Hiya everyone,

Doing an update that this upcoming weekend is going to be Toronto Con 2005, and I'm interested in who might be up for coming to the convention.  There's going to be a good amount of TMNT guest there so it's worth going to.   I'm going to be there with a few of my friends, and am always willing to meet up with more friends.

Toronto Con was a great convention last year, and I don't see it having any problems this year.   Last year I got to hang out with the Mirage Crew, watch Scott McNeil in a panel, see a panel with Michael S, and walk around.  I wore my costume, and did a little bit of shopping (mainly got some TMNT Shirts).   It was a ton of fun and I'm looking forward to this. Michaelangelo

Anyone who wants to check out the info and think they may be able to do this check out

Just to let you know, this is long! lol

Even though a lot of this weekend was spending time in lines and little rest it was one of the best weekends ever! First, Jared and i drove to Pocatello, Idaho to pick up Zip. The drive was ten hours which included a lot of stopping and stretching. Once there it was so late and we were tired but wired. Go figure, lol. We attempted to sleep for a bit but it soon became obvious that wasn't going to happen to we all loaded up into the car and set off for the drive back to Vancouver, Washington. Once back, Zip and i slept for a bit then had to get up so i could finish packing. We got all packed up, joked around, talked with friends online, then the next day we were off to the airport!

Now for going to Canada from the US, Hex had told Zip to make sure she had her birth certificate. Zip had her passport but i wasn't going to bring anything until Zip told me what Hex said, so i asked my mom to pull it out, thank goodness she knew where it was. At the aiport it did seem that i needed it but i didn't want to take my original with me cause i didn't want to loose it, so i got a notorized paper to take with me instead.

On the flight there we had a two hour layover in the Chicago-Ohara airport. Zip and i spent our time goofing then she started a drawing of Hex, herself and me of the RPG we're in. It was great! Loved how it came out! On the plane trips we mostly slept then we landed in the Pierson International Airport and this place is huge! Finally we found a place to buy round trip shuttle tickets, but the shuttle dropped us off two blocks away from the hotel. So we walk there, check in and Ivey was there waiting for us! We go up to our room, unpack and then we helped Ivey get the rest of her stuff out of her car which included, dun, dun, dun, the Leonardo head from the third movie.

The convention itself was huge! There was Scifi, anime, gaming stuff, horror, and comic people all there! Plus one huge bonus for me, James Marsters was there and i had a ticket to get my picture taken with him, get one autograph on an item of my choice, plus a pic with his autograph, go to a Q & A of him, and then hear an hour of him singing! *bounces*

Now the people that all of us girls met *Hand on heart* That was some of the most awesomest stuff that happened! Here's who we've met in no particular order. Kirby Morrow, who is the voice actor of Michelangelo from the next mutantion and he also is a voice actor for Miroku in Inuyasha, along with lots of other shows. He was the sweetest! We went through his line several times and one time i said to him on while recording "hey handsome" and he replied, "Hello Darling." *Faints*

And now for the Mirage crew. They were great!Peter Laird, Michael Dooney, Jim Lawson, Steve Lavigne and Eric Talbot were all there! Of all the guys the one i felt most a connection with first off was Jim, then Peter and Steve. I was around their booth several times weather i ask asking if they have seen Ivey, (They all know her personally) Or just saying hi. The last time i ask if they have seen Ivey, Peter said, "She said she was leaving 15 minutes ago." Then he gets a smile and starts joking with me. "Yeah she was with some drunk guy." Jim joined in and started saying, "Yeah and she was hanging all over Peter!" They were laughing and i was cracking up! That was awesome!

Tonu Todd from the Candyman was there too! They were charging for his auto so i simply went up and shook his hand, telling him i loved his work in that movie. He smiled and thanked me shaking my hand back. I didn't really see him smiling at the people who was giving autographs to, so that made me feel good.

Now meeting James Marster *Sigh* When i first walked up to him he shook my hand and said "Hello Darling." That put a big smile on my face! I had boughten a shirt with him on it and he commented that he liked it which i said, me too. For our pic i he put his arm around me and i leaned over into him as he did to me. The pic came out really, really good. That's what i had him autograph for me and i'm going to frame it!

When James was doing the Q & A, i had my video camera out and was recording until his producer came and told me it wasn't allowed. My mistake, so i put it away. There's two things that was asked about after i put it away which i remember. One was if he like being on top or on bottom (on top, more power) and my question, what genre of music does he like best aside from what he writes (Ska, garage bands).

During the music session i would have loved to have filmed it, but it wasn't allowed so i had to make do with listening as i set my video camera aside by the wall, pluggin it in to the plug that was there. I took a cab back and forth for that because it was late at night and i didn't want to take the subway by myself and get lost.

Ivey took Zip and i out to dinner to thank us for helping her so much this weekend. We went to Donatello's. An italian resturaunt that served some of the best italian food i ever had on this side of the world! The servers spoke italian and so did many of the customers! I spoke with some on the way out and they didn't even speak english! It was so nice to speak with people who spoke italian. I need to practice on mine, i'm way rusty.

