Pick your Characters

Hey everyone,

I won't be taking part in the RP with a lot going on.  But I'll help get one started.   In this area people can pick their characters.   This is for one game only, each time an RP starts people will get to trade up on characters so others will get a chance.

Rule:  
No controlling other people's characters
Keep to rules of TMNT-L.   If those rules are found broken (romances going to far in a forum RP or swearing) the RP will be edited and locked.  

If anyone else can think of another rule that should be applied let us know and we'll add it in.

Also in this topic discuss a little bit about what universe you want this first RP to be taken place in.   On May 15th, we'll start a topic for RPing to be done in.   That gives everyone 15 days to discuss this and see where they want to go with it.

Ok, so how do we play?

First gotta pick characters, first come first get type thing.

My character would be Michelangelo. Now what?... I might quit after a while so... don't expect me to stay long.

We see who gets other characters.  Once the characters are picked, we'll worry about the where, when and who stuff.

I'll play April.

My preference would be to play from the movies or the 2003 'toon. I've only read the first 12 comics of Mirage Vol. #1, so I can't exactly say that I have that version's characterizations nailed, but if Mirage April is significantly different than the 2003 'toon, if someone can brief me on her in that version I'll give it a shot.

Anyone else up for playing?  Please let us know your character.  If you already have a character here please do not reply, so that we can just focus on getting more players into the game.

Will there be a game leader or something, who tells what the story is about? If so, is he/she going to play a character him/herself?

I only know such games without the game leader playing an own character, but tells what's going on every time. That means he says who is doing or seeing something.

I myself like to play Leonardo, but often found myself lost in the games, because of the game leaders playing their own characters and fully forgot about the other players and accordingly only talked with the characters of their "forum-friends". So I stopped playing because of this. Additionally I don't know all TMNT universes and with this what Leonardo is supposed to do in the game leaders story.

....or is this rule for the game leader relevant only in a life-roleplay? What do you think?

Personally never been a game leader fan.  I think when the game is started, we'll do a setting real fast for you guys to start with than we'll just let you guys have at it.  As long as the rules that are brought up are followed, than there shouldn't be any harm.

but i dont play a mean scumbag raph like i've heard others play...he's not a bad person, just misunderstood haha

Well, since Leo is taken, I'll be Angel. We don't see her that much in the 2K3 series, which is what I would prefer to play, since I haven't read the comics at all.

Wow don't know how I feel behind in this topic.  Everyone is up to date on who is who in the first post.

Buslady asked for Raphael first, so since Raphael and Nightwatcher are one in the same character, the character is taken.

We still need some bad guys in this RP.  Any one out there wanna RP the villain?  

Someone role playing a villain can be both a good guy and a villain - though must respect that the good guy doesn't know what the villains are planning and the villains do not know what the good guys are planning.  Not like any of it won't be in the open for everyone to read any how

Ok, we got enough characters to get a thread started, esp with one villain.  I'm not taking any characters in the RP, though will do an opening thread for everyone to give people something to work off of.  Anyone want to join in the RP will be told in the opening thread to get their characters from here.  Anyone in the RP should mark the thread on watch, so that you get emails when replies are done to that thread, so that you're not falling behind in the RP.

You'd have to talk to Buslady, I don't think she'll mind since she hasn't made one move in the RP.  Though you really should of waited for a reply here before taking action in the RP since Raph was taken in the names of the RPers on the first post in this topic...

It would be rude to break the rules that was came up with for this RP.  She did call Raph first.  I'm sorry ya haven't got to play him yet.  Though we don't want to steal characters away from people who already claimed the character.

The RP had taken part here on the board, but the original RP topic was locked, pending some review of the rules and such.  It is still being reviewed.
