there was someone on the drome who proved that raph got the least amount of focus...

the most interesting character gets the least amount, the writers were so blind. i doubt we'll get a raph focus story this season...

Okay, New part of this rant:

Another issue I have with Leonardo now is the new movie.  Was it me or did it SEVERELY LACK Donatello scenes?  Don is my second favorite and as I have made clear, I do LOVE Leonardo, but to me, it just seemed too much Leo and Raph.  Even the deleted scenes screamed "LEO AND RAPH" except for one where Mikey and Don are having a convo.  But again, Leo stole the spot light in the movie.
Who was gone and then suddenly came back and created drama?  Leo.  Who was the first to fight Karai?  Leo.  Who confronted Nightwatcher and learned it was Raph?  Leo.  Who got captured?  Leo.
Well, I just about summed up the movie with that spoiler content and I didn't even say a whole lot.  There are a few things that didn't get mentioned but those included another turtle or all of them.  Gee, do we see a name popping up too much in that movie?

I do agree with Fast Forward not showing much of Leo but that's fine with me.  He had just about all of the other seasons to himself and it co-starred Mikey.

I do like the balance that I've seen in Back to the Sewers.  It seems more balanced this time around and for once, we're not seeing Leo as a "devoted son".  We're FINALLY seeing Don in the "devoted son" spot.  It's Don whose working his shell off to get Splinter back.  I know that he had Fast Forward quite a bit to himself however, I don't mind it only because he's been the flattest of the turtles since day one.

I don't remember who said that Leo fits the mold for the stereo-typical super hero but I do agree, he does...however, in the real world, he's not.  Donatello would be the real super hero in the real world.  He'd be one who'd be trying to come up with new ways to find missing people, cure cancer (or whatever rare disease that you want to think about), etc.  I just wish Don was given more credit and more of a spot light.

As for Raph, more spot light on him wouldn't hurt either.  Raph may not be one of my top two favorites but I can honestly say that Raph does deserve what little spot light he gets.  He gets very few episodes where it's just him but he does get his moments every few episodes.  I know many would disagree but I don't find Raph that hard to write about.  Perhaps its just a matter of figuring out what's going on in his head.

So in short, It's good to see Leo go to the back ground for 2 seasons but now he's just gotta work on getting out of the spotlight on other medias.

PS: I put what the movie content in spoilers so I didn't get accused of spoiling the movie.

Aww, Don's not flat. He is the tranquil pond with hidden depths...  Donatello ... okay, yeah, he gets used as a plot device way too much.

Sorry, I didn't mean to exactly say that Don's flat but I guess what I should have said is that he's not as "well rounded" as his brothers are.  We all see Leo change, Raph changes, Mikey even changes here and there but Don's remained static.

I mean, how on earth could you watch your brothers die and not come back changed from it?  For those of you who aren't sure what I'm talking about, I'm refering to the episode "Same as it Never Was".  I can tell all of you that if I watched ANYONE in my family die whether it be in a dream or not, I'd be changed or at least effected in some way, shape or form.  Don came back and went back to normal right away.  That's what I'm saying by flat.

Such is the way of our beloved Donatello.  And there are many people that behave like him in situations like that, AristaNiara-san.

He did pretty much the same thing in Mirage's "Kirby and the Warp-Crystal" story featuring him.

But yes, too much Leo.  Too much Raph.  So be it.

If we get a next trip to the movies.......

   More Don.  More Mike. Wink

That's 'cause Don's already perfect.  LOL No, seriously - it's because important things happen to the other guys in the course of the main plotline, and so the effects of those experiences carry forward. But (at least before BttS) important things only seem to happen to Don in side-stories and alternate universes (Kirby, SAINW), and those episodes are never referenced again and so don't result in character growth.

Though I do have to agree that even those episodes should in the long run touch their personality and growth.  Just because they're not the main story line that we're following doesn't show affect in future episodes.

I would like to see some of that stuff affect them in more than one episode.