At the hotel, Ivey and Zip and I shared the room together the first two nights, then Mily joined us on Saturday. The second night, we started an RP which was way cool! Since we were all together we could act stuff out! That was a blast! I wish we were all closer together so we could do that more often! The first night after Rping, two hours after we went to bed some alarm went off. I wake up hearing this annoying pinging and wander to the speaker, then stick my head out into the hall and hear it pinging in the hall.

I get the biggest adrenaline rush ever as i go back in the room and yell at Ivey and Zip to get up the fire alarm was going off. Both are still half asleep going "huh" then Ivey sits up as i grab my pants and the alarm stops. We wait a moment and hear nothing so i crawl back into bed, then one of the hotel people get on the speaker, "The fire department is on thier way." The alarm would beep and they'd say it again but nothing on evacuating. The fire department get there, give the all clear, but this is done in an hours time, with loud annoying beeping!

Mily joined in the RP on Saturday. We stayed up all night doing that, then got two hours of sleep before Zip and i had to get up to get ready to leave.Ivey and Mily headed out to the convention and Zip and i packed up before leaving to go catch our Shuttle. We wandered for a bit in the general area until i asked a few people we found the right spot. That was a pain, taxi drivers kept trying to tell us to let them take us and i kept saying no, the shuttle is already paid for.

Finally we get on the shuttle and boarded. It got so full people were standing in the aisle as we headed to the airport. Once there we had to go through customs again, no big deal right? Wrong! I am so getting a passport next time i fly into Canada! The US customs guy took Zip passport was fine, then starts to give me crap about having a notorized paper instead of my actual birth certificate. The worst part was he'd be laughing, get serious, then laugh again. I had no clue if he meant half the crap he said or if he was being serious. Finally we got through, Zip vouched for me and he said that was the only reason and had to wait for an hour before we boarded the plane. I was so mad! The dude scared the heck out of me, joking i can be a terminal girl. Gah! It still pisses me off!

On the flights we slept mostly, grabbed some food in Chicago and inhaled it on the plane and i wrote out most of the RP we did on the trip. I'm summerizing it so we can have a reference for continuing it! Yay!

I was very happy to be home, showed off my stuff, my James picture, then had hubby hook up another com so Zip and i can be online at the same time! That was neat! But we couldn't stay up way late. Zip's brother hurt his arm so he couldn't cover her shifts as pizza manager. We got her a plane ticket to go home this morning to Salt lake then she'll have to get her dog and be driven home. Once there, she'll have a few minutes before she has to go to work. I told her i don't expect to see you online tonight at all. Poor girl, but the trip was a blast! Zip and i are definately going to hang out more since we live close by each other.

I can't wait to talk to Ivey and Mily again! We all got awesome pictures that we need to trade off and i want a copy of Ivey's video! Wish i could go to the con in Vegas and see her again but i don't think i'll be able to afford it. So i'll have to start saving now, cause i definately want to go to another con!

Wow, Toronto Con was really a lot of fun, I met up with Ivey first on saturday and then Zip, Fae happened to be meeting with James Marsters lol, he stole her away quite frequently... Heh, anyway, as some of us might recall from Anime Next is we were all going to make T-shirts well, I actually made mine and got it signed by Peter Laird, Michael Dooney, Jim Lawson, and Eric Talbot but I missed out on Steve Lavigne! I regret that... now I don't know if I'll ever have the chance of meeting him again. Well I also bought some comics I got one of them signed.

I also had some adventures with Zip while Ivey and Fae were both busy, this included finding a MALE tmnt fan for once, a really hardcore one, he was wearing mostly tmnt gear, this included a hat and a jacket and a shirt also he had some green shoes and his hair was green. He only got to meet Zip but when I tried finding Fae and Ivey I couldn't and then he had to leave! But he walked away with $90 worth of tmnt comics...

I also hugged a giant pikachu and got picked up literally by a Klingon, he put on his right shoulder and said 'this is my prize!' It was really funny and I also have a picture of this too, I wish I took more pictures but I didn't take that many...

Well, when we found Fae and Ivey the four of us waited in lines to get autographs from Scott McNeil and Kirby morrow and Richard Cox and they are all SO nice, when we finally got up there Scott gave me a HUGE hug and also said I was good at hugging so he stole my heart a little there I think... Happy/Smile (Anime Style); Such a sweet guy,

Later on we all had a ton of fun in the hotel room and let me just say this now, they all know how to make me blush! Lol. It was really funny, the roleplaying was especially fun but we shouldn't have done it all night... so yeah the next day my body was screaming at me for sleep and I was feeling sick most of the day, Ivey even said I was burning up and I took some aspirin to get rid of any temperature I had... it really sucked, I did go see a very funny panel though. It had five of the voice actors I think all of them were InuYasha voice actors and they were just really funny, Ivey taped the whole thing.

