...Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or just Mutant Ninja Turtles now? I'm seeing two versions of it flying around. The cartoon has "TMNT" though.

Well... I think it's always going to be TMNT no matter what anyone says, I mean they're still teenagers, but if you're talking about the comics then... well I dunno but MNT just isn't enough you need the extra 'T'.

Peter Laird is keeping it as "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" even with the comics where they're no longer Teenagers, it's still called TMNT.   Though in the show and I'm sure the movie, they'll still be teenagers.

They're 32 in Volume 4 from best estimates.

I've always been partial to the powers that be just shortening it to "Ninja Turtles" with a dynamic new logo when the Turtles were to hit 20, but yeah, looks like Laird still favors the "Teenage Mutant" on there regardless. Weird, if you ask me.

Well if you think back to the story of the creations..

Kevin named them "Ninja Turtles"
Peter added "Teenage Mutant"

Since that was really the part of the title that he added to it, I'm sure it holds a connection with him.

I don't see why they hafta mess with the name. It should just stay the same so they can make a tribute to the original comics and what Eastman and Laird created. I don't feel offend if someone decides not to include the word "Teenage" in the name but it makes 'em look bad if they decide to do that. People shouldn't even bother messin' with the name unless they decide to shorten it for certain reasons. The word "Teeange" will probably remain in the title no matter how old they are. The fans would probably be disapointed if Laird decides to change/shorten the name for good. I call 'em Ninja Turles for short sometimes but that's cuz I don't always wanna say the four-word title. It makes things easier sorta like callin' Raphael Raph for short. I would call somebody by their nickname if they have one and if their name is two or more syllables long.

I liked Erik Larsen's idea. When the Turtles turned 20, he mentioned they might keep the logo the same, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," but just draw a big "X" over the teenage in the logo for the rest of the run.
