Here's an idea for Thanksgiving day... for our "Happy ThanksGiving" topic we can turn it into a dinner topic.  Where people can take a picture of a dish they're having or made for their dinner.   Together it will be the TMNT-L, dinner for Thanksgiving and anyone taking part in this Holiday can be part of it. Happy/Smile

Please let me know what you think of this idea?  Anyone want to take part in a topic like that this month?

Well, considering Thanksgiving was last month for me, I think I'll pass. Wink

P'raps I'll do my spinach dip, molded to be shaped like an iguana. It was supposed to be for Halloween, but I guess it will work for Thanksgiving, too.
Have to figure out what I'm going to do for a theme this year, though some years I do like to go traditional. Cool

Sounds like a fun idea, but then this other idea might make tis more interesting.

How about sharing the recipes and cooking tips for our favorite holiday dishes, meats, and candies and cookies too? (provided it isn't a family secret, heh) Maybe for T-day as well as Christmas, since those in Canada already had theirs.   I'm always a sucker for trying out new recipes, since I like cooking.  Then we can later show the pictures of how it all looks when the day comes?

One of my dishes that everyone likes is this sweet potato casserole.  ;d

ROFL!

You have a lot of irons in the fire, methinks, Meester Angelo.

I forgot about this, too. You know, I attempted a sweet and sour turkey, but I forgot the pineapple... drat. It turned out okay, just not what I was hoping for. The mu-shu pork stuffing came out well, though. Razz

I will attempt it again soon.  Very Happy/Big Grin

Too much energy devoted to trying to be THE Thread Killer, I'd say!!

Sounds like it was still a good dinner, Aig. Especially the stuffing. I'm sure Ninjara's dinner was good, too, knowing that she was cooking some things.

I didn't cook anything. I just went and ate lots of good stuff.
But for Christmas...we'll see. I want to make my lemon cut out cookies again. I bought some new cookie cutters recently.

Well! Trader Joes has some nice premade sweet and sour sauces, and some new stuff like ginger soy broth, mmmmm.... which looks like fun to try out on the next victi-- er, turkey. I'm going to work out this sweet and sour turkey recipe, by criminey!  Sweat  Pizza

It would be kewl to have turtle shaped cookie cutters... and I mean regular turtles, not the neenja kind. Christmas turtle cookies. Yay! Hyper/Very Excited Hyper/Very Excited Hyper/Very Excited Hyper/Very Excited Hyper/Very Excited Hyper/Very Excited

Yes, it's an American holiday. So is July 4th.

I would like to make up my own holidays. Such as, Eat Like a Dragon Day, Happy Squid Day and Anti-Pastel Day. Which can be celebrated at any time of the year.
But traditional holidays can be fun, if you grew up with some of that kind.  Love

Editing has made me a bit silly lately...   Rolling Eyes

Okay, so-- it's-- a North American holiday.  Embarassed

I was wondering though, is it for the same reasons as the American thanksgiving? Just celebrated on a different day? Was curious...

A few years ago we didn't even have Halloween. Slowly it makes it's way, but to be honest...I don't really need it.

Yes, too much sugar that is not needed, for one. Darn halloween candy... makes me eat it...  Sweat

Hehe, actually I did pretty well this year. My kids don't go out trick of treating any more.
