I don't have the pic to prove it-- my niece has to email it to me-- but tonight while at the mall, Suncoast had an  advertisement board said that the TMNT dvd would be available JULY 24 OR JULY 25TH!!! (can't remember the date)!!  I'll keep you posted!

Someone at another site thinks Suncoast has the wrong date.  But at least I got this piccie.

Someone needs to beg, beg, beg for that poster if indeed it's the wrong one.  Do you remember when Return of the Jedi was originally titled, Revenge of the Jedi, and then Lucas - or whomever - decided that 'revenge' wouldn't be part of a true Jedi's thought process?  Not sure how that happened, but it was the wrong title, only the powers that be didn't catch it in time before it went public.  Whoever managed to snag a poster with the incorrect title is probably sitting on a mint right now, that is if they haven't sold it yet!

So, if the date of release for the TMNT is incorrect, it could be worth a little more than what a normal 'old' poster (think 10-20 years from now) would get on EBay.

Just a thought.

I could be smoking my socks, too.  LOL

Anyhew, should be interesting to see if Suncoast does end up selling the TMNT DVD on that date.  I'll be in line, you can bet!  :0)

Warner Home Video announced that TMNT arrives on DVD Aug.7 from director Kevin Munroe and Imagi ($28.98 for single disc, $39.99 for HD-DVD Combo and $34.99 for Blu-ray Disc).

TMNT catches up with the gang after the defeat of their archrival, Shredder. The group’s leader, Leonardo, (James Arnold Taylor) has been sent by Master Splinter (Mako) to Central America for training. He is urgently called back into action by old friend April O’Neil (Sarah Michelle Gellar) when the terrible situation turns for the worse in New York. Back home, the turtles must set aside their differences and take on Maximillian J. Winters (Patrick Stewart), whose army of ancient monsters threatens to take over the world.

Bonus features include:

* Commentary by writer/director Kevin Munroe

* Alternate opening: Splinter tells the backstory. Casey and April in an alternate ending.

* Deleted scenes including Mikey sneaking food to Splinter

* Side by side comparison of storyboards and CGI action

* Interviews with voice talent Patrick Stewart, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Laurence Fishburne and filmmakers.

Yes, they changed the opening!  I'm stoked.  Although I have the highest respect for Fishburn, I just didn't like how they opened the movie.  It sounded cheesy to have someone other than one of the characters do the job.  Far better to have Splinter do this, as his insight carries more weight.

Have any of you seen the new Transformers movie?  It sort of begins with a similar opening.  The narrative backstory, etc...  And it sort of ends the way TMNT did, with dialogue from the Transformers assuring their presence in the world.  I thought it was rather funny that two wildly popular fandoms would start and end the same way

Good movie, though.  I thought they did great with the CGI's and hiding behind the house was hilarious. I mean, for cryin' out loud, they're HUGE!  How can anyone NOT see them?  That was funny, but it was kind of ridiculous, too, for obvious reasons.

Anyway, whoot!  Less than a month for the TMNT DVD release.

I just wish I had a Blue-Ray DVD player and where we just bought a new one before BR became available (our old one died)...I have a bit of a wait.  Hey, by then, though, Blue Ray will be replaced with something better and probably more expensive.  LOL

*coughs* Anybody else pre-order it yet???? I've saved about $5 by doing so - though, really I saved $10 'cause my Mom said for me to only give her $25 - so she's paying the shipping & handlnig & taxes - lol. In total, I've paid $29.78 for the movie & it should arrive somewhere between Aug. 10th & 14th. Sure, almost a week later worse case scenario, but I've waited THIS long, so what's a few extra days??? Lol.

Seriously, I thought you could rent videos before they were released to video - why I though that, I've no idea. But I was practically in tears when I found out I couldn't rent TMNT yet - I've been wanting to watch it again SO badly for the past couple weeks & itr's driving me CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And now, there's no point in renting it - I'm buying it! Haha!

~Lenni~

P.S. I pre-ordered on amazon.ca

Get ready for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to hit high-def this summer, when Warner Home Video debuts the big-screen redux 'TMNT' on Blu-ray and HD DVD.

An all-CGI animated retooling of the live-action 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle' trilogy that scored big in the early '90s, 'TMNT' opened to a strong $24 million take at the box office this past February, but quickly wilted with a worldwide gross of barely $85 million.

Warner hopes to reverse the Turtles' fortunes when it gives the film a simultaneous bow on Blu-ray, HD DVD and standard-def DVD on August 7.

No specs have yet been announced, but Warner is billing the releases as special editions, so we look forward to significant bonus materials.

List price will be $34.95 for the Blu-ray version, and $39.98 for the HD DVD, which will be a combo platter.

We've added preliminary listings for 'TMNT' to our Blu-ray Release Schedule and HD DVD Release Schedule, under August 7. Stay tuned for full specs to be announced in the coming days.

So far the only thing that bugs me is they didn't bother to interview the turtles VAs! Why couldnt they do any of the commentary!?!? I would have loved to have heard it from THEM and Kevin Munroe.

Overall, not a bad review. Though, it makes me fear how The Chipmunks will fair when their movie comes out in December - especially with their changed look. Eep!

But, GO TMNT!!!!!!!!!!!! TWO WEEKS!!!! [maybe less-haha]

I am mad that the DVD is a flipper!!!  and cheap shell paper dvd case. They could have put both full & wide screen formats on the same side with a nice a graphic, I fear that those  of us  who plan on getting the DVD are getting ripped off!!!! Don't you??
