Mess with the best, get bapped like the rest!

From the Mirage website:

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THE TMNT COMIC BOOK:
Unfortunately due to Peter Laird having to devote a tremendous amount of time to the TMNT movie project, we are forced to cancel Mirage Publishing's "TMNT" #29. As of today we plan to put the book on hiatus for eight months, which will give Peter time to complete his obligations to the film studio and afford him the opportunity to get the book back on schedule.

"Tales of the TMNT" and the trade paperbacks collecting "Tales" will not be affected and will continue on their normal release schedule.

I saw that, it's really disappointing cause I couldn't wait for the next comic.  Sad/Down

Though I do understand hope everything goes good for Mirage!

~Well, bummer in one way, but good to know the other books will be continuing. And I'm really glad to heara that Peter will be that closely involved in the film production. His work with the 4Kids writers has given us some of the best TMNT "stuff" out there in terms of plot and characterization.

Also (and I type this with some caution cuz I don't want any "spies" from Mirage to take this the wrong way) I hope that getting away from the TMNT book will give him a break and when he gets back to it maybe he can look at it with fresh eyes, and maybe a clearer sense of direction.

Cuz you know, all writers can use that now and then.... Angel

You have a good point there, GW. I for one am kind of interested in seeing what developes after this 8 month break in the series.

Well, it IS good to get a break every now and then. Happy/Smile

I haven't been collecting the comics at all, but I hate to hear this from fans who do. At least it's not cancelled forever!

I completely understand why they are doing this but it still makes me sad....

I was starting to finally get into the plot of the comic... oh well at least it isn't going away forever and I can still read Tales of Leonardo!

I also hope the break will be a good thing. Peter will hopefully come back to the comic with a fresh mind.

As for the Tales of Leo?
I still have not seen issue 1....
Okay out there, quit laughing!!

I tend to be accidental in my puns rather than skillfully masterfully prepared to fling them anytime anywhere like some of you.
Hm, so you just got your blind Leo issue? Maybe I shouldn't feel so bad then, although a few people already slipped to me what happens.
ahem

The bummer on waiting 8 months for the regular issue is of course having all the characters stuck at whatever point they are for that long. When he does start back up again, we're all going to have to completely reread the last bunch of issues to remember what the heck was going on.

I'm assuming that when #29 does come out, its going to be three or four times as long as the other issues, and cost at least twice as much. At least that's what I'm hoping, since I love Vol. 4 and that's what Pete said he'd do if he ever had to put the book on hold.

All I know for sure about this is, they got me wanting the movie stuff to come out even faster so we can get the comics going again.  I don't follow tales as much as I follow the normal series.

Man this is going to be a long wait, though I'll ride it out.

Im still waiting for some of the recent comics that I ordered from Mirage, so Ill guess I'll go slow on them , which by the way they're taking a little more than usual to arrive ...I hope it has nothing to do with whatever happening over there....

Slightly off-topic, but are there better trade paperbacks than "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Books I-IV" by First Publishing? I'm looking mainly to collect Eastmand and Laird work only.
