This is really amazing~ Most of us can only remember, as children, all the opening nights of the 90s TMNT movies. Make tonight and/or the rest of the months while the TMNT are in theatres special.
I just had two of my best friends drive all the way from Florida to Mississippi (where I live) to join me for the TMNT movie tonight =D They had it totally planned for months now and surprised me while I was at work yesterday. My husband even kept it from me for two months~ who would've thought?!!!!!
Wear your favorite TMNT gear, take pictures, and post it here if you'd like. GO GREEN MACHINES!!!

I wore my TMNT t-shirt! I couldn't take pix or anything [nor did I think of it], as my Dad would've thought I was nuts! Lol. But, if I manage to swing a poster in a few weeks when it hits our theater [the good clean one] I'll take a pic or two-lol.
And just like the first movie, my Dad & I went to see it - only, I didn't end up in his lap this time - lol. It wasn't scary. But, definitely AWESOME!!!!!

Ok I know there was meet ups all over the place, so people can talk about their memories of seeing the movie here.
I hope everyone had a GREAT time and I will give my reviews of seeing the movie on March 23rd! This topic is for every meet up. This isn't a review of the movie topic, for that go to No Spoilers and Spoilers. So please keep this topic about the meet ups, what you did, where you went, pictures you took, what you wore... ect! Thanks for starting the topic Mindy! Moving it to memories since this is memories about the event not reviews of the movie.[/size] Eclipse, Iruka and I took pictures at the TMNT movie poster than the theater was like "You have to take those Cameras to the car" it's like... wha? We're going to take pictures of the movie? Give us a break... but no they chased the camera out. I can share the pictures when I put them up. We also went to McDonalds and I do have some pictures from when we were there. TMNT TOYS AT MCDONALDS! I wore a TMNT shirt, hoodie, and jacket. I carried a Gaint Movie Star Mikey, a photo pouch with pictures from events of the past and for the 8:40pm showing I brought my Mikey costume head and wore that there. Even got to talk to kids at the theater. Just wearing the heads and Kids still thought I was real. Eclipse and Iruka both wore TMNT Jackets (green ones) and Eclipse carried my giant movie Leonardo toy and Iruka carried my giant Raphael Toy. Shadow Wolf carried the giant Raphael toy. So all of the giant original movie toys from 1991 went to the movie with us. Everyone was asking where they could buy those. We're like back in 1991 at Toys R Us, now we don't know. *G*

Okay--- here we go! I wore my Fight Like a Ninja Turtle shirt and carried my Leo with me-- BL wore her green Raphie shirt and carried her lil' Raphie. This was helpful in that Zkarlette was able to walk right up to us! Pictures! We met at CityWalk at Universal Studios. BL and Skarlette chilling while we wait... Rein finds us! And then the rest! GreenWillow has green wooly feet-- actually, this is funny in that she emailed me about the weather because she wanted to wear sandals! Here is my Leo with the ticket. And here is ME! Afterwards Dawn, Rose, and Dawn's friend had to leave to pick up Brina in Anaheim, so Rein, BL, Skarlette, GW and I went up to the Panda Inn and ate lunch in the food court-- we must have talked for HOURS! Then GW, BL and I decided to go see the film again. Sadly, Rein and Skarlette had to leave, but both had plans to go to the film again this weekend with family members. And that was our exciting day!

That's it, I'm going on a diet. GAH... Midlife's made me a new woman - and I don't particularly like the new dress size. Meh. Just the same, it was good to meet everyone, of course - goes without saying. Yes, I saw the movie a second time Friday, the 3:30 showing in fact. With my son. He thought it was great, btw. My husband has to see it next and then my daughter. That'll make four times for me total, unless I double up between them. Did ya hear that the movie made almost $25.5 million this weekend so far? Out did 300 and Shooter! Yeehaw! Take that, you ugly critics. :0) Hopefully the word will get out that it's a fun movie so that sales increase exponentially, thereby ensuring the chance for sequels. BTW, has anyone heard from Leonardo (Kim) from Japan? They had 7.1 earthquake west of Tokyo yesterday and I was wondering if it effected her and Ninjara in any way. Hope they're safe!!!!! Rene'

(thanks for movin' the topic, Mikey! that works out better~) It was a fantastic night!! My two buddies from Florida, my husband, two of my local buds, and I all went to the 9:10 showing. The theatre was packed, the crowd was happy, and I even saw my coworker and his children there! It was cool to see him because he never really takes his children to the movies since it costs so much and he has four kids, Anyways, here are a couple of pictures (sorry that it's a bit dark) : TMNT postah~~!!! I'm the third one from the left (in the blue). Haha, we're such dorks! --- I even got the crowd to clap at the end, too.

