Bloomington, MN TMNT 4 Gathering

Hey everyone, seeing as how this is going to turn into different groups going different directions, I figured I'd throw out an post per a city that becomes an offical gathering.  So far Bloomington, MN is confirmed as a meet up spot.  If you're planning to add another meet up spot please do so in the TMNT 4 Release Date Topic

This topic is for those who are going to Bloomington, MN or are thinking about it (those with ?).  If you're thinking about it, or are going to go.  Please let us know in the TMNT 4 Release Date Topic and I'll add you on the list here.  This topic is mainly to help get this one of many meet ups for TMNT 4 in order with who's staying where, what threatre, and who's going.  What other stuff we'll like to do while in Bloomington, MN and how long each of us are staying.

The first post will be updated often so please don't skip over it when checking this topic.  It'll say other events going on with this meet up, and which days the events will take place on.  Please Note If you're not there the day of the event mentioned in this topic, there's no promise of a repeat of the event.  So read the topic carefully when planning your flights, drives, hotels.. ect.

I'm really really hoping I can go. I can't promise a thing right now with the wedding coming up. This will be 2-3 months before the wedding and I'm fairly certain things are going to be insane at that time. I've been ahead of myself in the wedding planning and really on top of things, but who knows if the proverbial crud is going to happen and screw me up, so I'm keeping my options open just in case.

If I can, I will definitely try to be there, I just can't make promises right now. January-Febuary, I can probably judge it better, but now is not a good time to be asking if I can go to any meet-ups. If I can't, I hope the little theater here in town will show it so I can at least see it.

I know the MOA does have a huge theater and so it will have a better chance of showing the movie than mine will. I don't know the name of it, unfortunately. It used to be General Cinema when it first opened, but I know it's since become some other theater. I so rarely go to it that I don't know what the name is. But there's only one theater in the entire Mall, so, lol, it won't be that hard to find.

I do know of a few hotels in the immediate area of the MOA, but I warn you, they are going to be a bit on the spendy side since the MOA is MN's tourist trap. There is one by the name of the Thunderbird less than two blocks away. I don't know what chain it's under. Used to be Best Western, then Howard Johnson, now I think it may have changed again. My family and I used to stay there a lot, but the prices went up to around $120 or more a night, so we don't stay there anymore.

I think there's a Holiday Inn Express there, a Microtell, Hampton, lots of hotels. Between the MOA and the airport, there's lots of hotels. Probably would suggest doing a hotel search on the MOA and it should list what's close and how much they cost. It's been so long since I regularly stayed in the immediate MOA area that I don't know anymore. They've also been doing airport extension and renovation, so there were some hotels that are gone now in that area.

A dinner meet up would be good. There's lots of places in the Mall. The bigger sit down places are probably fairly spendy, but there's lots of good fast food places. They're a bit overpriced, it's a tourist trap after all, but they're not as bad as the sit down places. Uh, if I think about it or go up there sometime between now and then, I can probably think of other good places to eat in the Cities that'd be better. Been awhile since I've been to the Mall, period, so my memory's a bit hazy as to what's where.

I don't know about any dressing up. I probably won't. I have one costume and it's not TMNT-related and I won't have money for it and I'm not all that great at costumes anyways. But I'll still wear TMNT clothes, I've got plenty of shirts and jackets and the like. Dunno about plushies, I'll think about that closer to the movie date. I can give a general idea of what I can try to do if I'm able to go, but little else.

I don't know about midnight showings. Probably not because it'd mean staying overnight and that close to the wedding, I can't afford it. It'd be an up and back trip for me, arriving in the morning, doing a matinee, then going back home. I'd like to, never have done a midnight movie, but that'll probably be out of the question on account of lodging and foodstuffs.

I'll keep everyone posted about if I even go the closer I get to the release date. This is what I can roughly plan for right now, but that could change easily between now and March.