The next day, Ivey and me packed everything up and set out on the road to which we thought was my house but we mis-heard my brother's directions and ended up going the complete opposite direction. We have pictures of us looking at a map and me pointing to my place, Ivey's place and where we were which was right in the middle of everything... Happy/Smile (Anime Style);

We did eventually make it though! Ivey LOVED my house and I did a video tour of it for her family. She stayed for two nights and I think I learned more about TMNT in that span of time than my whole life practically, I got to watch the coming out of their shells tour! (I am now a fan lol) I just loved the songs, the whole idea of it really... Happy/Smile (Anime Style) We also watched other stuff from her videos like an Oprah show with the turtles on it and her being interviewed by the Totally Obsessed show... now they exaggerated on some things so it isn't the best interview she's had. I also drove her around and she got to see a local band perform called RFP and it was a lot of fun, I was getting tired though so I didn't want to stay too long. Another friend of mine was there so I got to see her before she left for her camp. Now among other things I also registered myself for my course starting on Sept. 6th so that was good.

On the second day she got to meet my friend Mark who has the weirdest sense of humour so when she interviewed him it was really funny, her family will laugh at that I swear... Later on we sat down by the water and roleplayed, it was awesome! But we all got a little worried about the hurricane being a problem for Ivey while she drove home the next morning but it just missed us so we really didn't have anything to worry about at all, I couldn't believe it about New Orleans though wow...

Next morning we did say our goodbyes and Ivey did get home safely, Happy/Smile (Anime Style) I wanna come visit her next time and see all the tmnt stuff there, as for anime vegas... I don't think I could make it, plus it would be my fourth convention and that's really too many in one year... plus I don't have and income anymore, I'm just going to school and I don't think I can afford to miss any... Agh, three turtle VAs are gonna be there too...

Well all in all I think this was a totally awesome trip, I just have to take better care of myself on the next one.

*looks at the keyboard, than looks at sore right arm*   Ok... I'm going to do this... just not all the typing at once...  *looks up at the screen and smiles, knowing it's time*

Hi everyone!   Michaelangelo   And welcome to my novel of how Toronto Con weekend started.   Starring in this Novel is Zip, Mily and Fae (Please also check out Fae's view of Toronto con).   Co starring is Peter Laird, Jim Lawson, Steve Lavigne, Eric Talbot, Michael Dooney, Scott McNeil and Kirby Morrow.  This true story is being told by Ivey... um, yeah that's me.    *takes a deep breath and begins to tell story*

It all started Thursday morning August 25th, as I got the rest of my stuff packed in the bug, and printed up the maps to go to the convention.  I was really disappointed that I didn't have enough ink to print up the autograph pictures I made of Kirby... the ones that I did print up came out pinkish... *baps the printer*  It seemed a bit stressful trying to get things together and I really did not look forward for the LONG drive by myself.  So I closed those thoughts out of my head and finished packing the car.  At this time, my arm was it's normal... complaining self... just in the background enough to where I knew it was there... but not like it was last winter.  I jumped in the car and headed to Toronto.  Through Michigan I stayed on the phone with any friend that I could get on the phone, though as I reached the bridge to go to Canada I sent out my last call to my mom and dad telling them, that I'm in Canada so I won't be able to call them till I get a phone card.

Going to Toronto was easy for me, I took 696 to 94, which brought me into Canada onto the 402, I would go from that to 401 which would take me right into Toronto.  I had my maps ready when I finally reached Toronto, didn't seem to take too long getting there this time around.  Though there's one problem with the map I have, it gives the name of the street for the exit I want, though it doesn't give the exit number.  I did not realize that the street I wanted had more than one exit.  I got off too early and got a detour of Toronto, where the streets were packed, the right lanes were jammed with parked cars, and buses and taxis were everywhere.  Though I kept a level head, knowing I'm heading in the right direction and I'm on the right road.    It took about an hour or more on that road, because of the stopped up traffic, though I did find my turn off and was able to keep up with the map from there till I bumped into my next problem... one of the streets I was suppose to make a left turn on, Dundas st, had a no left turn sign.  Easy enough, I went down about a block and did a U-Turn.  Than made my right onto Dundas st.

I finally got to the Marriott, which was only a block away after I made that turn onto Dundas.  I turned in and found the parking Garage and this is when my stomac did a few flip flops... $19/night parking!  Oh yeah, that hasn't gone too well in my head... I parked the car down there and decided I'm going to have to see about getting help, if I couldn't get help I'd park the car else where and either walk or take public transport back to the hotel.  Feeling sick about that, I walked off and looked at the street the hotel was on... Bay st.  I didn't see any stores, just a bunch of really tall buildings.  I walked down pass the next building up to look around over there... still not seeing anything.  The building next was the Bell Towers, I went into them noticing they have stores inside... and found a small store that had what I was looking for... phone cards.  I ended up having to buy two phone cards.  One for pay phones and one to use in the hotel room ($10 worth of cards) than went and called home to let everyone know I was ok.   After getting through on the phone calls I walked back to the hotel, and asked the Front desk if they have a street map and anything in town free to do.

