Hey everyone, seeing as how this is going to turn into different groups going different directions, I figured I'd throw out an post per a city that becomes an offical gathering.  So far Hollywood is confirmed as a meet up spot.  If you're planning to add another meet up spot please do so in the TMNT 4 Release Date Topic

This topic is for those who are going to Hollywood or are thinking about it (those with ?).  If you're thinking about it, or are going to go.  Please let us know in the TMNT 4 Release Date Topic and I'll add you on the list here.  This topic is mainly to help get this one of many meet ups for TMNT 4 in order with who's staying where, what threatre, and who's going.  What other stuff we'll like to do while in Hollywood and how long each of us are staying.

The first post will be updated often so please don't skip over it when checking this topic.  It'll say other events going on with this meet up, and which days the events will take place on.  Please Note If you're not there the day of the event mentioned in this topic, there's no promise of a repeat of the event.  So read the topic carefully when planning your flights, drives, hotels.. ect.

TMNT-L Members going:

Theater Recommended:
ArcLight

Hotels/Motels:
In this area we'll list nicks of people who are getting a hotel, their hotel and if they're looking for anyone else to join their room to help with cost.

Other Events on this trip:
Meet up for dinner

Crazy ideas that sound fun!:
Who thinks we should dress up as a character from the movie?
Who all are, if not dressing up, going to at least wear TMNT clothes?  (Shirts/Coats)
Any one going to bring their favorite TMNT plushie?
If there's a Midnight showing (aka the night of March 22th, going onto March 30th) is anyone going to that as well as seeing it the next day with those who can't do the midnight showing?

Let's make this an event we won't forget and have a total blast with it!  This is for ALL Ninja Turtle fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was trying to think of a movie theater that's very prestigous, something beyond average since this is a film that should be viewed the same way.  The experience of watching POTC2 at the El Capitan was truly phenomenal, unlike any movie experience I've ever had.  I'd love to watch TMNT with friends in a theater that we can all agree on.  So, if the ArcLight is not a good choice, I'd love to hear other opinions!

ME!!! MEMEMEMEME!!!

And I don't have to get a motel, as I live in So. Pasadena!

MEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEME!!!

*LONGS to watch a movie with fellow fans*

Oh, did I say ME???

Well-- I already said in a way earlier post that the Arclight is the best-- if it's shown there-- other then that, there is the Graumanns....

As for dressing up-- I have six t-shirts!  I have a Leo plushie!

Midnight show????

Wow!  I wonder.... I'd prolly have to take the next day off, as I will be still "in session" school-wise-- but what the hell!!!!

LOL!
Yep, I think this is the movie gathering I'll be coming to. Even if I have to drive ten- freakin' hours to get there. NY may be out of my price range for a one -day event.

OOOO!!!  I've got room, GW!  UNLESS you prefer to have luxuory in a really nice hotel/motel to staying for free in a cramped apartment with a crazy woman, her mother, a dog and 8 ninja cats (cause you NEVER see them!)!

LOL

Thank you! And I don't think a crazy women's mother, growly dogs and Ninja cats will be a problem. I've got all of those myself.  It'll be just like home..... Rolling Eyes

I was thinking about that, GW, all that driving, and tried to think of another location somewhere in the middle of the state, the loooooong state we have!  Beyond Hollywood is going four hours for me, but I feel bad you'd have to do TEN!  Same with any other folks in the Bay Area.  Flying might be better, and cheaper!  My flight from San Diego to San Francisco was like $90 believe it or not!  This was also 1999, many moons ago, so I probably just got lucky in ye olden days.

And I guess cynlee is in?  No need to answer.  Wink

I believe I could make it to a Hollywood gathering. I'm familiar with the area thanks to the Lord of the Rings events I attended there during Oscar times.
I saw The Two Towers at the Arclight, and it was an AWESOME theatre!!! A hair pricey, yes, buuut you get to pick exactly what seat you want. The seats are HUGE and spacious and the food there is amazing. There's no commercials, a dude personally intros the films.....The sound system is to die for! I had seen TTT 3 times by the time I saw it at the Arclight, and I heard things in it I had never heard before.
aaah heaven!
And it's cool looking outside at night with the funky lights and stuff.
They have the parking garage right there you get the ticket validated for.
There's some great restaurants including a English style pub not far from there that one can eat before the movie. And because you have an assigned seat for the movie at the Arclight, you don't need to line up hours before for a good seat. Just have to get the tickets early enough to have a seat selection.

I would like to vote against a midnight show.
I just prefer to be "fresh" and ready going into a movie.
And be able to hang out after the movie and TALK about it, not want to crawl off to die in bed exhausted.

As for costumes?
 LOL  LOL  LOL
As much as it would be great to dress up as Leo again, I am not sitting through a movie like that.
I might be willing to bring the head or something....

As for a place to stay....I could investigate a second cousin in Glendora, or a LotR friend I haven't heard from in a while in Covina. Don't know if Dawnatello would want to be involved and we could stay at her place? Or...Cynlee? If I brought a sleeping bag or something....?
Not like we don't have time to plan this.

LA is a 5+ hour drive for me from where I live.
And GW...IF it worked out we could go together and you wanted to, let me know. You could come crash at my place the day before we left/day you go home if you wanted. I have a couch you could crash on.
Again, not like we don't have time to plan this. heheheh

That might work well-- break up the drive. What day is the 30th anyway?

Once we know how many of us are going, as it gets close enough tickets go on sale, we'll get them ordered.
I'll try to get in touch with Simpetarwen, my LotR friend who's been a member of the Arclight, unless someone else in our bunch turns out to be a member, see if we can get early info, etc.

True, but would you wear Splinter and sit through the movie like that?
One is wearing a full body suit and a shell as the Turtles, yes I survived San D Con for nearly 5 hours in that without tooooo much grief, but I'd like to be able to enjoy the movie in those nice comfy seats.

Probably the middle of the week?
But then all of us that would be going to this would pick our day and time we want. It doesn't have to be the very first showing if we don't want that time/day. (Like midnight.)
Obviously we won't know this until it gets closer. And we'd have to be sure the Arclight will have TMNT, but I would presume it to be very likely.
It would also be beneficial to check on what else will be going on in Hollywood that weekend.
The Oscars should be over by then, right?
And are there any other major blockbusters opening that weekend? Because on occasion they have special premieres held at the Arclight. Anything in that area of LA is *always* a crazy time, but if there's EVENTS going on, we'll want to know. Be ninja, be prepared.

True the first time you see the movie, don't wear full costume.  Though sometime you might want to try it, it really is one of the best feelings... esp if you know the movie already.   I can always think back to the one time I did get to do this, and wore my costume to see TMNT 3... the kids were so excited to sit around me.  It was a total blast.

It is highly recommended at some point and time, if you get the chance Wink

Leonardo!!!  You both can stay!  I will fit you in!  This apartment is small but serviceable!

OOOOO!  YES!  We MUST be able to linger somewhere afterwards and discuss the film, even if *bites tongue* it's not good--

Very Happy/Big Grin:D:D:D!

So, I'd better get busy and get ready!  I've only got nine months to prepare!
