For shrimp chips, I would have to get to one of the stores that sells more specialized Asian foods, like maybe another trip up to Japantown in San Francisco. Possibly the Marina area stores I have been hearing about might have them. We used to have a really nice Asian food market here but it closed up when they kept jacking up the rent on them. Some of our area grocery stores carry some of the less unusual items (like pickled plums) but not things like shrimp chips usually.
What's your fave brand?

Poor Don...forgetting what the DRINK is. Considering I think that stuff started around the time of the visit to your place at the horse farm all those years ago. It was discussed again in Thread Killer, but good luck finding what page it was on. Bascially it's a Mikey Special of mixing together things that should not be together!

Now imagine Don and Leo cooking up some Asian themed dinner together....poor Mike and Raph would probably starve that night. Although some of our TMNT-L members would be happy to be there for that!

Um, actually, Aig, my avatar is an illustration from one of my stories.  The 'poor defenseless' caiman (as in Central or South America) was inches away from making Leonardo his breakfast de jour.  If not for Raphael jumping into the water when he did and playing hero, he would have had to vivisect the 'gator' to retrieve his brother - what was left of Leo, that is.  So, it goes without saying that sometimes it's either you or it in the wild wild world of things.

I see! I figured it was from one of your stories.

But uhm, saying 'poor defenseless crocodile' is an indicator that I was kidding. Hence the row of

HEh.. as far as what is in the DRINK, I conveniently forgot what the ingredients are. No, no, it's okay, I don't need to know.  Razz

Um, even with my PC glasses, I had a hard time figuring out what your little icons were doing, Aig.  Didn't catch the 'wink' until I brought my magnifying glass up to the monitor screen a moment ago.  GAH, Menopausal Eyes, gotta make a song outta that one.  Perfect title, eh?  LOL

Anyhew, yep, didn't know which way you were going with that comment, so I thought I'd err on the side of caution and explain thin's a bit.  :0)

Welp, just so you know and of course, I covet your prayers, our son is in Iraq.  Been there all of two weeks, now.  He's in Kirkuk, which is about 400 miles or so northeast from Baghdad, simliar distance as L.A. is from San Fran.  Anyway, it's boring, so far, which is fine by us.  He gets to call home each night, too.  Seems they encourage this, to keep moral high and all - again, fine by us.  LOL  He's a reservist in the Air Force, Security Forces (basically, he's an MP), so - technically - they can't keep him there past six months, but - so far - everything that they've said won't happen, has happened.

Well, anyhew, yep, that's what's going on with us.

Y'all have a good day.   Embarassed

Be blessed,

Shocked Your son in Iraq... agreed, I hope it is boring for him, in the best way possible.

Have to laugh though, because I have the same trouble with small text online, as well. And extensive reading with a computer monitor as is, must be the lighting, or the blink rate, not sure, but the eyes kind of go  Cyclops  Cyclops  Cyclops

Back on subject, I've never eaten gator, that I know of-- maybe as a kid, but maybe not. Anybody else eat it?

Wouldn't put it past Raph to eat it for sure, especially if it threatened to eat his bro.  Very Happy/Big Grin

Yes, boring is good - if one is in Iraq!

As for PC text, I just bought RX glasses for the PC, but the icons are still too tiny even with that.  However, my eyes don't blur and burn and go fuzzy on me anymore when I read stories, so - at least it helps for something.  And, writing, too, as well as my drawing.  Really helps to have the right glasses.  Amazing the details I was missing because I couldn't see clearly enough.  Who would'a thought, eh?  LOL

As for eating gator, yes Raph didn't have a problem, but Mike's the one who had the hardest time of it.  Kept thinking about Leatherhead and all and how he'd never look at his friend again in the same way.  LOL  Actually, so far in this story, Mike's been having one lousy time, poor guy.  "I'm SO not enjoying this 'vacation'!"  LOL  Quite fun to write him that way, too.  Very Happy/Big Grin

Anyhew, need to get before the say is gone.

Be blessed,

Wow... whatta broad range of topics now....

Ah, I'm sorry to hear that your local Asian grocery closed up.  Indy has a few small shops, but the largest (korean operated) one closest to us seems to be having trouble with business now too.  They don't carry everything like they used too, and the prices are being jacked up.  Of course, we would on occasion drive up to Chicago if we wanted a bigger selection with affordable prices.

Hmm... I haven't been paying attention to the shrimp chip brands... I just get whatever the store had been carrying. Though, the snack I've been grabbing whenever we go now are the cooked, unshelled chestnuts for a buck.  (by Tomei)  ;d

Hmm.. the Drink...  I guess I must have avoided that. Carefully.  Happy/Smile (Anime Style)  Still remember our wacky pizza toppings, and the lumpia food fight PBM Dawn and I did.

And... also hopes for the best for Rene's son in Iraq!

It's amazing what a topic of Hungry Raph can generate!!!!
Best wishes for Rene's family!

As for chestnuts-yummy! Had some in Japan, where they heat them up and serve them in bags. I also love the pancakes with the sweet red bean paste and chestnut filling.
Raph might not like that stuff, either.  Razz