The lady at the front desk showed me where I was on the street map and told me to take Bay down to Queens street and there's stores I could look through on there.  She pointed out where some good stores were.  Leaving there I felt a bit weird... I ask for free stuff and I'm pointed towards stores?  What good is a store when ya got no money... so I just decided to do some sight seeing now that I have a street map in hand, and figured I'd take the rout she said.  I walked down to Queens st and noticed a LOT of people outside with hats and signs asking for money... more so than I've noticed anywhere else, which surprised me.  I thought NYC would have more people asking you for money.  Though as I walked around, a lot of them did come up to me asking for money... I'd try to tell them I don't have any and they treated me like I was lieing.

Though if I did have money, I do think I would tell them the same thing.  I don't have an income true, and as of now my doctor still says I can not return to any work.  So yes, I'm in a boat next to what they are.... though I got family helping me out, I'm signing up for state help with an income, and I'm still everyday looking for some type of job that I can do... and building up hope for the future on things I know I would be able to do.  I prey that it'll never come down to me being on the streets asking people for money.  I don't think I could ask STRANGERS for help like that.   If it's a friend that I know I can pay back, that's one thing... but begging and growling at people you don't even know to try and get something from, I can't and won't deal with that.

Being alone with no cell phone did get me to want to talk with people... so the people who were more polite about being where they were... I would say hi too.  One guy had 3 pet rats on his arm, and 3 ferrits on leashes tied to a fence near him.  I tried to say hi to him, though he seemed to have a lot of friends who knew him.  I wanted to comment on how my brother raises rats, and how we use to have ferrits.   After I walked another block from there, I bumped into a lady sitting down with a young dog.   I started to talk to her the dog was only five weeks old.. and belonged to her brother.  She's not homeless herself, though she goes out and collects money to help with the problem.  I thought that was really nice of her to spend her time helping people like that.  So I stood around and talked to her, while talking her brother showed up and told me of a place that is free where you can see plants from all around the world there.  That sounded like a good stop for me, so I had him show it to me on my map.   It was a long walk away, so I said my good byes and headed out to check this place out.

I stopped by the car on the way to check out the new place, and filled a back pack with some drinks and cheeze its so I could have something to eat while walking around.  Than looked at my map, I needed to go one block east of bay st, and take that north.  The block I had to go too was Young st.   I went out the back of the hotel, which faces South to the Bell Towers and turned east... and had to cut through some doors to get to Young st... though found a detour... the doors I cut through lead me into a Mall!  There's a Mall in the back yard of my hotel?!   So I had to do the one thing I always do when I go into a mall, find the toy store and check it out.   After looking it up on the map of the mall I went down and found "Toys, Toys, Toys"  Sure enough they did have TMNT toys.. the normal ones I see everywhere... mainly the Mutations.  I wish I could of got them though, because the packages are different in Canada with both English and French on the packages.   I walked around and saw TMNT coloring books I didn't have, and even found really cool Kermit puppet, which I tried on with my left hand... his mouth was perfect I could make him talk real well... he was $15.   Though I couldn't spend any money... not knowing the parking price... so I put everything I found back where I found them and finally headed out onto Young st.

I'm no stranger to Young st.  Last year when we went to Toronto Con, my mom and dad took me down that road everyday... it was the rout from our hotel to the convention center.   So it was nice to see some of the stuff I remember from last year like "Sam the Record Man" store, which really stood out.  Hard Rock Cafe, which I thought we might do one night for dinner.  I had to walk like two miles down this road, which got me to realize something I never realized about Toronto before... how many adult stores there are there.   Even theatres that had age limits on the front of them... showing they were for adult movies only.  This did kind of shock me, cause I'm not use to that even in the Detroit area.  Most people protest if too many of those stores and threatres try to come into areas.  I remember walking a protest line when I was a young child... I think I was in 3rd grade.  Protesting an adult threatre from coming into town.

I finally got to the street I needed, Gerrard st. and took it too the church I was told the place was behind.  Behind the Church was a nice park, there were people with their dogs and just sitting around.  Sitting looked like a good idea, though I wanted to try and do something while I was in town... and sitting wouldn't be the thing I'd want to do for memories.  I walk towards the building, and a dog caught my attention it was so excited getting to meet me.  I stopped and asked if I could pet the guys two dogs and talked to him for a minute or two before going on my way.   Once I got up to the building, I saw a lady looking in the window of it... and we started to talk.  Seems she's a part of this place, and told me that they closed at 5pm (it was 5:30 at the time), and recommended that I come back.  I told her I wasn't sure I'd be able too that weekend.    She was heading my way so we walked and talked a bit, as she tried to think of other free things to do, though by this time I'm getting tired and noticed the sun was starting to set so when I split off from her I headed back to the hotel.

On the way back down Young St. I noticed a sign that pointed up stairs to a comic shop so I checked it out.  Sure enough everyone there was talking about the convention coming up.  I looked around not being able to find anything TMNT... and I did search.  I finally gave up on my hunt and asked them, they said they're sold out of everything besides for a few back issues.  This place seemed more like a Manga store than a comic book store, I know a ton of my friends that would freak over this place.   Now a lot of people say to me isn't a Manga a comic?   True it is... though it's a Japanese comic, you won't find your normal comics in Manga format too often.  So when I speak of Mangas, I see them on a different level of entertainment.  Like anime isn't a cartoon to me, it is it's own form of entertainment.  After hanging out there for a bit, I left and went back to the hotel to sit in the lobby.... it's now going on 7pm.

