Hiya

This seems to be a big topic of discussion... how the Turtles look so real, the back grounds look so real... than you have the humans.   No this is not a bashing topic so if you're going to post please point out the good and bad of these character designs.  Have fun in here!  But know that a LOT of people have put in a LOT of time to make this movie for us, so please do respect the work put into these characters.

Once seeing the new pictures I like the skin texture, though it still surprises me the rout they took with the characters.  April surprises me a lot, she doesn't look anything like I picture April, esp following the movie story line.  Though we had a big jump between TMNT 1 & 2 with how April looks, so this isn't the first time we're going through a character design change.   Just this time it's animated, and it would of been weird if they tried to animate either Judith or Paige, so it's interesting to see the new rout they're taking.

Though out of all of the characters, the one I'm having the most fun with is Casey Jones.  My friends and I around here have been playing Sims a lot.  And I keep picking on the male Sims, their bodies don't look real.   Than when I was looking through these pictures it finally hit me!  Casey looks like a Sim!!! Hehehe  So I put this together....

Ok all of you with Sims 2 on your computers?  Can you Sim that or what?  hehehehe Wink

I truly can not wait to see these characters in action on the screen to really get a feel for what they are like!   Hyper/Very Excited

Well, you have to admit, in the comics they never looked like "real people"-- they fit with the turtle look, and the turtle look fit with them.  I'm not just talking the current series of comics-- the originals for sure did not present the people as "real"-- HOW many huge-busted, wasp-waisted women do any of us know?

I like the looks, though it's true as someone in our chat group said last night-- Karai needs to EAT something!

I like Casey's look.  The pics with him and Raph together fit perfectly-- in that they fit perfectly together.  That part on the roof ledge where they're sitting and talking (you KNOW it's about "life") is beautiful.

Hehehe, I still like my opinion.  I thought Casey reminded me of Prince Vince from the "Beetlejuice" cartoons, or at least a distant cousin to Tim Burton!   LOL  But, really, the human characters DO look like something right out of a video game instead of passing as actual humans.  Aw, well!

I know what ya mean, Cynlee although they do exist. It's just that people like that usually reside in Beverly Hills California! HAHA, just kidding. Seriously though, I can see how the animation resembles that of the earlier Mirage comics.

LOL!
Casey as a Sim!!
Where's the green diamond over his head?

I agree with the comments so far.
They didn't give us too much of the people to see in the San D Con footage, although we saw the kids at the Mikey party, in particular.
I think at first, it's--"oh!" but then you get used it and go..."ah..okay. Yeah, the stylizing fits". At least, that's how it worked in my case. The more I look at it, the more it makes sense.
I agree that most of the TMNT comics portrayals of people were always stylized to a greater or lesser extant, and certainly all of the cartoons were, too. It's only the movies that gave us actual people, of course. So this is just another stylized version to get familiar with.

I was surprised by the way the human characters looked when I first saw them too....for a lot of the same reasons everyone else commented on. Mostly because the humans seemed more stylized than the Turtles.  But after sitting back and looking at all of the images....I don't know....everything looks stylized Shocked ......except maybe the backgrounds.  I still like it all very, very much though.
Speaking of past TMNT movies and the human actors....I'll pass this along that's kind of fun....each April resembled a sister of Kevin's.  Judith Hoag was similar to Judy.  Paige Turco was similar to Maryann.  It wasn't really intentional, but both sisters got a kick out of it, as did other members of the family. Love