Ditto to all of the above, although I saw it again the same day we all got together at Universal. Two more people in the family to watch it with - should have had more kids. LOL Yep, good to meet you, Zkarlette. :0) Need to get together again sometime soon. :0) Oooo...maybe see the movie again? Michelangelo (Ivey) has seen it at least 9 times this past weekend, which includes the premiere the Saturday before. Goodness, I'm just 'green' with envy. LOL I just hope that the Youtube uploads won't ruin the profit margin for Monroe and company. I've seen so many shots from the movie that were not part of the official trailers make it up there and you know they're pirated. Did you notice that ushers kept coming into the theater and looking the crowd over and even regularly dressed people would come in, sit for a while, look around, and then leave? Yeah, I saw that happen on three occassions. Before long, theaters will have to monitor all new releases the way airlines have marshalls, sans guns. Sad, sad, sad. Sometimes too much technology is NOT a good thing.

Heh, that is true I forgot that one other person was not in the picture so technically I would've been third from the left... unless he stood at the left.. then I would've been fourth.. but STILL third from the right, hahahaaha! *is smart* Er... movin' along~~ I wasn't trying to pose like Judith Hoag but ah well! Love irony

I went to the 4:30 showing at a theatre in Campbell on Friday with my mom. It was a great experience and everyone in the theatre enjoyed it.
I would like to see the movie again -- maybe next month when my birthday comes around, which would totally work out.

I made a TMNT shirt for the movie, I will post a pic when I get one, I went on opening night to the 7:10 showing with my advanced tickets bought earlier in the day. I dragged my boyfriend Mike and my best friend Suzy, my parents already had grilled me on how 'nerdy' it was to make a tmnt shirt but I made one anyway, and no one saw it, jeez, I don't know why people care so much anyway. I used iron-on transfers to put the new TMNT letters from the movie poster right on the shirt I used a pic off the internet and modefied the letters on photoshop, I thought it looked awesome. I was also 'eeeing' like, every five seconds (quietly of course) during the movie and trying to understand the plot before it was fully explained lol. It was so great,

On opening night...here is my story.... (yes, I've had some fun writing it)Ninjara and I were flying to Japan. Why you might ask was Ninjara with me? I had extended to Raph's fave fox the opportunity to join me for some sword training and then sight seeing in Japan. (With my sensei's sensei. Although the joke amongst the Japan group even during sight seeing was "the training never stops", and I'll explain that another time in another post .) As for going to sword training on the day the movie opens: hey? I'm a Nardo! I'm supposed to go on a trip to Japan and stuff to improve my skills. Right?? We crossed the International Date Line, and were Fast Forwarded into the future. Where opening day was already a thing in the past. Fortunately, we were only FFed ahead 1 day!! So our gear didn't get all modernized, we didn't see Cody or anything.... Instead of seeing TMNT we saw three movies!! The Prestige (ugh), Rocky Balboa's newest (I tuned out), and Night at the Museum (amusing). We contemplated the inflight information about the temperature being 58 below zero. Glad we opted for the creature comforts of flying in the cabin, well-disguised of course. I like to reduce the number of times I have to go through extreme meditation to survive something. So that was opening night!! For us seeing the movie the first time on 4/2.... We were on the Red Eye flight coming from Japan. It leaves Narita in the afternoon. We were thrown 1 day back into the past, crossing the International Date Line. Whew!! Saw the Curse of the Golden Flower (I thought it okay but overly hyped), then slept a bit. We woke to landing in San Francisco, then got home at 3:30 pm. Being a Nardo, I showed up for sword class at 5:30 pm, and Ninjara went with me. We did some light training, and it felt soo good after being cramped in the plane on one of those overnight flights. Adding disguise over turtle shells and cramming into those nasty little airline seats, and try to sleep, too?...ugh. At 10 pm, we were still on Japan time, so we went to that showing of TMNT. The theatre was almost ours. Which was a good thing because Ninjara was about to start shredding the seat during the previews. And then during Raph's best moments?? Popcorn was flying everywhere!! (joking! Ninjara was very well behaved)Then we went again the next day with Aig!

