On a dark and stormy night, when the waves crashed high... In a Lair far, far away... One night, after a battle where the TMNT kicked Hun's buns, Raph announced, "I'm hungry!" Leo feared for Raph, what if he got something that might involve twinkies and copious amounts of DC! "After you were so kind to offer me those ketchup chips recently *cough*, come over and get something to eat at my place." Hungry Raph agreed. "Would you like some fruit, Raph?" "This orange is from Australia! What if I eat it and it makes me do something weird like Shorebuck?" "Really, Raph! Then what about this? The plum is from California." "...." Hungry Raph gave that a thumbs down. So Leo took Raph to the fridge. (As opposed to THE Fridge. This is a Nardo fridge, there IS a difference.) "So what about some miso soup? I got some tofu and--" "Leo--what's that jar over there, fishy stuff?" "The daishi? That's for the miso soup, it's bonito flakes--" "Grr. And that umibushi stuff?" "Umeboshi. Pickled plums--it's great in rice as--" "Uh, okay...Raph, let's go check out the freezer. Maybe we'll find something you'd like to eat there." "uh...on second thought, forget the freezer." Leo ushered Raph away from the lovely calamari steaks, the salmon, and sword fish....over to something to try to calm Raph down. "Some tea, perhaps? There's this wonderful stuff from Leah Nardo from Hawaii...." "Leo...it's all green stuff. Don't you have any DC? No soda? Just an empty 7-UP can??" "Gomen nasai, bro." "Yeah, well, I'm still hungry!" Desperate to find *something* for Raph, and knowing Raph was irked, Leo sought the comfort food. "Here Raph, have a bag of chips." "Raph! Now refusing the miso and the seafood is one thing, but these are chips. Made out of potatoes, like Sam Gamgee would like. Not fisssh. Po-ta-toes." "But, they're....*tone of doom* Limon flavoUred." "Yes, Limon. I ate some of those Ketchup flavored chips...." "ooh, I can't believe I am going to do this." "Raph, don't be such a baby." *munch munch* "Raph!" "...." "Raph? Does this mean you're officially RaphDead16?" "AM NOT!" "Raph, you really are such a baby!!" THE END *No action figures were injured or poisoned during the photo shoots* *Raph did actually consume a Limon flavoUred potato chip, but whether he died or not may never be known* *Chibi Raph made a special appearance in honor of watching too much anime*

LOL!!
Ahh, that was worth the wait...well done, bro!
Do these Limon chips have any amount of salt with them? That might make 'em edible...just so long as they don't mutate one into a chibi version of themself.
Now...should I do another story.....? Hmmmmm......
Glad you got Raph away from all of that *shudder* seafood...

Actually, I realize this morning...I need one more line of text added to the end of the story! The final line should be Raph: "AM NOT!" Drat! ah well, that's what one gets for having to post one's story as "first draft". I just couldn't pass up using the toddler Turtle in the photo shoot. As for the Limon chips? Yes, they have salt. It's not like eating a sweet lemon flavor. Do you have the lime flavored tortilla chips, too? Those are great with salsa. Also, my fridge and freezer are not all seafood and stuff. But I had to do editing to include the stuff that would work for the story. Glad you enjoyed it. And I could see some ongoing battle of Raph and Leo about food.... Of course, what if Mike and Raph got involved in that, too? Mikey in particular with food could be enough to kill many stomachs. (The DRINK?!) Hm, then there's all our other TMNT-L characters....like a photo shoot of a trip through THE Fridge.... er....then again.

Leo: Yes, we have lime flavoured Tostitos, never tried them though. We've also got another flavour of chips that was a lime & salt combo (obviously, I'm sketchy on the details), which is why I wondered if yours had salt too. That could make them edible. Mike: No. The world, us, our cameras...nothing will ever make anything ever ready for THE DRINK! Aig: Glad I don't eat Angelo style pizzas and/or THE DRINK. Allows me to say I don't like sushi. Hmm...No! Mustn't think about story ideas now...mustn't....dursn't dare, no, I dursn't.....

Ah, yes, Raph. You're a meat and po-tay-toes sort of fellow, aren't you? But--- the Drink! Who can withstand such a thing? I quail at the thought of even gazing upon its roiling surface.

Um, actually, Aig, my avatar is an illustration from one of my stories. The 'poor defenseless' caiman (as in Central or South America) was inches away from making Leonardo his breakfast de jour. If not for Raphael jumping into the water when he did and playing hero, he would have had to vivisect the 'gator' to retrieve his brother - what was left of Leo, that is. So, it goes without saying that sometimes it's either you or it in the wild wild world of things.

