Hey everyone, durning the repeat time we can do reviews of episoides that aired before the TMNT-L forum was brought together.

In this episode, the Foot attack the Second Time Around Shop, and the Turtles have to find their way out of there.  As they're going down, they get to meet the Elite Guards aka "Nice Hats".  When they get down to the gift shop to meet the Elite Guards, the Shredder comes in.  As the rest see with their own eyes, the Shredder is still alive.

The fight is intense, Casey Jones shows up to try and help save the day.  Though even with his help, Shredder and his crew back the Turtles into an old Freezer and trap them in as Shredder sets the building to explode from a leaky gas pipe and flames from a fire that started from the fight.

I remember that this episode was the last one we saw in the first season... we had to wait till Fall to see what happens... the tension as all we see at the end was the "Second Time Around" shop blowing up... and the Guardains thinking the Turtles were dead....

Please talk about this episoide, what did you like... what you didn't like... ect.... anything you would of changed

OMGOMGOMG!!!  This was the FIRST TIME I watched the show all the way through-- I mean, I'd accidently seen "The Shredder Strikes" part two-- and found out that the turtles were back-- but this!  I'd read the synops on the Cartoon Network/ TV Guide thing and decide to watch it ("the Shredder Strikes Back" episodes, that is!).

And OMG!!!  I just--- OMG!!!

These were the eps that got me back into this fandom!

*FREAKING KICKS FAST FORWARD!!!!!*

I credit those episodes of "The Shredder Strikes Back" parst one and two, plus "Tales of Leo" with my current fanfiction writing obsession.

Figured it wouldn't be right without Mirage's word, so I'm going to add their coverage of each episoide links here as well. They have screen shots there as well, for anyone looking for any. Remember if you have screne shots you'd wish to share you may share in this topic.

I saw this ep during the week of the replay of the first half. Man, it was awesome. These two eps, plus "Tales of Leo" are credited as my absolute favorite eps. They were on the number one spot until "The Ancient One" stole that spot, but they are still rockin' episodes. I loved the fight scenes and the "Nice hats" comments from Mikey, Don, and Raph. Those have to be my fave quotes from the ep. I knew the Turtles weren't dead but it just KILLED me having to wait until the fall to see what happened next. And then I only saw part of "Tales of Leo" because I had to help take her dog to the vet, so I didn't see that one until the holiday season. However, my boyfriend was kind enough to tell me what happened during the ep, which was a big help to me. These episodes pwn Fast Forward to the max.

Made this topic into a poll, so people can rate it at the star they think this episode deserves. Happy/Smile Will be doing each episode like this, one at a time.

Also added another DVD which it can be found on.

I gave this episode a 5 star, for great action.  I remember being excited through the full episode my first time watching it, I was at Shadow Wolf's house, and on the edge of my seat.  This was a lot of fun, most of us knew what happened at the end... though I was still fully pulled into the story.  Great animation, characters, and actions!  All around a wonderful episode!

Synopsis:

Intro: In a variety of quick cuts, Splinter describes the events from Part 1.

We open Part 2 with everyone crouched over the seriously injured Leonardo. They are in shock, not only from Leo’s condition, but also about his announcement that the Shredder has returned. Before anyone can really do anything, Mike sees something outside the broken window that his brother recently crashed through. There are scores of Foot Ninja assembled on the rooftops of all the buildings surrounding April’s apartment!

Before Splinter and the Turtles can prepare, the Foot come storming into April’s apartment from every side. While the Turtles and Splinter battle the attacking Foot, April drags Leo to a sheltered spot and tries to tend to his wounds.

It quickly becomes clear that the mutants can’t hold the Foot off for very long, so they decide the best course of action is to go down the stairs and escape through the antique shop. With April assisting Leonardo, our heroes battle their way down the stairs and start to make their way to the antique shop. Mikey scouts ahead and discovers that four Elite Guards are waiting for them in the store. It’s a trap! The Foot attack was designed to tire them out and herd them into the grip of the Elite.

Since there appears to be nowhere else to go, Mike and Don take on the four Elite Guards, while Raphael defends their backs from the attacking Foot soldiers upstairs. Splinter sees that the battle is not going well for his two sons, so he relieves Raph of stair duty and sends him to help his brothers. April continues to tend to Leonardo. The battle is ferocious, and the Turtles and Splinter are at best delaying an inevitable defeat due to being severely outnumbered. Just when it seems things couldn’t get any worse, they do! Hun arrives on the scene and menaces both Leonardo and April. To make matters worse, the Shredder shows up and attacks Master Splinter! Just when all seems lost, reinforcements arrive in the form of Casey Jones.

Casey crashes through the storefront window on his motorcycle and quickly manages to neutralize several of the Elite in the process. The brief respite and Casey’s appearance re-energize the three Turtles and Splinter and the battle hits a fever pitch. However, the odds are just too great and it's clear that the good guys will have to find an escape route or be killed.

April points to a door off to one side of the shop and explains to Splinter that it is an old walk-in cooler. Figuring this is the best (and maybe only) chance, Splinter yells for everyone to retreat into the cooler. April drags Leo inside and once the others fight their way in, Mikey closes the thick door. They’re safe for the moment, but how long will the door hold?

As the Turtles ponder their predicament, several police cars pull up to the scene. Shredder orders his ninja to vanish, but rather than simply fleeing from the police and leaving the Turtles alive, the villain has a slightly different plan in mind. Before leaving, Shredder drops a fire bomb and then uses his armored claws to puncture an exposed gas line. As the police prepare to enter the building, a massive explosion rocks the neighborhood and April's antique shop erupts in a gigantic ball of flame.

On a nearby rooftop, two Guardians survey the scene. They report to the Council that they've arrived too late to help and the Turtles have been destroyed. The Council is dismayed at this news and they note that their enemy is becoming too powerful.
