Big Apple Con 2006

Hi everyone! Well in about 1 week the Big Apple Con of 2006 is going to happen and I'm kinda surpised no one has talked about it! Last year Wayne and Dan went and the Mirage Group, Ivey, Pichu, me (Simba), Scott etc too! If anyone knows if either anyone I listed here are coming please say so! I think it's really cool that everyone met up last year!

Big Apple Con Nov 2005 Review

I haven't mentioned this one, because I haven't heard anything about it.  Last year Scott let us know that he was going, which is what caught my attention towards it, though so far no word from him or anyone else on this convention.  If someone knows there's going to be guest at this con please do let us know.  

Though it's a bit late to be bringing up the con, since a lot of us can't come up with the money in a little over a week to get all the way out there.  Hopefully if there is something going on, those who live closer can make it to this con.

And the other thing is, the 2003 edition was lame.  Blaze and I met up for that one, and after a few misadventures in Gramercy Park--in the rain, no umbrella, with me nursing an ear infection, no less--we made it to the convention on Friday.  There was almost nothing interesting on the show floor, the panels didn't look impressive, and once we left the con that day, we didn't go back.  We ended up rolling up much better scores at Midtown Comics than we did at the con itself.  But hey, it was New York, and we weren't bored.  Our trips home were adventures, Blaze's more so than mine.  I remember joking that after I dropped Blaze off at JFK, getting back to Penn Station to catch my train on time took five subway lines, four transfers, three city burroughs, two hours, and a partridge in a pear tree.

Great if you're in the area, but I wouldn't recommend dropping everything to go to this one.  Sorry.

I dropped everything for it last year, got to meet the voice of Baxter Stockman, Scott.  A ton of the 4Kids artist for TMNT showed up, as well as Wayne Grayson and Dan Green.  So you can't judge a con by one year alone.  I also met up with a lot of people that I know from other conventions, who I wasn't excepting to see.  Friends who run booths and so on.  True the panels weren't all that, but I spent everyday of the con there... and enjoyed the company I had.

Hi people! Wayne said this about the con recently:

Dan and I were not invited to the NYC Comicon, so we definitely will not be "guests", but we may pop in as civilians and check it out. Don't know for sure yet. If I go at all, it'll be on Sunday.

Does this change your minds about going? lol
