If the Turtles were real [or even not, like they are] would you choose them over your most favourite celebrity?????????????
I just thought of this, as someone mentioned they wondered what Brad Pitt would think if he knew we were arguing over the Turtles - lol.

Personally, I've no idea - though, I checked the "Maybe....it's possible.....". I picked that one, as I LOVE Raph & Leo sooooooo much! But I also LOVE Brian & Kevin sooooooo much!!!!!!! I mean, it's very hard for me to choose & would depend on what kinda mood I'm in when asked. For me, TMNT is like the cartoon version of BSB - They've both won my hearts & have had me as their fan for at least 10yrs or more [20 for TMNT] & I just can't ever imagine not loving them. They're a huge part of my life, and to choose between them is like asking me to choose between Jonathan Taylor Thomas & Brian Littrell - it all depends on my mood, what day it is, & who I've seen most recently.
So, seeing as I said "who I've seen most recently" - for today [for now at this moment] yes, I would choose TMNT [though, I am thrilled Kevin Richardson & his wife are FINALLY gonna have a baby!!!!!! Whoot!!! Lol]. Tomorrow though, is another story.....Haha.

Oh, let me think about this...hmm...yes. I would choose the guys over my favorite celeberty! Here is my reasoning:
1.) Celeberties are usually very stuck up and yeah...can we say spoiled?
2.) The guys are more humble so they would probably treat a girl like gold.
3.) Celeberties can get any one that they want and sleep with anyone they want. The guys, I can't see them as being the type who would sleep around...Maybe Raph but he would still treat every girl he was with like gold.
Yeah...I know they're very dreamy but hey, a girl can dream!

You pose some VERY good points, Ris. Though, BSB isn't stuck up - well, 99.9% of the time they're not - but this is an obsessed fan speaking here. And I'm sure Raph would treat a gal like gold - until she broke his heart - then he may fly off the handle, or he just may be a lil' gruffer than usual - lol. But, I'ma love him anyway!

I'm the one who said that about Brad Pitt wondering why we would fight about the turtles, and not him.ha! ha! ha!.I prefer Donnie to him anyway. And Leo,Mikey and Raph can whoop Tom Cruise big time.TC annoys me. the BSB guy who would remind me of Donnie is Howie. I love their Backstreet's Back music video.also Larger than Life.

Personally, far as I'm concerned, BSB is better than a helluva lotta celebs out there - same with TMNT. I mean, why choose Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise when you can have a Ninja Turtle or Backstreet Boy?!?!?! Like, HELLO!!!!! BSB is sweet & the Turtles are AWESOME!
~Lenni~
P.S. Wonder just how many celebs would suddenly declare they like TMNT or try to become one, after learning we'd mostly pick TMNT over them - haha.

Honestly yeah. I never really had a celebrity crush, just silly little short lived interests like with Vin Diesel- cos he's all strong and he's just hot as Riddick...but if it came to him or Raph...Raph wins. I'm sure he'd be hard to live with sometimes, he'd be a slob..I'm a slob...perfect match! And him knowing all to well what real loneliness is like, he'd treat a gal like a princess. Raph neeeeeeeeds the love.....

I've read somewhere that Kevin Richardson of BSB also played Donatello in Disneyland Orlando before he became BSB member. And they are also Star Wars fans.they fell in line for the first day opening of The Phantom Menace.

He gave that up in an interview years ago - lol. I felt so proud! Hehe. You see why I've such a hard time deciding? Lol. And I've been crushing on Jonathan Taylor Thomas for 15yrs - BSB for 10! TMNT for about 20 - lol. ~Lenni~

I would say yes, it would be very interesting to see something so real like that. But the TMNT will be crowded upon, people with have never before seen anything so fascinating, so yeah it would be amazing.

For all things holy, TMNT must come before all other celebrities. To me, they are celelbrities anyways. And I like them ten times more than any actor or actress.

