It's even worse to have a dry spell when you're supposed to be completing a commissioned piece.... *guilt, guilt*
Which is why I have trouble doing those. But it's also nice to earn something with the art.
Working at the professional level kind of burned me out, though.
Which is why I'm just sticking with the occasional fine art sort of stuff, and illustrating my own books. Which is taking forever, at this point.
I did manage to write and draw a comic, which was uh, 25-30 pages long, more or less, while my son was under a year old. And I went without sleep as a result.
One has to trade one thing for another.
You either pursue a career and a) neglect your family and/or b) neglect youself, which can lead to health problems.
I'm at this point trying to get myself back on track and my kids to stay the course, so the art is the casualty at this point.
Yep, yep... the churning out the rare art piece that turns out well, at least for me, is more a happy accident than anything.
I haven't posted anything to Devart in ages... *more guilting*
