This is a normal convention for TMNT fans to go to, surprised it's not listed already.

TMNT Guest:
Kevin Eastman
Stan Sakai
Michelan Sisti

Fans going:
Brinatello
cynlee
zkarlette
reincarnated_turtle_fan
GreenWillow
Leonardo

Location: San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA

Cost:  Haven't found it listed on the page yet.  (The area where I normally get that is the connection site that helps me find guest, but for some odd reason they don't list the price for this convention).

Update to say:
I am most likely going to have to cancel going this year, so you can list me as a question mark.
Ninjara is unable to go for a number of important reasons, and we were going to be sharing a hotel room.
That professional friend of mine is expecting to have her own room, and I can't afford the hotel room on my own. I'll confirm my cancellation status in a couple weeks.

Thank you for adding Stan Sakai to the list of guests.  Very Happy/Big Grin

Good luck cynlee!!!
I hope you make it!!!

I am planning on wearing my Leo costume for a short time on Friday, to the UY booth, and hopefully over to catch Kevin E., too. I promised the UY Dojo I would do it since last year, but told them no way on Saturday.
It'll be a lot of work to put it on and do it, but if I don't...I think they will kill me.

Ok, I'm not going to SDCC, but I have a slight favour to ask of the Con goers. It involves the dolls I collect - Living Dead Dolls.

Leo, come back, I'm not asking anyone to pick up any dolls for me.*   Wink

This year, Mezco is not selling a single Con Exclusive doll, they've put out a set of 4 dolls. Very limited quantities. Last year, their con exclusive was deemed by many fans to be not exclusive enough (ie. too many made), so this year, the quantity has been reduced...which has also angered some fans.

I was just wondering if folks are near the Mezco/Living Dead Doll booth during the Con, if they could check on the dolls, just to see when they sell out, just to satisfy my own curiousity. Hee, I'm just wondering how many fans will end up in fights over this year's exclusives.  I don't want anyone going out of their way or anything...but if you hear any grumblings I'd love to hear what's being said.   Very Happy/Big Grin

* They put the exclusives up for sale, for a short period of time, on their Mezco website (they did the same last year). Despite vowing to never order from them again, because I'm going to seriously get zinged for customs/duty/brokerage fees when the dolls cross the border, I ordered a set anyway.  I did, however, miss out on the 9 minutes it took for the pre-sale of the variant dolls to sell out.

I got my four day pass paid for!

And the way the site is talking, they may very well be turning people away from the door on Saturday, like last year!

Anyway, YES, I'm definitely going.  Dang it, last year I thought about finding out about reserving a fan table so TMNT fans could meet up.  Anyway, Leonardo, is there a set time yet for UY table?  And like I said there, I hope you have someone helping you walk through that crowd (even on a Friday)!  You'll be mobbed!

Yay, Zkarlette is going too?  HOW can we find anyone there?

And I remember those dolls from last year.  If I can remember I will check it out and see the status of the dolls.  I'm trying to get to this one table the first day to buy a limited edition statue as it is-- hopefully THEY won't be sold out, either.

Raph--
You crack me up....
literally....
 Razz  Razz  Razz
So you just want to want to know how fast they sell out? Razz
And that means you already have a set of exclusives and therefore truly don't need anyone to get you them, or that is a different set of exclusives??
And if those boneheads didn't learn from a few years ago when I got you that first LDD for you.....
Then they deserve rioting LDD fans to shred their booth to the ground and carry the pieces and the people responsible around the Con hall a few times. (And it's a reallllly big hall.)

Cynlee--
Originally Ninjara would have been my floor guide. I am *hoping*it will be my new roomie, hoping it works out around her schedule.
I don't know what time the UY meet up is, Todd-sama hasn't sent it up yet.

They are coming out with two sets of exclusives, the regular ones (I think there are something like 500 sets, which they have already sold some of) and the variant set (something like 50 came up for presale). I actually don't know if the variants will be sold at the con. I have pre-ordered the 'regular' exclusives, and I'm not worried about the variants.

