Let's see....for all the Mac users out there(lmao, I wouldn't be surprised if I was the only one, but hey, I like standing out...

), I know of maybe two clients besides the one I've used since I joined the chat in late 96-97.
There's one out there called Athena. I actually have a copy on my computer as a backup should my usual program fail, but I've never had to, and I don't plan to use it unless I must.
I unfortunately don't know where to get it, it was put on my computer by one of the guys who fixed her up after she was down and nearly gone for good. I wasn't really happy, but I think he did it to mean well, and to give me a backup and show me that there were other IRC clients out there for Macs.
There's also one that I've heard of called Snak at I think
www.snak.com but I've never used it myself or even been to the page, and actually, I personally wouldn't recommend it. Tygra tried using it awhile ago, and it was very harfy for her. It's there if you want to try it, but it might be harfy and better to try Athena or....
The client I use, dubbed Ircle. Yeah. I know. Make all the Urkel jokes you want, I've heard 'em all over the years. I wasn't the one to originally pick this client, either. My cousin did, back in 96, and had a channel for awhile over on efnet(unrelated to TMNT, and I doubt it's even still there), so he was the one to originally put this client on the computer.
I'm not sure what version they're up to on Ircle since my system's so old, I'm as upgraded as I'm going to ever get, but you can check it out and get it at;
http://www.ircle.com/Last I checked, you get a free 30 day trial with it, then it'll kick you off every half hour until you pay and enter in the registration code, which was only $20 when I did it. After that, upgrades are free.
Very good program, I'd recommend it. The only trouble is, the colors used by mIRC users don't translate very well to Ircle, if at all. You can see colors compared to the original Ircle I used, which only let me connect to one server at a time and had no colors, but they don't translate with mIRC at all, I've tried.
They may have fixed that by now, I'm not sure, but at the time I got the program, heh, it still didn't work. Colors would be, say, blue on mIRC, and a painfully bright, blinding yellow for me. I've since given up getting it to work.

It also allows you to connect to ten servers at once. No, I've never done that many at once. Most I've done is about three servers at a time, but there is room for that many connections or clones.

I can answer most questions about Ircle since I've been using it for nearly ten years now, but as far as Athena and Snak go, I barely even know where to get them, let alone how they run. I just know that they're out there, so, up to you guys if you want to use one of them, but Ircle's the one I'd really recommend.
