Yeah, noticed Hun's different VA right away too. And Leo sounded 'off' at the beginning of the episode as well, to me.

VA's aside, I enjoyed the episode. Sort of expected the bait & switch to be done and I was definitely believing it had happened by the time they got to Don's story. Although, Don's story did make me laugh quite a bit at the end. At first, I thought they were going to do something like "Cyborg Don". The route they took was much better.

Leo's story was the most, tragic (for lack of a better word). For someone like him, to go from the highest honour to being the traitor...that would hurt. Also interesting that Karai is suddenly accolyte-worthy. If the turtles were only gone a month, either she really turned it around fast...or the Ninja Tribunal season has an interesting twist at the end.

New episode next week too. And they're not plugging it as "season finale" or anything, like they've been doing with some of the other shows, so maybe they will be showing the entire FF season.

Very Happy/Big Grin   WOW!!!  I think I can say that this was my favorite episode thus far!  I was wondering when they would do an episode with reference to them going back...as well...an episode where they'd wonder how their lives turn out after they get home.  I sort of figured from the beginning that it wasn't the 'real' journal, but the stories were still great!

Approximate cost of raising the Justice Force babies...$320,000.  Surling's comment on "It's Ninja Time"...priceless...

That episode was definitely the best, and that last thing about Raph and Casey on the island-- and the mole people-- and Splinter admitting by the end that the last part had been HIS as he was growing bored!  LOL!!!

It was GOOD to see Casey, April, the "real" New York, the Utroms (WHERE are they in the future?  All we've seen are those other aliens)-- the Tribunal-- all of it-- even Karai!

I loved it at the end when Splinter revealed at the end that he had Cody make a fake journal to trick them. Man, that was so funny!

oooh! Terri kindly relayed the Leo and Karai story to me.
 Shocked

I would have to say, something like that certainly changes the tone of the FF season. That's not silly "fluff"!!
And this episode tying into past storylines from prior seasons is certainly not just "bite size" one-offs. It rewards long term viewers that have an invested interest in the cartoon.
I've been reading the posts about this season, and it does sound to me like it's slowly getting closer to the balanced tone of light and dark, and having continuity and linkages that matter, from the previous seasons.

Saw the last 10 min of it, because I wasn't paying attention to the time.
Tuned in at the part where Raph and Casey fought Hun and such, and then got transported to the deserted island, that was hilarious. Raph and Casey au naturel and Casey holding up a bunch of leaves to cover himself up.  LOL

Was bummed I missed most it, it sounded pretty good. Was it Steve Murphy who wrote the storyline?

Yes.  Written by Steve Murphy.  It was a really good episode.  It gave me even more hope.

The Leo/Karai was the best!

But the Don one-- that really made you think that he was "dead"-- then the "cyborg" thing from the IMAGE icky comic-- and then the punchline!

But yes.  I wish I'd taped this one-- I've not bothered this year with recording them.  But the DVD will be out soon.

This episode was decent, I thought.

I found the humor enjoyable and I'm gald it was abundant. There was action in this episode, yeah, but I feel that the humor just surpassed it. Anyways, here's what I thought of each Turtles' future vignettes...

I'd say I liked Leo's the most cuz he got to go back to the Ninja Tribunal to continue his training. I liked the fight scenes for his part -- especially since Karai showed up. Very Happy/Big Grin

Raphael finally got to go out to fight the Purple Dragons with Casey again. The narration by Casey for this part truly got my attention. It was also cool seeing Hun again, but I didn't care much for his new voice. Surprised

Donny's part was very scientific, I thought, but that's ok. It was interesting seeing him as a disembodied brain... sorta reminded me of when Baxter was like that. I don't agree with his brain being used to power a Serling unit, though. Rolling Eyes

Mikey's part didn't really do much for me, but I'm glad the writers decided to include it, though. Hey, at least he was in the beginning making a big deal out of action figures, which was not only funny, but it was something that I could relate to.

Overall, since this episode was decent, I'm giving it three "Do not read April and Casey's jorunal" moments out of five. Next week's episode looks like it'll be pretty cool, since we'll be seeing Viral again.

ooh! The Raph and Casey thing sounded like fun!!!
Anyone got a screen cap of a scene from that???

