Oh, it's mutual over here, trust me--I don't want to have the whole city to myself for four days.  Not that there's anything BAD about being away from everything for four days (and in New York City, no less).  I was just hoping to get together with a lot of friends to share a moment like this.  I'd have thought that the first TMNT film in 14 years might be reason enough for people to save the date and nail down arrangements way in advance, but hey, life happens, I guess.

As to why I can't back out of my hotel: that's Priceline's rule.  You want a hotel room for a song, you'd better commit to it, or else it's hasta luego, dinero.

Honest truth?  Even if I'd known no one else was even planning on showing up, I'd still have wanted to be in New York that weekend.  It's just...that place, and that time.  I can't explain.

Well, if anyone wants to see it in Jersey, I'll be seeing it in the Clifton Commons.  A Theater with THX and Stadium seating.

Probably an 8PM showing on Friday.Unless, of course, there's a premier in NY.

Ok now I got some bad news...

there's a big big... BIG chance that I can't make it... and no it's not because I went to CA, I have the money to drive out there still.  Made sure to save that.  No... my big problem right now is my health.

I've been sick since Katuscon on, my throat has never gotten better.  It's been sore and swollen, first we thought it was because of the stone in the cheek... I take meds and that went down.  But the throat is still sore and it's over a week after being done with the meds.  Went to the doctors today, they checked it.  It's strep.

No this is not just a sore throat, I've been sick to the stomach, can't keep food down.  Major headaches, and just feeling out right nasty lately.  I had a lot of problems even on the trip to CA, my mother has problems as well.  So this hasn't been an easy month on us.   I would LOVE to see the movie in a theater in NYC... though if tomorrow I am feeling as I am today, I won't be able to leave on the drive.   Right now I feel like the sedation from my shot on Monday has not worn off yet... I'm drozy with a huge headache and feel as if I'm in a daze most of the time.  No way I'm going to drive while like this.

I won't know till tomorrow if I'm going to cancel or not.  I hope I don't have to, but if I do I'm sorry there is nothing I can do about my health.  I'm already on meds.

No need to call the theaters, it seems, since it looks right now like I'm the only person who's going to be seeing this in the city.  No one had replied to this thread for a couple of days, and frankly, with only 34 hours and counting until I'm wheels-up, I'm planning on going solo all weekend unless somebody says something on this thread before 9 PM tomorrow night.  Not what I'd had in mind originally, but there are worse fates, yes?

I'll get the showtimes from the local media: New York Post, Daily News, Sun, SOMEBODY's going to have movie listings with phone numbers.  If it does turn out to be just me, I doubt I'll need to call ahead to arrange for a party of one.

You guys will be missed...

Youre health is much more imporant!  Im sure everyone undersands.  I hope you feel better and soon!

Seeing as how I would have to be leaving right now, and I still feel like I've been hit by a train I'm afraid I won't be able to make it this weekend to NYC.

I still hope sometime before the movie is out of the theater to go down there to see it in the city.  But in the mean time, I'm afraid I'm going to have to say I won't be there this weekend.  Sorry everyone Sad/Down   I really really really really wish I could be there!
