For the past year now Barry Gordon's been hosting From Left Field which is a live call in show about politics and world culture. He's already had Billy West on the show before talking about their history in voice work but he's doing a return appearance today and I plan to call in during the show and mention TMNT, which should make for an interesting discussion considering Barry was the voice of Donatello on the original toon!

How awesome! I really hope we get to know the Turtles' VAs soon and just who is Billy West playing. Either way, Billy is a fabulous actor.

Dude, I know! I just had the best conversation with him and Barry! I almost talked their poor ears off about TMNT, but it was so worth it! I can't wait to show everyone the podcast. In the meantime though, you guys might like to hear the podcast from July 9, 2006 when Billy and Barry had their first conversation on the air. Just download or listen to the MP3 and skim forward to about 2 hours and 7 minutes into the clip!

Hey Jephael, I've been waiting forever for an update on this, what's going on? I'm so curious as to what you learned. You said that you got to talk to them. What did you learn? Where's this recording you mentioned? I've listen to the July 9th, 2006 recording on the site, but I don't see January 7th up there. Do share!

Listening to this a bit more, I heard that Billy mentions the TMNT movie on the July 9th show. *G*
So his character is updated in the credit list.

I'm sorry, Ivey but there were technical difficulties at the radio station and the conversation I had with Barry and Billy never got recorded. I was hoping that somehow they could've somehow managed to save the telecast on another program but that was just wishful thinking. All I remember is that Billy mentioned that he'll be playing one of the monster generals.

Can't be, did a check up on his character name. Pantera, and it doesn't match any of the names on the toys.

Maybe they changed the name either from Gato to Pantera or vice/versa, and the toy company couldn't catch up.
Either way, that leaves Grey Delisle as the female general-- I'm sure of it!

I don't think so, what if in the movie they called each other by names... wouldn't they know their own character names?

*shrugs*-- I just think that Pantera makes more sense than Gato.
Ah well.

Actually, Gato is one of the general names I've seen on packaging. Isn't it something like Spanish for cat? And a possible problem with Pantera is they probably couldn't use it because it's the name of a rather well known rock band of the heavy metal variety? Maybe there was a name change on the character along the way, but it's probably supposed to suggest one of the more catlike generals? And if the voice work was done in isolation, so he didn't have anyone calling his character by name to hear, maybe he doesn't remember what the name was for the character?

I'm pretty sure his character is Pantera... though I guess we'll see when the books and movies comes out. I just don't think he's one of the Generals...

Maybe one of the underlings of some sort? Either that...or as I suggested, the name had to be changed due to the rock band.
