Ugh...I'm so not liking how this is all turning out. There were a couple of cute moments, but otherwise...it's turning into a collosal dissapointment. I'm sure there're those who like it, but I'm swiftly losing faith in the creative team behind the show. Again, though...this is only the second ep, maybe they'll regain some of the quality of the past seasons.

So far, I've got mixed opinions. It's not as good as previous years, but it's still light years ahead of most of the drek on tv these days (heh, it'll have to really drop in quality to be as bad as, say, the Cramp Twins, Ultimate Muscle or One Piece ). I suppose it all depends on what one compares it to, right? Cody's split doing the hero/victim bit...he's been more of a victim his ep, but he did save the day once. They're not throwing him into the "Carter" role just yet, which is good (but, as Mo said, it's only the 2nd episode). Although, the "It's Ninja Time" and any other cute catch phrases have got to go.... Maybe 7.5-8.0 out of 10...

(heh, it'll have to really drop in quality to be as bad as, say, the Cramp Twins, Ultimate Muscle or One Piece ). They would need to do some seriouse work to get that bad, yeah...but it still smells like "sell out" to me...I'll still be watching it, but I dunno for how much longer.

Well, I'm disappointed in that the kid didn't seem to register what those flying guys said-- and I am hoping that they show up again, perhaps as allies to the Turtles.
There were -- gad, hold on-- had to shut off KIRBY OMG-- anyway, there were parts that will still keep me watching. I've not lost total hope.
But it still feels like a completely different series from the past four years.
I'll be generous and give it an 8 out of 10.

I'll just paste what I have on LJ..
This episode wasn't NEARLY as good as last weekend but it was alright.
One thing...Cody's uncle..reminds me of Hun *laughs* Is his name Darius Dun?? As soon as I saw him, I was like "*blinks* Hun???" If that's true..then is it his REAL uncle because Hun wasn't related to april and casey."
Also like Jade told me where all the Purple Dragons stuff is if he's Casey great grandson?
Another thing the whole beginning SO RED SKY! With the portal and trying to get home...like how Carter was having them strap to stuff to get them cured from their mutations...just here they are strapped in to try to go home...BAD BAD sign! *shudders*
What the shell did Mikey and Don do to Surly when they carried him off?
The whole thing about the gizmo making things into other stuff..and how they all had to look at Don to explain it to them *laughs* That was CUTE!
If Darius Dun can use Surly's eyes to monitor, can't he like control him too? If so, then Surly wouldn't give them the hint about the tracking device to try to find Cody.
Also "overcompensate much" with Mikey that was funny!!
Also Dun's car...it's like the same as Hun's O_o...
That's about it!

Did anyone think that Splinter was out of character or was it just me? I mean, I don't think Splinter would join in with the guys (even if it is just for morning practice) in trashing someone's apartment. Granted, the whole "Michelangelo should have seen that coming" thing was amusing but I seriously don't think Splinter would be that disrespectful to do such a thing. I could have seen him doing something along the lines of having the guys move everything out of the way so they could practice, not trash everything in sight just to annoy Serling.
I'm also in agreemet with the idea of Cody's uncle looking a lot like Hun but maybe it's a case of "his parents are dead and Hun's son became friends with April and Casey's kid so therefore, the idea of the 'uncle' comes into the scene." *sees the weird stares* Okay, maybe not but it's still possible. Speaking of Cody's parents, have I missed something here? Where are or what happened to Cody's parents? Are they dead? Were they kidnapped and taken into slavery or what? Sorry, this is just something that's bothering me.
There's just too much that's getting to me with this series. I know that in a new series, the first few episodes are never that great but the show isn't remotely interesting me. If it weren't for the fact that it's TMNT, I think I would have been complaining that they took off something as great as TMNT for this junk. I'm still trying to give it a chance but it's failing each chance I get quickly and I'm not even trying to be that critical. I mean, I could bring up so much more but I'm trying to be someone positive about the series which is hard for me to do at the moment.
I really wish they would bring back the old series or "TMNT Retro" as 4Kids has it labled as.

I honestly dont really mind FF..I actually like Don in this and I am enjoying it thus far! Also I think maybe cody's parents were killed when Cody was young and perhaps that guy who is a descendant of Hun took over..maybe Cody's dad knew him or worked with him and perhaps he told Cody he was his uncle or something? Also this pic I made is the uncle's car...look familiar? Remember Hun's ride in Hun on the Run?

Maybe Hun and Karai got bizzy and their descendant had a kid, who had a kid... and Darius Dun is technically Shredder's "grandson"-- cause he poised in front of Shredder's armor, and I think he looks a bit more like "Saki" than "Hun"-- but still...

No I honestly do not see Hun and Karai together at all. I think they basically hate each other. I think they are more like brother sister like thing. Karai is Saki's daughter and Hun basically served Saki. I think Hun at first was just in denial and lost. I also see that Karai practically loathes Hun like he's not worth it to her.
But enough about them *laughs* I don't want to start a tangent!
BTW, Sam saw Episode 2 of FF and he liked it!:)

While it's possible that Darius could be related to Hun, I see it as no more than a cooincidence. Darius was possibly once married to a sibling of Cody's mother, which makes the Dunns in-laws of the Jones-O'Niel family.
BTW, Kazari, I'm glad you're enjoying Donatello so much in this show because I've been feeling the same way!

I agree, Don's got a better part in Fast Forward. Other than that, I'm not finding much good about it.
I still want to know though, is it just me or did anyone else think Splinter was a LITTLE too out of character here? I still don't see him being disrespectful enough to trash someone's home, regardless of whether it was for practice or not. Could someone please tell me if it was just me?

You've got a point there. Even if Cody was okay with it, it's hard to imagine Splinter allowing the TMNT to be so destructive indoors.

Now that our message board "Hun" gave me the recording.... (which reminds me we should rant about the slow speed of getting the eps out on DVD!!!)
Anyway....the new ep? Liked it, didn't love it. There were some very good moments. Mikey in his armor! And the comments already mentioned, I was laughing.
But then there was stuff that I went...<sigh>
There's always the possiblity that Cody's uncle adopted him in some way? Faked the relationship? Or something really wacky happened at some point.... Hard to say, but I agree with some of the Hun comparisons. And clearly he's a baad dude.
I will give it a few more eps, even though we get one more for now? Then have to wait until fall? I don't think it will totally suck, but I don't think it's going to be the best, either. Which is disappointing, because if it does turn out to be the end, it's not the best way to end what's been a very good series on the whole.
