Hiya everyone,

I was wondering what us fans could do to help get the word out even more about the new movie.

We all know that the promotions for this movie has been slow coming, and really not being handled the best that it could be.  In fact I swear if I wasn't a fan, I'd know little to nothing about this movie even coming out.  While other movies have ads in theaters a year before the movie comes out, posters and stand ups months before they come out, and TV spots in entertainment news... this movie has been kind of riding under the waves.

I was thinking we could put banners on our web site to http://www.tmnt.com/  like

Though I know a lot of people are doing this already on their sites, maybe we could also put it in our sigs on boards that don't even really have to do with TMNT, even if it's just a link like TMNT, it doesn't have to a picture.

Just really right now voices need to be heard that us fans are out here... even with being knocked down by Fast Forward, and not getting our normal dose of TMNT comics... and the movie being buried by other medias out there.  We're still around.

I'm going to post a banner on myspace, though sadly I don't have anywhere else like a real web site to post one.  I will be adding it into my sigs, even if I have to take something else out.

What do you all think?

Well, as you know, I'm not the computer type....but I don't hide the fact that I'm a TMNT fan, so everywhere I go something comes up.  I have TMNT plates on my car, so I get asked about what that stands for all the time.  There are a lot of people out there that aren't into it to the degree we are, but they love the Guys all the same.  I have not had one negative reaction to the news this movie is coming out.  Everyone I've talked to is very excited and looking forward to it.
My gut feeling with the promo stuff is, you'll see a lot more of it after Christmas.

I've told every single person I can think of, posted sigs on other forums, and have POSTED on other non-TMNT forums as well. I wish we could contact Warner Brothers/Imagi and ask them when official trailers will be released on TV/radio and get the blood pumping LOL. Has "Ant Bully" been the only movie the TMNT trailer has been shown?

PS: Wrote an email to them; not sure if it'll help it all but I tried. Love

Heya, fellas! Got a response from WB although they have given me another address and (bonus!) a telephone number.

Warner Bros. Studios

Attention:  (Department you wish to contact)

4000 Warner Blvd.

Burbank, California 91522

Telephone:  818-954-6000

I imagine the department could be "advertising"?

No, I've seen the teaser in front of other movies, including Fullmetal Alchemist.

I went to the movies today to see "Happy Feet" again, and this time was there early enough to see the trailers... no TMNT trailer before the movie Sad/Down    Though I did see a trailer for movies that come out in July and even one for Christmas of 2007!  *sigh*

Now Murphy did say on the Technodrome that a new trailer coming out before a Warner Brothers Holiday Film this December.  So checking into it, There is only ONE Holiday film coming out this December from Warner Brothers.  Unaccompanied Minors.   This movie comes out December 8th.  So there is a HIGH chance that we'll have a NEW TMNT Trailer before the movie!!!!!

Now I'll say, I'm NOT interested in this movie at all, though I'm willing to go JUST to see the trailer before it!  Anyone else going to check it out?

I don't know...Unaccompanied Minors looked amusing enough.  I'm just worried they'll come out of left field and try to make some larger point with it, like they did with Happy Feet.  If they start taking cheap shots at TSA or DHS, that's not going to bode well for TMNT.

I don't think the movie has to have anything to do with the trailer and it should not HURT TMNT in any way shape or form.

Mmm...we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one, I'm afraid.

Warner Brothers has a history of selling a movie one way and then delivering lectures out of left field.  The most infamous example of this was Million Dollar Baby: they sold it as something akin to a female take on Rocky, and ended up turning the thing into a soapbox on euthanasia.  That didn't sit well with some critics.

And NOWHERE in Happy Feet's marketing was there any HINT of the heavyhanded lecturing on Antarctic fishing, never mind its blatant swipe at zoos and its subtle digs at religion.  If that movie was completely apolitical, I'm a Flyers fan.  And I'm not the only one who thinks that.

Also...

Quote from: "Mark Collette of the Tyler Morning Telegraph"
While "Happy Feet" wrenches incredibly choreographed movement out of an animal known for its awkward wobbling, it's sadly limited by the scope of its setting, and its eco-message is so overwrought that your kid might never again eat fish.

I'm sorry, but at this point, I no longer trust Warner Brothers to keep from turning TMNT into a soapbox on some cause celebre or other.  I'll see it once, but if they get as heavy-handed with TMNT as they did with Happy Feet, I'll be the loudest voice screaming foul.

That sure is people taking movies WAY to serious...  I enjoyed Happy Feet for the comedy, wonderful animation style, and a round story.   It did not in anyway get me to think that I won't eat fish anymore, it did not get me to change my religion and it didn't get me to think badly of Zoos.  It is a story, nothing more.  And if people fear it's going to change how their kids think and act, they should talk to their kids and explain that it is merely a story.

Now, before this topic turns into a "Need to be moved to the Flame Pit" because of heavy debates which doesn't belong in a topic about promoting the TMNT movie... let's please stop this.  Because I don't think we're going to see eye to eye on this.

Yeah, definate, Michelangelo.  I haven't seen the movie Happy Feet but I'll be the first to say that any movie can be a blockbuster if marketed right and if you have already said "This movie will fail", then it's a self fulfilling profacy.  It will fail (although there are those occassions where a surprise will come out.  This IS also an existing series so it's kinda hard to say "you have to market this, especially when there's already a large following."  I do this everyday for a mall and it's always a case of "Hey, everyone knows we have <insert name of store here>, what can we tell the audience that they don't ready know?"

But, getting off that subject, I agree, we should try to spread the word ourselves...especially if Warner Brothers won't do it now.  Sadly, if I had a website and knew how to keep one up well, I'd do it but sadly, I don't. *sighs*

GOOD NEWS!

Just got this from Murphy over on the Technodrome!

Quote from: "Murphy from the Technodrome"
Meanwhile, I've just learned that the NEW TMNT movie trailer will be shown with the film Eragon slated to open in the US on December 15.

So now we know which movie!  And it's a movie I want to see, not one I'm cringing at, so that's a good thing!  Wink

Only bad news is, I was hoping for December 8th, it was 7 days sooner  LOL    I hate waiting Wink

*makes mental note to go see Eragon*

Trailer for that looked decent enough.  It should be more worth the admission than Unaccompanied Minors, which I'll table until the reviews are in.

I'll step off the field of play on this one.  I don't trust WB at present, so I'm not going to be going out of my way to pre-sell this.  But, per instruction, I also won't go bad-mouthing the project at this point.  I'll just reluctantly shut up and let it be.

Dan B. posted this as well...

We've received a report that the new TMNT movie trailer from Imagi will be debuting on December 15 in front of the "Eragon" film. It's not set in stone - but it's a possibility.

So it may be true, and may not-- I guess we'll find out soon.
