Was the flame section originally meant to end up a place for rants?  *L*  Ah well...

A while back I had to have a ton of dental work done.  I've only had about half of it but so far I've ended up getting something like 11 fillings in 12 teeth.  Only one of the teeth hurt before getting the fillings and now all of them hurt maybe 1/4 of the time.  I've also had one of the fillings fall out, and one of my teeth is now smaller than it used to be leaving a big gap between it and the tooth next to it.  I've had braces twice, gaps do not make me happy.  So I was already thinking about seeing a new dentist.

Yesterday I was just ranting on a doll forum I'm on where I have in my info that I'm from Summerville SC.  After ranting one of the other girls on the forum who used to live in Summerville mentioned that I needed to stay away from Dr. Andrews because he had basically (long story short) stuffed cotton in her tooth and left it there.  She didn't know about it until it started to rot and began to hurt.   Shocked   And guess what... that's my dentist.

I was already thinking he was doing unnecessary procedures, but now I'm worried about what the heck he might have done to my teeth!  I definitely plan on seeing a new dentist asap and explaining everything to them.  I'm not looking forward to paying to fix what this guy screwed up!

Ewww that stinks. I want to be a dentist so I know all about crooked ones. I've actually voulenteered at a few dental offices and I've seen a LOT.

I've had to suffer some stuff, but it wasn't due to bad dentist work...ugh.
I suggest you get some referrals from others on a respectable dentist, go visit them and see what they say. I hope you haven't had stuff messed up that's going to be more work and money....

my sympathies. i hate dentists. i was 10 when i had root canal done, they strapped me to the chair and gassed me. never took a moment to explain what they were doing to me, damn straight i was scared and struggled.
recently that tooth they worked on broke, and now it's less than half a tooth with nice sharp edges. the tooth behind it is falling apart...im all messed up. im scared to go to a dentist and pay a person to cause me more pain and distress. yeah even at 35 im not comfy in a dentists office. it means horrible pain to me.

I did end up finding another dentist and he's awesome.  The root canal sucked but actually didn't even hurt afterwards which surprised me.  The worst part was the smell!  UGH!  

Oh and of course I am never going back to my old dentist again.