The question is...choose them for what? To fight crime? Yes To act in a movie? Probably not As musicians? Hmmm...tough call. Let's face it, a big part of the TMNT is that they're supposed to live in secrecy. Hard to be a touring rock act when you can't let people know about your existence. To hang out with? Once again, hard to say. It's all well and good to say "Celebrities are stuck up, etc" but, if you haven't met them in person, how do you know? You know what the media wants you to know. To be mutant turtles? Yes, that one's pretty certain. This is, of course, going under the assumption that they are real. Because, honestly, if you just think about them as being fictional than choosing them over living breathing people is rather silly.

I didn't think of questions! Gah! I think I'd just choose them for the sake of choosing them. Except for the acting thing... though Mikey might do well, were he allowed!

I think we need to question the need to think about that. I'm not sure our celebrity culture is healthy. We're saturated in externalization.

saturated in wha?????/ Big words! To me, TMNT are real - I still remember seeing [yes seeing] them in the sewers when looking down a hole on a sewer lid. I swear to this day that I saw Raph's hand reaching up for the manhole cover! I swear it! Though, it wasn't in New York at all - it was in North Bay, Ontario. Lol. They'll always be a part of my life NO MATTER WHAT!I choose TMNT to be my heroes! Like they always have been & always will be! And BSB - sorry, but I'm biased to them - lol. I'm sure they can be jerks at times, but they still do a lotta good. [ex. Save The Music, Children's Miracle Network, Make A Wish Foundation, Dorough Lupus Foundation, Healthy Heart Club For Kids, etc.] And yes, I know you're not saying that they haven't done any good, I'm just pointing it out. and they make fantastic music! Lol. ~Lenni~

It means our entire lives are lived ourside of ourselves and we define ourselves by our relation to other things.. what country we're from, sports team, shows we watch.. It reminds me of Borg.
"I am 3-9. What is Your Designation" "I am 30 female american idol, redbull, silver ipod, 44000 a year, two kids"
o O
The difference is TMNT are fictional characters and in exploring them we can ask questions about ourselves and the world and life. We can't do that by being obsessed with our newest idol. No stories can be written about them without a lawsuit and I doubt you could learn anything about yourself from them.

I've written plenty of stories about my fave stars - and a few about TMNT. They won't sue you - besides, the majority of us put Disclaimers on our fics. As for learning anything about yourself from them, I've learned I highly enjoy helping others and seeing people's dreams come true.
But, to each his own, I guess.

~Lenni~ Just because they haven't sued doesn't mean they can't or won't. I remember Saban clamping down on Power Rangers websites & fics about 9 years ago, and they did threaten to sue one guy who had a website up. Most companies do realize that fans are not making money from their characters but some aren't so understanding. Fanfiction.net doesn't allow fanfics about 'real' people any more and I'm guessing it's to avoid any potential lawsuits - they'll also pull categories if the owners of the copyright complain. We're very lucky that Mirage, etc. allow us to have websites or write fanfics about their characters.

Wow. That's totally insane! But I really don't see BSB suing, as people have posted Fan Fiction on their Official Fan Club - they even made a section for it.
~Lenni~
P.S. Yay for Mirage no suing! I'd be lost without TMNT fics!

Let me think about this... let's look in my thought bubble Me: Oh my gosh it's Alexa Vega, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sarah Brightman, and all my favorite celebrities!! Leonardo(TMNT): Hey. Michelangelo(TMNT): Hi ya dudette!! Raphael(TMNT): Yo. Donatelo(TMNT): What's up? Me: *look at celebrities* ... *look at turtles* ... Oh lookie! It's a cliff! *shove celebrities off than run up to the turtles* You guys are gods!! Yep. i gotta choose the turtles.

I chose the maybe option. I think it would depend on which celebrity it was. If I saw Tom Cruise or Johnny Depp, I'd choose Leo over them any day as I can't stand them. But if it was one of my favoriter wrestlers like John Cena, then I'd be torn.

That's easy for me: The TMNT are already my favorite celebrities! I like other celebrities sometimes if I can relate some of their personality/character's traits back to one of the TMNT.