While sitting in the lobby I realized just how long this was going to be of a sit and I was starting to fall sleep there.  I figured if I'm going to be paying $19 for the night with parking, I might as well just go down and sleep in my car for a little bit.  That's almost as much as a cheap motel any how.  So I went down to the bug and slept in the front seat till around 8:30pm.   I came up stairs and talked to a lady in the lobby till her family took her for dinner... than just waited... I kept looking out the window.   Around 9:30, I noticed Fae show up at the front desk with someone else with her.  Knowing she was traveling with Zip, I knew who she was.   I went up behind Fae and gave her a hug... think I took her by surprise Michaelangelo

They checked in and got three hotel keys, than we took their stuff up to the car.  Next we sat around talking a little, and finally went after my stuff which was down in the bug.  I explained the problem with the parking to them, and promised to pay Fae back.  We finally got all of my stuff up to the room, than finally came the topic of food... yeah I believe this was a little after 1am.  Hehehe yes we were having fun.   We walked down stairs, as Fae and Zip headed towards the door I went up and asked the Front desk where there was a place to eat, and he told me of a bar on Elm st. (I was thankful my hotel wasn't on Elm street or there would of been to many Nightmare jokes Wink ).   Fae, Zip and I walked over to the bar.

Once we got in I was thinking I'd get something to drink and that was it, to keep my bill under $10.  Though I saw Mosseral sticks and that made me question what I was really going to do.  I decided not to get food and to get a drink so I ordered a Strawberry Daqurie... though they don't have them, so that made my choice much easier... I ordered the mosseral sticks... and asked about the price of a cherly temple... which was just over my limit of funds so I said I'd just take a water... though Fae stepped up and offered to get that for me.  Very Happy  THANKS FAE!.  When the food got there we ate and talked... I started to notice a guy across the bar that would laugh when we would make a joke, and seemed to be listening in on what we were talking about... sure enough he was.   He started talking to us from across the bar, telling me I got a strong Detroit accent.  Than he moved to the table near us.

We nick named this guy our "Drunk Flirt", cause that's what he was.  He was sitting there with an order of Fries to go, talking to us.  Making comments about how our accent is different.. and I noticed each line that he used to try and compare was a pick up line.  I decided to do my own joke, as an inside hint that he's not getting any where with us... by mentioning how violent I am... and how I use to teach Karate.  Of course I didn't say it in a rude or threatening way... I did it in a way to where he'd know if he tried anything with us though, he wouldn't get anywhere.   Fae finally stood up and started to get ready to pay her bill...  He asked "Are you leaveing?"  Her reply was "We're leaveing."  Heh that was the final hint that we were not interested... than we paid our bill... on our way out I noticed he already left even.  So he was no threat and really I enjoyed the good laugh... it never hurts to talk with people... and there was no bad memories made of this.   We walked back to our hotel joking about our Drunk flirt and going over the stupid pick up lines he was using... "Want me to walk you to your car to help start her up?" was one of the lines... heh I know at first someone didn't get that pick up line... and was confused by what he was saying... I forget who it was (Ok not really but don't want to embrasses anyone Wink ).

Once we got back to the hotel we talked a little bit more, took some pictures and headed to bed.

Thursday night pictures!

Zip is our local Donatello, and here she is playing with Fae's Camera on the bed that Fae and her shared.
Though she wasn't haveing a good time with that Camera as she asked Fae how to use it.....

Of course Fae made a comment about how non Donny like it is, to not know how to work a camera.  So Zip gave Fae this wonderful look that I just happened to catch while taking the picture.  I love how it turned out.... cause it really did catch THE LOOK  mc_lol

(I'll post later about what happened on Friday, August 26th.)

Ah! Of all the pictures to put up, you chose those?!  It was a simple camera, okay. My mind is used is used to complication, and it's simplicity confused me.  Donatello  Haha, okay, didn't think you'd buy that. At least you didn't mention the hair dryer...er..nevermind. Anyway, I'll have my entry up soon. Works still holding me down. Friday's my day off! I've been too tired, so I caught up on a lot of sleep last night. I'll get it up soon. No worries.

Just read your entry Fae, and to me it sounds like you had an awesome time!  The Mirage Guys are always  goofy like that.  Once they get together, they're hilarious.  It's like the TMNT VAs when they get together.  It's a guy thing to act weird around others!  LOL

Kirby is one guy I wouldn't mind meeting at a convention.  I've heard a lot about him and seen some headshot photos *drooools on her keyboard*  Razz

Oh, and Tony Todd was there?  Interesting.  I've seen the Candyman movies.  Some of you know I'm into the paranormal on here, so I gave the films a chance viewing and yeah, it was very creepy!

