going.  What other stuff we'll like to do while in NYC and how long each of us are staying.

The first post will be updated often so please don't skip over it when checking this topic.  It'll say other events going on with this meet up, and which days the events will take place on.  Please Note If you're not there the day of the event mentioned in this topic, there's no promise of a repeat of the event.  So read the topic carefully when planning your flights, drives, hotels.. ect.

If there's a Midnight showing (aka the night of March 22th, going onto March 23rd) is anyone going to that as well as seeing it the next day with those who can't do the midnight showing?

Like I said Im hoping to go, it depends on if I can get a hotel room wiht someone or not.  If I can go ill gladly wear my PD costume again  lol

I was thinking about making a Casey costume in time for the movie... sense I want to have him for Animenext next year anyway but I am not certain... you can be sure that I will be decked out in Turtles gear if I don't dress up and Leo plushie will be attending with me as I never leave home without him  

As for the Midnight show.... If there is a midnight show I will 100% be there.... and would probably go again the next day.... any excuse to see Leo as soon and as much as possible!

I got my TMNT spring jacket, so despite the cold weather I'll be sure to wear it! I just hope I get to join you guys!

I *may* come to this if I can...I'm defiantely interested! I just don't know if I can come all the way up to NYC in March for this then AGAIN in June for Anime Next. We'll have to see how life and money are treating me. Even if I don't go meet up with you guys in NYC though, I'll defiantely be seeing it here at home Like I said, I'm interested, but we'll have to see.

Edit: Oh I just realized...with Katsucon in Feb and then this in March...and then having to go all the way back to NYC again in June...sadly chances are I won't be able to make it. I will still do my best and try though but....you guys have enough fun for me to if I can't come. *sighs* Money is such a pain, yes?.

If somehow I might be able to go, I am going to get a hotel room. I am willing to accomodate 2-3 others in the room to have with me to share if they'd like. I am going to try at all possible to get a hotel with an airport shuttle service, because I am sure like myself some will need transportation to get from and to the airport. Also close to the center of the city, around Times Square or so.

We shall see. I am really stressing the "if" on all this.

I am severely doubting I can go, but I want to talk to Crittle and see if we can't work something out.  My biggest issue would be transportation there from SC but if I were to manage that and could room with Crittle again or something else then it might make it a little easier.

We'll have to see.  I do really want to but as of right now I wouldn't even add me to this list yet, not even with a question mark.  I'll be that stealthy question mark... like a confused ninja.

Been looking around, and the best place I've found with good accomodations and a good price for them is the Best Western City View Inn in Long Island City. Yes, it may mean a bit of a trek into the heart of the city, two miles, but they provide courtesy shuttle service to the nearest subway station, and also to the airport. It's three miles from LaGaurdia. They have a free breakfast, and the rooms look very nice and spacious. It has a quaint, picturesque charm.

Let me know how anyone feels about it so I may seriously consider it as a solid choice.

I may be able to go but I will not be staying in NYC since I live only an hour away from the city.

Also FYI: Planet Hollywood no longer has Michelangelo up on the walls anymore.  They rotate various costumes and props...he was switched out.  That's the answer I got as of Tuesday, July 25th.  I was also told there is no guarentee that he will be back up in time for the movie.

Who thinks we should dress up as a character from the movie?
I'm not sure if I'd be able to.  Since I'm commuting, I probably wouldn't be able to.

I discussed it with my boyfriend and he thinks it's actually possible I could go.  I'm trying to talk him into making a week of it and the two of us going, he can just sort of "let me go" for a bit so I can geek out and not force him to be dragged into it.  I dunno though.

If I were to go I don't think I'd have lost enough weight to wear my 4Kids April costume, but if we seriously wanted to be geeky I could do 4Kids Casey... and FREEZE!     I'd say I'd be showing my TMNT pride with my tattoo but yeah once again I'D FREEZE!  (I will definitely do that if I'm here though.  It's still chilly in SC then but it never gets very cold here for very long.)

Is anyone driving from somewhere relatively close to SC?  I wouldn't be averse to taking a bus to someone and riding with them if necessary despite how I hate busses.

Oh and lastly, I hate to say it but I'm glad Mikey is down.  It really broke my heart to see him that way.  Do they FIX these things when they're not in rotation?

After taking a trip to NY last May I'm dying to go back - and I can't think of a better reason then the Turtles movie

I would really, really like to go. My two biggest roadblocks to going would be a) transportation and b) hotel room. My car is over 10 years old and would never make the trip to NYC (I won't even drive it to Toronto).

Therefore is anyone coming from/willing to make a side trip to southern Ontario and has room in their car for an extra Turtle?

If I do get to go I am most definitely bringing my Leonardo costume!

If I can go is someone out there willing to come to the airport to get me and drop me back off?  If my dental bills aren't too expensive I think I'll be willing to put off one of my dolls (which are more expensive than a plane ticket) in favor of this trip.  But I'd need to know someone could get me, drop me off and I'd have a place to stay.  Of course I'm willing to pay my share for the room and I can sleep on the floor just fine.     Just don't step on me!

(My boyfriend thinks I'm nuts for actually trying to work this out.)