*finally has the time to hunt down this infamous thread* Hee... poor Raph, he sounds like a few of my freinds with a not so internationally diverse pallate, after seeing what it is hubby and I eat. I think the flat dried squid we had once was the last call. The aromatic kimchi and dried, roasted seaweed just made them wrinkle their face. Or the seaweed soup (which I had to eat almost everyday during my maternity leave). Hee... But seafood is the best! (you should have had the shrimp flavored snacks to offered too, Leo!) *then blinks* Dude... I really must be out of it if I forgot just what The Drink is...

For shrimp chips, I would have to get to one of the stores that sells more specialized Asian foods, like maybe another trip up to Japantown in San Francisco. Possibly the Marina area stores I have been hearing about might have them. We used to have a really nice Asian food market here but it closed up when they kept jacking up the rent on them. Some of our area grocery stores carry some of the less unusual items (like pickled plums) but not things like shrimp chips usually. What's your fave brand? Poor Don...forgetting what the DRINK is. Considering I think that stuff started around the time of the visit to your place at the horse farm all those years ago. It was discussed again in Thread Killer, but good luck finding what page it was on. Bascially it's a Mikey Special of mixing together things that should not be together! Now imagine Don and Leo cooking up some Asian themed dinner together....poor Mike and Raph would probably starve that night. Although some of our TMNT-L members would be happy to be there for that!

But uhm, saying 'poor defenseless crocodile' is an indicator that I was kidding. Hence the row of

Um, even with my PC glasses, I had a hard time figuring out what your little icons were doing, Aig. Didn't catch the 'wink' until I brought my magnifying glass up to the monitor screen a moment ago. GAH, Menopausal Eyes, gotta make a song outta that one. Perfect title, eh? LOL Anyhew, yep, didn't know which way you were going with that comment, so I thought I'd err on the side of caution and explain thin's a bit. :0) Welp, just so you know and of course, I covet your prayers, our son is in Iraq. Been there all of two weeks, now. He's in Kirkuk, which is about 400 miles or so northeast from Baghdad, simliar distance as L.A. is from San Fran. Anyway, it's boring, so far, which is fine by us. He gets to call home each night, too. Seems they encourage this, to keep moral high and all - again, fine by us. LOL He's a reservist in the Air Force, Security Forces (basically, he's an MP), so - technically - they can't keep him there past six months, but - so far - everything that they've said won't happen, has happened. Well, anyhew, yep, that's what's going on with us. Y'all have a good day. Be blessed, Rene'

Your son in Iraq... agreed, I hope it is boring for him, in the best way possible. Have to laugh though, because I have the same trouble with small text online, as well. And extensive reading with a computer monitor as is, must be the lighting, or the blink rate, not sure, but the eyes kind of go Back on subject, I've never eaten gator, that I know of-- maybe as a kid, but maybe not. Anybody else eat it? Wouldn't put it past Raph to eat it for sure, especially if it threatened to eat his bro.

Yes, boring is good - if one is in Iraq! As for PC text, I just bought RX glasses for the PC, but the icons are still too tiny even with that. However, my eyes don't blur and burn and go fuzzy on me anymore when I read stories, so - at least it helps for something. And, writing, too, as well as my drawing. Really helps to have the right glasses. Amazing the details I was missing because I couldn't see clearly enough. Who would'a thought, eh? LOL As for eating gator, yes Raph didn't have a problem, but Mike's the one who had the hardest time of it. Kept thinking about Leatherhead and all and how he'd never look at his friend again in the same way. LOL Actually, so far in this story, Mike's been having one lousy time, poor guy. "I'm SO not enjoying this 'vacation'!" LOL Quite fun to write him that way, too. Anyhew, need to get before the say is gone. Be blessed, Rene'

Wow... whatta broad range of topics now.... Ah, I'm sorry to hear that your local Asian grocery closed up. Indy has a few small shops, but the largest (korean operated) one closest to us seems to be having trouble with business now too. They don't carry everything like they used too, and the prices are being jacked up. Of course, we would on occasion drive up to Chicago if we wanted a bigger selection with affordable prices. Hmm... I haven't been paying attention to the shrimp chip brands... I just get whatever the store had been carrying. Though, the snack I've been grabbing whenever we go now are the cooked, unshelled chestnuts for a buck. (by Tomei) ;d Hmm.. the Drink... I guess I must have avoided that. Carefully. Still remember our wacky pizza toppings, and the lumpia food fight PBM Dawn and I did. And... also hopes for the best for Rene's son in Iraq!

It's amazing what a topic of Hungry Raph can generate!!!! Best wishes for Rene's family! As for chestnuts-yummy! Had some in Japan, where they heat them up and serve them in bags. I also love the pancakes with the sweet red bean paste and chestnut filling. Raph might not like that stuff, either.
