Anybody notice the movies always seem to center around Raph somehow? TMNT 1 - It shows him taking off & finding april, & his temper & how he freaks when they find Splinter gone & then Raph gets hurt, & the Raph/Leo tub moment, & all that. TMNT 2 - Raph & Keno go off in search of The Foot against orders - they're both similar in some ways. Impulsive & all. TMNT 3 - Raph with his temper & him telling Yoshi to watch his temper & realize he sounds like Leo. TMNT 4 - Raph/Leo centric. Their huge falling out, & then the great rescue. ~Lenni~

I hope you're not suggesting there is a problem with that. I guess the writers are just trying to show you that the whole "Good ones end in "O"" bit is false...

I agree that the movies are often Raph-centric. *thinks Raph has been paying off the script writers* I'm sure we could come up with a number of stories for a movie where Raph gets put to the back so Don and Mike in particular get more quality time.

thats cos he's the most troubled, the most conflicted...he's easy to write a story around. And it's neat to watch him learn from his mistakes and grow.
edit: lol replied again to this...added more comment too...

Nope, not saying it's bad - I love it! Lol.
I was just simply observing, 'cause I've been falling asleep to TMNT 1 playing on my DVD player - lol.
And yeah, Raph does seem to be the easiest to write about. He's got all that passion & anger mixed inside him - & he's such a lovable turtle!

I hope you're not suggesting there is a problem with that. I guess the writers are just trying to show you that the whole "Good ones end in "O"" bit is false... I reckon the hood ones end in "O" that was funny when Mikey said that. I don't really care about whether they center Raph or not, as long as Mikey is in it and does something to help it makes me all good.

I think the reason Raph shows up onscreen so much is that he's just so much fun for the writers. He can say and do a lot of things that other characters couldn't. Seriously, could you imagine Donatello saying, "You want a butt-kickin', little fella?" Or Mikey saying, "Crime didn't take a holiday. You did"? Or Leo saying, "I'm done takin' orders"?
As a writer, Raphael gives you so much freedom as a character because you can make him do almost anything and still be in character. Try taking Nightwatcher and making him any of the other TMNT. Can't be done: Mikey doesn't have the save-the-world attitude, Don is too passive, and you can't easily write Leo as a vigilante. Raphael has a hard-as-nails exterior, but dig a little deeper and you find he's got a very big heart. He wants to save the world by fair means or foul, which is a paradoxical attitude that's so much fun to explore.
I'd better shut up before I do a dissertation...

I don't think Raph pays off the writers.he does warn them that if they don't write more about him,he's going to be sarcastic.
