Here's something to ponder about. For 1 million dollars, would you give up TMNT for one year? That includes watching the cartoon (old or new), the movies, wearing clothing, buying the toys, reading books, listening to the music, visiting the forums, visiting message boards, visiting fan web sites, drawing art, reading fan fiction, talking about it to friends, and going to conventions with TMNT guests/friends. Basically, could you give it up entirely for one full year? It would be extremely hard, but for one year, I think I could do it.

I honestly think I would lose my mind to stress without this fandom to come home and relax to. I would miss all my friends and watching the show and reading the comics.... I just don't think I could do it for any amount of money.... because I would be rich but so unhappy.... it wouldn't really matter.

I agree with Mibu. The Turtles are my escape. They, and Leo especially, make everything in my day brighter. No amount of money in the world could convince me to give them up for any period of time.

I also have to agree with Mibu and LM. TMNT has always been my sanity lol Life just wouldn't be the same without the guys.

There's no way on earth I could ever give up the guys for a year, no matter the amount of money. They're too much a part of my life. So I agree with the others. There are some things in life worth more than money.

Seeing that I NEED the money right now... No, I don't think I could or would do that. I like too many people from the TMNT fandom and I always like to see what the boys get themselves into next.

Hah, OK, I'll be the unpopular one here.... Yes, I'd sell out and give up TMNT for a year for a million dollars. I definitely would miss the turtles a lot.... A LOT... but I have my other obsession -- hockey -- to fall back on, and once the year is up, I can enjoy TMNT as much as I want. I could retire if I really wanted to, so I'd have all the time in the world to devote to TMNT fandom, and I'd have the money to buy any TMNT stuff I wanted... well, except of course for TMNT itself.
I definitely understand the sentiment of those who say no way though. Losing something you love for a long period is torture.
...
So, if someone who has a TMNT tattoo agrees to give the turtles up for a year, does he/she have to have his/her tattoo removed too?

I dunno if I could, because I have my TMNT fan fiction that I work on 24-7; not to mention I'm on like this forum, Mikey's and about 6 or more TMNT groups on MySpace!

If someone's offering...I'll take the challenge! I think I could do this easily, though I'm not as active a fan as many here. It would be hard for me not to watch the show for a year though. The comics I can't afford anyway and I usually catch up with them once a year at conventions... A million dollars though? A MILLION DOLLARS? You could buy all of Kevin Eastman's original art for that! Not to mention a house or six.

Not a chance. I could easily spend an entire year obsessing over my beloved Washington Capitals and ignoring TMNT, and a million bucks is a million bucks, but...no. Make it a billion, and I might think about it for a second. But for a paltry seven figures, no, nyet, nah, nope, nein, and no way, Jose.

I don't believe I'd want to go through with something that requires me to stop doing something that doesn't earn money as opposed to doing something that may earn it...

I don't believe at all in having to give up something that doesn't hurt anyone else around you... for money or any other reason. If something makes you happy, and no one is being hurt... than you should be allowed to enjoy that part of your life with nothing comeing between you and it.
I think for someone to even make up an offer like that is just a dirty blow, to say "give up what you care about and we'll do this for you" instead of doing that, they should go out there and go after the people who are doing things that would hurt others. "Give up this thing, because it hurts not just you but those around you... and we'll do this" makes a lot more sense to me.

For 1 million dollars, would you give up TMNT for one year?I could if it was just TMNT. There's enough Transformers stuff happening right now to keep me more than entertained. That, and RL stuff with the baby too, of course. If it were all geeky hobbies like TMNT, TF's, comics, watching anime... then yeah, that would be tough.. I need to have a little bit of geeky silliness in my boring life to keep me in good sprits. Unless... I could then take that money and travel the world for a year.. that would keep me plenty amused as travel is one of my fav non-geeky hobbies! But... a year isn't that long, I agree with Splintered. Neither is the time it takes to be pregnant (cause I had to not eat sushi, seafood high in mercury, undercooked meat, liquor, certain meds, etc) It can be done.

I'd have to say I'd do it and probably be able to. As horrible as it sounds, Fast Forward just isn't making me scream "what happens next?" and since that's the season we're in, I'd say I'd do it. Now Saiyuki...I'd just have to drive everyone crazy with Saiyuki talk. Besides, I've got all the DVDs but I don't have all the manga so YAY! SOMETHING I CAN DRIVE EVERYONE CRAZY WITH! *snickers* Times, I've also got Gundam Wing and Samurai Troopers (my two other loves).
Why would I do it? Well, let's face it, I'm a poor, in debt college student so why not try? Would make a good experiment though...I won't try it though since I don't have a good reason.