It really was an awesome time, very relaxing too didn't feel too stressed most of the trip.  I think there was only one point where I felt a little pulled on what to do, it was nothing serious just saw an old friend I haven't talked too in a long time.... and at the same time felt I belonged elsewhere because we have plans.  Though every event, no matter how perfect it is will have those moments for ya.   Though I had a WONDERFUL time, esp when it came to what we had planned to do that day.

* Hugs Fae *  And I'm still really proud of you for getting what you wanted too done!

I'll post more about Toronto Con at Toronto Con 2005 after I get home from the Turtle Tour.

Okieday - I thought I'd post my report (copy, pasted, and somewhat edited from my LJ) and maybe it will prompt Mikey to post the rest of her report Wink

So here we are CNA 2005 - in point form (but still fairly big "points" - although not many TMNT related ones I'm afraid - sorry! No Leo costume this year)

Friday

- Picked up friends (and roomates for the weekend) Heather, Greg, and Bill. Discovered later I had forgotten to stop and pick up Kisa's costume for the masq skit later (Doh-eth!).

- Bill brought me a Muppet CD! Yippee! (I'm a HUGE Muppet fan)
Bill also brought along Spammalot which should bare the warning, "Caution! Do not listen to while driving or operating heavy machinery" since we almost went off the road a few times I was laughing so hard.

- Went shopping on Yonge St. Went to Sam The Record Man, the big HMV, and The World's Biggest Bookstore. Got the first of my booty for the weekend - a magazine with 3 big Phantom articles in it and the newest Spider-Man novel.

- Got to the con about 5:30 after changing into my Nightcrawler costume. Went up to the Mirage studios table to get my Leo sword signed. Ran into Michaelangelo, whom I made friends with last year when Micheal Sinterniklaas was here.  She had an animatronic Leo head> from the third movie for Peter Laird to sign.

- Went to watch Bruce Campbell's Man With The Screaming Brain. Wasn't really that impressed so I didn't mind when they ran overtime and had to kick us out 10 minutes before the movie ended.

-Was walking with Heather down the aisle where some of the autogragh tables were when I hear "Hey Nightcrawler!" I turn to see Brad Swaile (who did Kurt's voice on Xmen: Evolution) flagging me down from his table. He asked if we could get a pic together and I said as long as I could get one too. Very Happy/Big Grin

- Finished off the night by going to see Nash The Slash present the 1919 silent classic The Cabinet Of Doctor Caligari. That was really very cool. I've seen Cabinet before (heck I have it on DVD) but it was really neat seeing it accompanied by electric violins and mandolins (Cesare's theme was especially creepy).

Saturday

-Stood in line for 1 hour to register for the masq. Scared some little kids when I went "Oh my god! A Dalek!"

- Shopped. Picked up volumes 3 and 4 of FMA, an Al keychain (to replace one I lost), and season 2 of Farscape (for $120!!! Now I have it all! Wha ha ha!). Plus B-day presents for Sara and Heather.

- Finally saw someone cosplay Alphonse. Perhaps a little on the skinny side but props to them for getting it done at all (so says the girl whose tried three times to make one and keeps having the project bumped by other costumes)

- Ran into Mikey again. Got invited to her hotel to watch TMNT but I had to run back to my hotel to get changed for the Masq. We did get to hang out for a bit though.

- Changed into the Red Death and headed for the masq. The most amusing part of the trip was going down to take the subway and having everyone move to the other end of the platform to keep away from me.

- Had a blast at the masq. Discovered that the fellow with the Dalek was actually the Wolverine from last year, so we had a fun little X-Men renunion (especially explaining our skits to the guy dressed as the Thing - in a costume made out of real rocks!) My friend Carlos stumbled in at the end and I had to explain what was going on. He'd never seen a masq or that many cosplayers in one spot before. After about the 6th person stopped to ask me for a pic or to comment on the costume Carlos goes "A ha! I know why you do this now - it's all the attention". What? Me? Attention? *whistles innocently* Wink

My grand plan of being all artsy like and mixing lines from Phantom and Poe's Masque Of The Red Death during my walk on/skit in the masq didn't work quite so well as I'd hoped. When I had originally mixed the track it was nice and coherent but then I had to cut it down to get it to 45 secs. I would have been better to stick solely to the Leroux bits (or strictly to Poe with Phantom music).

But you know what? It really doesn't matter - the sheer wall of sound that came pouring out of the audience when the opening bars to Phantom played made it all worth it. And then amazingly it got louder when I actually walked out on stage.

So yes I am one happy cosplayer and one happy phan-girl. I had focused all my energy for CN this year on being in the masq, and I was, and I had a fantastic time.

- After the masq had an almost overwhelming urge to walk up to the Pantages theatre, where Phantom played for so many years, and have my pic taken in front of the sign. Quashed the urge (on account of no one would go with me) and followed the group to Timmies instead.

Sunday

- Went  to the Masquerade award ceremony. Got to have another nice chat with Wolverine/Dalek dude. Walked away with two prizes - Best Journeyman and Best Stage Musical Presentation.

