Spammers who think they're being Clever

These people are funny, throwing in links in their first post to the board... for stuff that this board has nothing to do with.  Interesting and funny.  I so enjoy having something to do from time to time on the board.  And lately these goof balls are showing up more and more.  

Guess our board is getting out there more to where we got their attention.  Nice to know eh?  Though don't worry people, I'll keep taking out the trash as it comes.  For me this is fun, and gives me some work to do on this board.

I think I'll use this topic to keep the Spammers from being the last post in the Thread Killer, cause really they don't belong having their topics on our index page

So anyone else like playing with Spammers and annoying them by letting them be our toy instead of getting on our nerves?

If you got a nick/handle of a main character, post or release it to someone who will use it properly. And in character whenever possible.

Well he just found out the nick hasn't been taken here and requested a nick change.   Though he was at my house, so he hasn't gotten the chance to come on and use it yet.

Ugh, I can't stand those spammers.  They seem to be automated, and they have a nearly unlimited number of IPs and email addresses to work with.  You or Fugitoid might want to look for a phpBB mod for a better CAPTCHA system than the one included by default, since that seemed to stop them when I had that problem.

But there is one thing to think about, offing the spammers keeps Mikey busy and out of getting into other trouble. If we get something that eliminates them, just think of the chaos Mike will bring to the rest of the boards!!    

Actually, it would be nice to have something to help prevent that stuff from junking up our boards.

LOL our last spammer was so funny!!!!!   He didn't just spam, he had a link that said "Spam blocker!"  Bet it was a magnet for him and all of his friends to find us easier


Any how yes there is stuff the mods are talking about doing to help lower the amount of spammers.  Though I'm having fun.

Hey, if nothing else, these spammers are giving me lots of practice at moving posts to the bottom of the page.

And also practice in sometimes posting sarcastic comments...
