Hmm, I never saw kids doing this trick or treat-thing....

I myself only made a nice raclette-evening with my 3 friends.

I LOVE Halloween, not just for the candy but the costumes!!!!

I just wish I could still take part in that, though I grew up with Halloween being one of the biggest Holidays here... with doing costume contests, trick or treating and so on.... my full family loves it!

Oh yes, the costumes are fun.
Especially if you go to a costume party.  Very Happy/Big Grin
Then there's the town Halloween parade, here...
Some people here seem to forget it's Halloween, though. I've seen parents running into a store to pick up some last minute items for their kids' class party, wearing costumes and other people staaaring at them... the librarians in town dress up, and get stared at... maybe some people are convinced it's only for kids? *shrug*
Then down the road a ways from here, they hold huge block parties with elaborate decorations, and crowds of kids walk and run wildly through the neighborhood in costumes and light sticks and such, music playing, parents getting free hot cider... My kids and I used to go to those, it was fun. Like in the old days when kids could go trick or treating without worrying about wierdos messing about with them, or spiking the candy.

Okay, enough from me. Back to other stuff. Razz

It seems there's less and less people taking part in Halloween... it's sad we use to get so many kids coming by our house.. we were excited just to get 70 kids this year.  Though we sit for long spaces of time, and people arrive in cars driving around looking for houses with their prouch lights on.

*throws this topic back on track*  Because I don't like to mix up my holidays.  ;p

Okay, so-- it's-- a North American holiday.  Embarassed

I was wondering though, is it for the same reasons as the American thanksgiving? Just celebrated on a different day? Was curious...

And... South Korea also has a Thanksgiving time too, in the middle of September.  It's a combo of celebrating a good harvest with honoring family past and present.  Lots of food prep and eating too.  Happy/Smile (Anime Style)

Ah, so it's like a harvest festival to celebrate the bounty? That seems to be a universal thing, then. Neat!  Happy/Smile

Argh, I consumed "more than usual" and have been sick for the past week!

But our Thanksgiving was very nice - spent it with family and ate good food. Love