Opening Night nothing...
I was there before the theater even opened that morning, and caught it six times on Friday alone. The last showing was at like 12:30, and I was literally having trouble seeing straight.
And then I turned around Saturday and did the same thing all over again.
If I ever do something like that again--not planning on it, but never say never--I'll be sure there's a 24-hour coffee source nearby. I lucked out--there was a 24-7 Starbucks just across the street from the theater just off Times Square. All told, Friday and Saturday, I probably went through about three dozen shots of espresso or something. And yes, I really did conk right out when I got back to my hotel.
Speaking of which, even getting back to my hotel was a bit of an adventure, since the only subway line out there--the 7--was under construction. Instead of a straight shot from Times Square to Flushing, I ended up taking--think it was the E train--out to Jackson Heights, and THEN transferring to the 7. It worked, but it was clunky.
Ran into one other lister from the 'Drome, I think he said, at the late Friday screening. He took a picture of me with my six tickets for Saturday--wonder how that turned out.
Anyway, spent most of Friday and Saturday voting with my wallet and trying to memorize the film. Didn't see much of the city, but that wasn't the point. Ilsa and Rick will always have Paris, and I'll always have New York, so it was wall-to-wall moviegoing for me for a couple of days straight.

Oh, I envy you to be in Japan with your sensei's sensei. I whish I could train in Japan, too, but it' still too expensive for me as a little student. And beeing a Nardo myself, I sooo understand you to go to a swords training before going to the movie. I even would disclaim the movie to go to practise. I somehow am not that interested to see the movie, I even don't know, if it's running here in germany now. Does this make me a less TMNT fan? And what means opening night...is it a kind of "Sneak Preview"?

And what means opening night...is it a kind of "Sneak Preview"? Opening Night is when a movie first opens for public viewing. Premiere night is when those who worked on a film get to see the movie in a regular theater, the way we would, only it has a little more 'bang' or celebration to it. Opening Night here in the US was March 23rd. And it doesn't mean night all the time, either. Sometimes it's Opening Day, since we saw the very first showing at 10:25 a.m. Hope that explains it well enough. :0)

Meh. Mine isn't very exciting. I went with my kids to the first showing at 11:30 am on opening day, saw it again a week later with my daughter while my son went to see 300 again, a third time when Leo and Ninjara the day after they got back from you-know-where, and then a fourth time after going out for sushi, the last night that Ninjara was here before she went home. I'm looking forward to the DVD coming out, now.

I saw it a second time - with my Dad again. Did manage to swing the poster! Whoot! The guy ordered two brand new ones, for myself & another fan who'd asked for it. He did this, so they'd be in perfect condition & not have any holes in them. And when my Dad asked him if we owed him anything, he replied with, "Just keep coming back." Then later, the guy who had been ripping the tickets in half - the usher, I guess he's called - came in the theater before the movie, and came up to where my Dad & I were sitting in 5th row. He gave me a movie splice, that he'd spliced out the day before. Said he'd spliced the movie & the piece he gave me was the only piece to actually have a turtle on it, & he figured I might like it. I'm going to frame it, soon as I get a little frame for it! It definitely pays to talk to the people who work there - my Dad was talking to the owner, who'd gotten the poster for me. My Dad was like, "She's been collecting stuff for years." And I was like, "2o years." & the usher was like, "big collection?" & I was like, "Not as big as I'd like, but I've still got a few things." Lol.
And I actually sat through the WHOLE movie this time/! The first time, I had to pee right when they did the whole, "This has Winter's name written all over it." bit. But, I saw the whole thing, & still laughed at the same parts as before. And everyone seems to highly enjoy Mikey wanting to give up his huge turtle head at the end - lol. It was mostly kids, some parents, & then a few teenagers. Lol.
I can't wait for it to come out on video! I keep telling everyone how Awesome it was & my Mom's always like, "Well just have to get it when it comes out then, won't we?" And in the semi-words of Raphael - "Hell yes!" Lol.

Life has been a little nuts here since I got back, so I haven't had a lot of time to check in at TMNT-L......did Leo answer that question about the earthquake? I was just reading through..... No. We weren't affected by the earthquake at all. Didn't even feel it. I was thinking about something like that occuring when we were flyng over. When I turned on the t.v. the next morning and saw there'd been one I wasn't too surprised. I half expected it for some reason. Premonition I guess. Opening night, for me, was like Leo described.....pretty much.....except I was remembering how I expected, as a child, that in the year 2000 and whatever, we'd be living like the Jetsons......and why the heck couldn't I be in two places at once?

I haven't shared yet, because I wasn't here at the time... This movie brought me back into the fandom. It kinda went like this: Me: *studying* Friend: *bursts in* Friend: There's a new Ninja Turtles movie and you're going to see it with me! Me: *completely confused* At the time, I probably hadn't watched any Turtles in 15 years, and had forgotten pretty much everything. So I turned to that wonderful procrastinatory tool known as YouTube, and re-educated myself. And then I saw the movie. And I liked it. And that's half of how I got here.