But "icky Image" comic Don?
Was that really a nod to the Image comic????
If so, I think that's cool!
Gary Carlson was a really nice, really interested in the fans, writer. I didn't love everything the Image comic series did, but Gary had a plan for Don that was interesting, he never got to finish. And he did some other good things that fit the characters Mirage hadn't done.

And Splinter pulling a trick is a fun touch, too. I look forward to seeing this episode someday.

Loved the Mikey segment where he's Turtle Titan.  But not of his homemade costume, but the future costume!

This episode was great... and wow not people touched the Mikey flash back.

I kind of felt the journal was off when everything that was put in there was ONLY stuff that the Turtles learned from the future.  Though the first two story lines seemed like something that could of really happened, by time we got to the part with Don as a brain, things seemed very off.  But let me work my way to that part Wink

I loved the beginning of Mike with his toys... getting out of chores.   That is so Mikey.   It's surprising that Cody let's him do chores with the stuff he use to pull to get out of stuff at April's Wink    Everyone remember the line "Can I help?"   and April yelling to keep him away from the dishes from Season 1.   So yes I was very happy with the opening, and the curious turtles about their future.  (Come on, who wouldn't want to read it? Wink ).

Oh and I truly LOVED Michelangelo's Box Turtle joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It was funny he was the only one that Leo didn't catch by seeing, but by calling him out of hiding.  Way to be a ninja Mike!  Wink

Once we got into Michelangelo's story, I liked how they worked the future thing into there by having Mike get a reminder, not like he was watching for it before hand.  Almost as it was like a slap... 'remember reading about this in the journal?'.   I thought that was the most creative since the others were going places for a reason.   I was surprised that Splinter let the Turtles come back to the past with their future weapons.   And I really had a feeling Mike was going to mess up in the fight to teach him he shouldn't have read the journal... though his friends being turned into babies wasn't the worse that could of happened.    Anyone else find it ODD that "Nobody" was there?

Leonardo's story kind of upset me... not upset me in the way that I was disappointed with it... but upset me in the fact that if people were not lucky enough to have Comcast on demand, or have someone nice enough to send the file of the few episodes that aired on there.... they wouldn't know anything about who the tribunal group is!   And that isn't even coming out on DVD in most countries!   It was kind of stepping on an open wound with the fans saying 'Oh yeah, we're not keeping them in order... but here let's give ya a show and tell that it was suppose to happen before this trip'.   And a nice little SPOILER on top of it, with Karai being good and giving up the road of the Shredder!   Man do I still wanna bap 4Kids for that.

Though I found it written well, I think Leo would of learned about jumping the gun.  I also find it odd that if Leo read it in the journal why he wouldn't have had enough info to know who the traitor is.  Wouldn't that have been written about too, just like how Mike knew what was going to happen to his friends, and Raph knew where that fight with the Purple Dragons were going to be... as Raph said the Journal said the "Who, where & when"   So why didn't it do the same with Leo's part of the story.  So that kind of had me thinking for a bit there.  So I just went with it... guessing that April just didn't find it important to put that info in the journal (even though she Knows that Leo reads it in the future).   Being kicked out of there may been a blow to Leo, though it wasn't as bad as what was to come for Donny.

Donatello's story sounded real enough.  O'Neil Tech getting started up, than to go on that space trip.  I blinked a few times when the ship blew up.  When the show came back from the ads, I was even more confused about Donny being a brain with a purple mask on???  Why would they leave that on him.   When I saw the body coming towards the screen I was thinking of a cyborg type body too.   Though about died laughing when they uncovered it!   Esp since they were caught while reading that story, by the punchline himself!   That was a nice touch!

Things really did start to get weird when Raph story started... esp after he beat the Purple Dragons and appeared on that island naked with Casey.  Though Casey naked was very funny!!   Though I don't see April giving up that easy on Casey and getting re married that fast!   She would be one to keep an eye out for them and have as much help as she could from Leo and Mike to try and find Raph and Casey.   Though this causing people to move underground and mole people....   Right.....  we believed that, hehehe Wink

I like how the guys all started to catch on with Raph's story only for Cody & Splinter to come out and laugh at them about it.  Splinter admitting about Raph's story line was great too.   Gotta love that question to Cody about how he doesn't talk about it.

Though I want my hands on that real journal that Cody had at the very end  Wink  *Goes off to be ninja like to try and get it*   Razz