- Finished shopping. Final booty tally for the whole weekend:
- Spidey novel
- Phantom magazine
- Alphonse keychain
- Farscape season 2
- FMA volumes 3 & 4
- A Chaney!Phantom doll dressed as the Red Death (which was my one extravagant purpose - I promised myself I'd only buy it if I won something at the masq)
- an FMA t-shirt

Heather bought me FMA playing cards and little FMA trinkets for my keychain and Bill bought me a Chaney!Phantom lobby card (I'd had my eye on a really nice Creature From The Black Lagoon one but it was gone when I went back) both as thank yous for giving them rides to Toronto.

-Got to see Michaelangelo, who was over at Scott MacNeil's table, one last time before heading to meet the others. Was a little sad that I didn't get to visit with her more but she told me where to find her online so I can say hi. HI! Wink

- Finally made it out of Toronto (stupid road signs!) after stopping at Harvey's for dinner and a wash up (my face still feels like it's sunburned thanks to three days of scrubbing and make-up)

- Got home around 9:00 and promptly went to bed.

The End

Friday:

It was time to play... and play we did.  I was the first awake, getting ready to go up to the pool.  Ask the others if they were coming, they said they would be up in a little bit.  So I got up and got to explore the pool area.  I found that I could swim in the pool because the sun warmed it up enough for my arm Very Happy I did some swimming, relaxed in the hot tub, and even went into the work out room and worked out for 15 minutes on a machine that was legs only.... though no sign of Zip and Fae...  I decided to go down and check on them, the both of them were still in bed... *blink*  So it was time to inspire them... the day has started.  Once they woke up, they did finally join me up stairs... than we came down to get ready for the rest of the day.

TMNT 1 was put onto the DVD player as we got ready for the day.  And I pulled out my video camera for memory video.. which is when I attacked Zip for the Friend interview.  Something I started doing at Anime Next, interview everyone who comes so while watching the video in the future I won't forget everyone's name and all.   So I got down in front of Zip and interviewed her, which is when I learned that her favorite villain is Baxter Stockman (which is cool now, that Scott Williams is on our forums).  I also learned that her favorite scene in TMNT 2 is the mop scene (yet she hasn't posted anything in the favorite scenes area yet Wink )  Fae was nice enough to tell the camera what we were doing in Canada, talking about the convention.  I also got Fae to translate some Italy writting on a backpack I have. (Thanks Fae!)  And I gave my little lesson teaching them one of the FEW words I know in German (Keno = Movie Threatre).

After doing our intros and goofing off in the room we went down stairs to get copies made of some color pictures, and got to get on the internet to find out what time the convention started.  We spent some money down there doing that, though was happy to just be able to get this done.  The pictures we had copied were pictures I printed up of Scott McNeil and Kirby Morrow to have signed.  Than we went up stairs with the idea to make Instance Oat Meal to be able to eat breakfast before going, though the coffee maker didn't heat up the water fast enough.  We decided than to start naming everything in the hotel.   The coffee maker was the first to be named.

Coffee Maker = Shredder
Elevator 1 = Donatello
Elevator 2 = Michaelangelo
Elevator 3 = Leonardo (who did not like to open up for on the first day, because he was getting painted)
Elevator 4 = Raphael (who liked only taking one of us at a time)

Though this made us leave a lot later than we wanted too... but before leaving we got a mircowave brought up to our room.  So we defeated the Shredder at his own game!  Bwhahahaha  But in the long run he did win, cause we had to meet the line.   We got down to the convention center and found the lines.  But Fae and Zip were not pre paid so they had to stand in a different line.  Originally I felt bad for them, thinking that line should take longer... I mean come on... Per paids get in first right?   Per Paid don't have to deal with money right?   So we're the faster line... so one would THINK... *grumble*  I stood in line and waited... and waited... it was horrabley long and it moved very slow...   Fae and Zip showed up with their pass ready to go in before I was done.   So I wasn't too happy with the way Toronto Con handled their pre paid passes.

Next part was the next line... we had to go outside, and go at least a block or two down, to finally reach the end of the line.  .. this line was insanely long and twisted around stuff down the block, up some steps back down on the other side of the steps... and logging my huge suite case with Leonardo in it, made this line even harder.  It was annoying, long and blah... though we did get to laugh a lot and make memories in the line...  even though I can't think of any right now Wink

We went up stairs and I knew right where I wanted to head, though before leading them there we stopped at THE T-SHIRT BOOTH... yes I say that all in caps, because most anytime I talk about a T-Shirt booth it's them.. be it Motor City Comic Con or Toronto Con... the same people with wonderful TMNT shirts that I want!  Though at this convention I had all of their TMNT Shirts, so I let Zip and Fae look around.  Fae did buy some things, though to my surprise she didn't get any of the TMNT Shirts... she was more after Angel from Buffy, because of her Saturday event.  After they finished looking over THE T-SHIRT BOOTH, we went towards the VA area to meet up with what ever Voice Actors were there.

