I have to say that I think they do...or at least Don did. He seems to love picking up April, holding her close and jumping down with her. *snickers* Has anyone else noticed that when it comes down to it, Don is ALWAYS the one who gets to pick up the girl and carry her down?

Well I guess Leo doesn't like it too much based on this pic (thanks to Sewer Bull on the Technodrome screencap thread)

Sticking to the question of saving her in the old original animation series, I'd say not always. There was some grumbling. But, it is true that Don never did grumble, and seems to have enjoyed it the most. And yeah, Lenni, you do have some April issues. But what the heck. I think you just got a limited view of the character from television. She never was intended to be a helpless damsel in distress. Television strayed from what Eastman and Laird created. Though, I must say, 4Kids has come closer to the mark, and that's some relief. The character, as Eastman and Laird meant her to be, is smart, funny, kind, creative, and feisty. She won't bail out on you when the chips are down. April O'Neil has many of the same traits as the real life April she was named after. And trust me, she ain't no pushover.

Hmmm...i'm not going to vote on this one because i'm not sure. Most times I really don't think the Turtles minded saving April when she got into trouble. I really don't think it's a sort of thing you can 'enjoy'. It's not like they were thinking "Yes! April's in trouble again! Let's go!" I'm sure they were concerned for her each time. Now...the frequency in which she got into trouble...sure...you could roll your eyes at that sometimes. All in all, it made for a good story!

I do think that they enjoy it, maybe justbit but surely they must get annoyed. But they do seem to cr about her lot when she does get kidnapped or whatever. so Lenni, i have some April issues my self. i mean why can't she look after herself. but barein in mind, she did escape from the rat king, without the turtles help.. that's the only time i can think of that she's managed to escape by herself, correct me if i'm wrong.

I think it was more of, "Good grief, Shred-head, get a new HOBBY!" What guy would NOT enjoy rescuing a cute lady? ;3

I am VERY glad women in cartoons have evolved into something more than mere objects that look pretty and are there to show how strong the men are. April always annoyed me because she constantly needed saving and couldn't do anything on her own. I was a tomboy growing up so I adored when women took a stand and faught back.
I do think they enjoyed it just a tad though.

Ah, yes, she did escape the Rat King on her own. I rather liked that episode - quite a bit actually-lol. She finally got feisty enough & managed to escape on her own for a change. But I haven't watched Volumes 4 or 6 yet [still don't have them], so I can not be sure if she ever got herself out of trouble on her own anymore times than that once.
Yanno, I wrote a fan fic, where TMNT has to keep saving April - if I post it in the fic section of the forum - anybody gonna read it? Lol.
