Yes that's right, I'm going to flame being sick! IT STINKS!!!!!
I got home from my trip yesterday, and was well most of the afternoon, though in the evening time I started to get REALLY bad chills, headaches, stuffed up nose... and bam... I'm sick... very sick!
I hate being sick. I hate it when my friends are sick. And I hate the bills that people have to pay if they want to go to a doctor for something to help their cold!
I'm not the only one who came down sick this time... Shingami is also not doing to well. So blah to all illness out there.

Yea, it's sad how people just come down with an illness at the drop of a hat. Even the TMNT have been known to get sick. Just be sure to drink plenty of orange juice and eat some nice hot chicken noodle soup!

From bad to worse... I think this isn't just a cold... I think it's Strep. Most of the illness is focused around the throat... it's got sores all down the back of it, and is swollen. On top of that a stuffed up nose, which is causing a nasty cough. All in all, I feel like dirt today. Maybe I shouldn't have done my Volunteer work at Motor City Comic Con today... oy...

Oh noes.. now you made a whole buncha other people sick too, Ivey! j/k... Yeah, I'm not going well with the cold bug this year either, I hardly ever get sick. But that was Life Before Baby. Josh has had third cold so far, I've had a cold and something like bronchitis. I'm still coughing from time to time. To make certain if it's strep, is that the sore throat lasts for more than 3 days, and.."The first place to look for clues is inside your child's mouth. Are his tonsils swollen, bright red, flecked with white? These are the clearest and most common signatures of infection by the streptococcus bacteria. A fever above 101 degrees F, chills, and a noticeable swelling and soreness of the glands in the neck just under the jaw are also warning signs." Hopefully it's just a cold that you can recover from quickly, Ivey. Take it easy, eh? ...yes.. I happened to have a number of pediatrician websites bookmarked for my info too...

Good folk cure for strep, and pretty much any other throat illness:
Mixed in a mug...
Two table-spoons of apple-cidar vinigar (pretty much every grocer carries the stuff) Three to four table-spoons of honey Fill the mug the rest of the way with hot water, and drink while still hot.
This solution is more for adults...for kidlets, it'd need to be diluted more...and the taste is pretty vile at first...though after a while, it's not so bad. Also, be careful not to take too much of the vinigar as that'll mess with the stomach.
I use it every time I start feeling something funky coming on with my throat and it works every time...the last time I had strep (close to 10 years ago), we couldn't afford any kind of doctor, and the fact I'm allergic to pennicilian, plus having nasty reactions to every other antibiotic, meant that option was out...so I had two or three mugs of that a day for three to four days, and I haven't had it again since.
Now if I can get rid of these indoor allergies and sensitivity to cold, dry air, I'd be home free.

Well the good news is for the most part with me, all that's really left is a bit of flem and a couch. My mom is starting to feel a bit better too, though Thursday night and Friday morning she looked horrable. Thursday night she lost a bit of her memory of what she did... to where we had a big hunt yesterday afternoon for something she lost while sick. The worse thing for this cold was having to cancel this weekend, we're hoping we can get out there sometime soon for TN. I feel bad, I'm even already packed to go. So as soon as we're well enough, and things can be straightened out, I'll be there.

I'm still going. She went to entirely too much trouble and stress to schedual this thing, and she doesn't deserve to have it entirely cancelled out from under her.
These next two months are gonna be hell on her, so hopefully you'll be able to plan ahead work something out soon.

I really wish I could be there This sickness has beat my family around the bush... one of my shots for my arm is being cancelled because of this as well, can't have the shot when I've had certain meds, so it's gotta be pushed back. This hasn't been fun at all on our end. Though with mom starting to feel better, we're hoping maybe we can get something durning the week. Haven't heard back from TN about that yet, I know my mom recommended it, since SW doesn't work at all next week, we can make it out durning the week.

You probably won't be hearing from her again 'till tomorrow...it's a four hour drive for them to get up to the cities, and she said she was gonna try leaving at around 8 this morning. I'll let 'er know to give you a call when I see her today.

Sorry to hear you're so ill. I myself haven't caught my bug yet this season, hope I don't either. A while back my body was 'trying' to get sick, but didn't really. Very quick and minor. I was so ill back in Feb./March however.
Something else. I've been exercising a lot and I hear that also helps to fight and maybe prevent illness. Esp. cardio exercise I think. Not sure how true that is though. But exercise is never usually a bad thing so if you ever do start exercising that's one advantage it 'may' have. It's probably not possible to prevent every illness that comes along though; eventually a person will get sick.

Surprisingly, I haven't gotten sick this winter yet *knock on wood* and I just know it's bound to happen soon. Even while spending time in freezing Michigan wearing jeans and sneakers, I didn't get sick at all! Luckily, we were all fine during Youmacon so it was okay to pass hugs and kisses around to the special guests. But now, back at work, I'm surrounded by people coughing up lungs, sneezing, and totally miserable. Still nothing. It's going to hit me soon, and when it does, I'll get the meds ready!

I am sure your illness is over now?! I am the one who has got a bad cold now My voice sounds like a man's one *gg* What I am worrying about now is, that I will have an operation on monday. Only my wisdom teeth are going to be dig out of my jaw-bone and I hope that my cold will be over then. But what when not...shall I go to the op or not?! If not, all my plans will get messy...