Now my pain in the shell this day, was the HUGE suite case I was bringing around with me.  It was the safes way I could think of traveling with the Leonardo Head I brought.  So he was placed in a box in this suite case.   So I'm walking around with this huge suite case behind me, which trust me was a real pain in the shell.  We got to the Voice Actor area, to only see Kirby Morrow.   Scott McNeil was not there yet, and Richard Cox wouldn't be there till Saturday as well.   So the plans of getting their autographs were shot.  So I went through the back pack and got out the things that I brought Kirby to sign.  I stood there as we video taped a good part of the line time, once we were up near Kirby.  He was sitting there signing stuff, goofing around, and taking photos with the fans.  Once I got up there, I got him to read a line from the script "All in the Family".   I almost forgot how different his Michaelangelo voice is compared to all of the other Michaelangelo's out there... though the more he talked the more I remembered it from the show.

After that we went and saw the Mirage Crew, we stood around there for awhile because I had the Leonardo head and wanted to wait till Peter wasn't too busy.  Though I'm proud to say that the Mirage Crew seemed to keep busy most of the time we were there.  It was great to see so many people happy about Ninja Turtles.  A lot of people stopped to take pictures of the Leonardo head, and this is when Kusanivy surprised me as Nightcrawler.  So I got to say hi to her.  Once I saw Jim Lawson I went over and gave him a hug, saying it was good seeing him.  It was really nice getting to stand around talk to the guys, and see how they're all doing.   They had so much stuff I wanted to buy there.  I really wish I could of afforded something from each of the guys, I do enjoy supporting them while they're there.  Though I was on a very fixed spending limit there.   I bought a piece from Eric.  Oh and I got a laugh from Jim Lawson when I had him sign the one comic I complain the most about... he even put a sad TMNT face on it... (I felt that Tales of TMNT #9 brought Michelangelo really out of character... heh).  After pestering the guys for awhile, Peter finally got a little bit of time to come over and sign Leonardo.  I put him back in the suite case and got Peter to sign the other stuff I brought for him to sign.

I also had to ask Peter if I could get a drawing of Donatello for Donatello (HT), Peter said he doesn't do full body sketches at conventions anymore.  So it was a no.  Though we might be in luck, cause he had some art from a few years ago... sure enough he had a Leo, Mikey, and Donatello.  I asked how much for all three and he said $100.. eep I didn't have $100...   so than I turned around and asked him for the price on Mikey and Donny.  Still more than I could afford.  I left that day without the two sketches, knowing I was going to have to ask my mom for help.   Before leaving the convention I went back to the autograph line and got in line to meet up with Kirby Morrow again.

Durning this autograph line I learned that Kirby Morrow is also Goku in Dragon Ball!!!!  I didn't know that!!!!!!!!  I'm also a Dragon Ball fan and I didn't bring anything for him to sign.  So I was a bit down, though a guy in line gave me a card with Goku on it, so I was able to get that signed.  This time in line I got Kirby to also signed my German NT:TNM Calandar.  I also asked for him to do a group shot with us when he was done signing.  He agreed to do that, so we waited around and did a group picture.   Durning the group picture time I took out the Leonardo head, which caught Brad Swaile attention.  He had to come over and look at it.  I've met Brad before, he was Moose in Ranma 1/2 and I saw him last October here in Michigan so I didn't bring anything for him to autograph this year.

After doing the picture and show them Leo I decided to go back to the hotel.  Tired, and sore...  I figured I'd come back to the convention to meet up with Fae and Zip.  Though I just had drop Leonardo back off at the hotel... that bag was driving us all insane.... to the point that Fae and Zip were threatening to fart on Leo.... poor Leo...   Angel   So I got him back to the hotel and sat down on the bed.  I took this chance to call home and let the family know I'm ok and having a good time.  After that I called Fae to find out where I should meet up with them, and learned that they were already on their way back.  They were in our back yard mall behind us.... so I went out there to meet up with them.   Fae needed something to eat, so we stopped at a BK on Younge street, and got some food.  Than we got back to the hotel room, at the room I did our interviews than we got ready to go to the pool.

While getting ready to go to the pool a surprise happened.. Zip came out and sat down on the bed sort of laughing... so we had to check to see what happened... there was a towel in the toliet!   She went to grab something of her's and it caused the towel to fall into the toliet!  Than she left it in the toliet... so we got the video camera out and got video as Fae, threw it into the bath tub.  Than we went up to the pool and Fae even gave me a massage after we enjoy the hot tub (as well as we could... there were these kids being VERY VERY loud.. so we ended up going down to our hotel room.  Which is when we started a fun role play, and found ourselfs role playing most of the night.

I will next post about Saturday sometime.  Though the next post shall have pictures from Saturday.  Michaelangelo

Michaelangelo went in 2004 so Leonardo went this year.  I won't travel with both... it's hard enough to know I'm traveling with one.  I'm very protective over both of the heads.   They mean a lot to me.  They only went to get autographed by Peter Laird.  They won't be traveling again unless to meet Kevin Eastman, their VAs, Actors, or someone from "All Effects".
