Mirage Vol. 1 Issue 13 Reviews!

This topic is for TMNT #13 which came out in February, 1988, done by Michael Dooney.

In this topic, people can review what they thought of the comic, what was their favorite scene in the comic, what was their least favorite scene... ect....  people can also type up if they have this comic or want it.

In this issue the Turtles are camping and something crashes in a lake near the guys, they discover a woman inside of the robot.  They bring her to the camp, and as they're training she wakes up and attacks poor Donny mistaking him for her enemies.  After they get the lady calmed down, she told them how things are ran on her planet.  Learning her name is Jhanna.  To become the next leader she has to win in a battle, though the person she's against is a cheater.   They're attack, the Turtles help hold back other ladies minions, Jhanna gets to fight and win for the leadership of her planet.

Brother, I have to say, there is so much stuff on TMNT-L forums that it could be a full time job just looking through all the things to post on.  Most of the time I find myself spellbound and don't say anything!

    But yes, I remember this issue, Mikey.  I liked it quite a bit.  I love the cover.  It was neat imagining the TMNT out back-packing and camping.  I always liked how local landmarks are mentioned in these earlier books.  And often you find actual things from the area of Northampton depicted in the books.

    The thing I loved the most in this issue appeals to my romantic side though.  And that was Donnie's crush on Jhanna.  And how Jhanna knew, but also knew she couldn't fully acknowledge him.  But she's touched by his feeling for her, and when she leaves, while he is still sleeping, she cuts off her warrior braid and places it next to him.

     When the guys awake at daybreak, and Casey comes to pick them up, Don's lagging behind......holding her braid, and still rather starry-eyed.  I dunno.  It's a touching story.  Still makes me smile.

I just got this in trade format a month ago from the official site. I gotta get around to reading it sometime. Now I jut have to find Book One eventually.