So, that is correct, I do not need anyone to buy me dolls. Thanks. I know you would have loved to spend preview night in line at that booth. Wink   LOL

An interesting panel, for more than one reason:

Friday
4:15-5:45 The Jim Henson Company: The Skrumps, Puppet Up! Uncensored, and More—Join co-CEOs Brian Henson (Farscape) and Lisa Henson (MirrorMask) along with Halle Stanford (Muppets Tonight), Craig Bartlett (Hey Arnold!), and John Chandler (creator, The Skrumps) to learn about the Henson Company’s newest gang of characters, The Skrumps, and see a live demonstration of the revolutionary technology that brings this animated troupe to life. Also featured will be a live performance of a sketch from the company’s stage show Puppet Up! Uncensored. Special guest performers Patrick Bristow (The Groundlings), Julianne Buescher (Puppet Up!), and Michelan Sisti (Dinosaurs). Ballroom 20

Just as I feared I had a series of unfortunate events shoved in my face for the last weeks...... due to that I haven't had the chance to plan my trip to the con at all...  I barely made it to Anime expo on a Sunday.. very last minute..

First I am hoping I can find a somebody to go with since my sister who is always my partner in crime at the con can't go this year due to some college preparations, then I have to decide which day to go since saturday is starting to sound kind of scary , hopefully I'll be able to come up with a plan soon that way we could set up a place to meet or something.

Like I have always been there on a saturday does anyone know which is the second 'best' day to attend?

Suggestion:
Go read the programing. It's posted on the official Comic Con site.
So if you go read it, you could make a decision about what you wanted to see and what day you'd like best.
As for avoiding Saturday? I'd suggest Friday over Sunday, unless there's a panel on Sunday you wanted more.

I'm going all four days.  Pick a day and we'll meet up early and I'll drive.  Also-- Saturday may be sold out, like last year!  You should try to buy your pass on-line as soon as possible!  Then it's easier.  But last year they were turning people away at the door on Saturday!

Thank you very much for the offer cynlee, I would love to join you on the trip Very Happy/Big Grin

are you going to be driving there each day? I wasnt completely sure if you were staying in san diego since you have the four day pass.

Last year I got there really early on saturday so I was of the first ones to get in , but this year once I set a day I think I'll just buy it online.

Yes-- Unfortunately, I have to drive it daily due to rl considerations-- and you had better hurry before Saturday is sold out (if that is your day!)!!!!!

Just let me know the when.  You can park here at my place, and I'll take us there and back again.  If that doesn't work, let me know.

Saturday is the most crowded.  Friday will be almost but not as bad.  But it depends on whom you want to see in which panels.  Both days are good ones.

EDIT-- I MUST attend THIS:

3:30-4:30 Futurama—Matt Groening is proud to announce the long-awaited return of the animated sci-fi comedy classic Futurama! Matt and executive producer David X. Cohen will be on the dais, accompanied by writer Ken Keeler, animation directors Peter Avanzino and Dwayne Carey-Hill, and for the first time together on stage in any universe, actors Billy West (Fry), Katey Sagal (Leela), John DiMaggio (Bender), and Maurice LaMarche (Kif Kroker)! The cast and crew will entertain your questions and present a sneak peek at Bender’s Big Score! in glorious wide-screen format! Moderated by Bill Morrison. Ballroom 20

And now apparently, 4 day passes are sold out.
Sounds like Saturday is going to be a sold out day before the Con actually starts....
If it wasn't for promising to see a panel my friend is on Saturday, I might have been willing to totally skip the Con that day and go to something else like the San D Zoo....

oh yes, there shall be pics with Stan....
Although it won't be me taking them for the big UY Dojo meet up on Friday. I'll be in my Leo costume--not sure I could use a camera wearing that....hmm.  LOL
But I'll let you know if others take pics they post. Maybe if they use my camera to take one of the group pics, too.... And I'll probably have at least one of Stan at his booth.

Also, if we get anything with Kevin E. If we get stuff of M. Sisti and others in the Henson panel. Although I have no idea if we will just get to see the panel and then no chance at all for meeting them. They don't have a signing listed before/after their panel, but their panel is late in the day, so have to see if there is another panel scheduled for that room after theirs--might be able to play the hang out game if there are no more panels and they hang out. I'll try for pics during the panel and some video clips if it is permitted. My new camera gets 12X zoom, and I can zoom during video clips, too. But I won't have a tripod for it, so I'll do my best.
Sometimes there's a no pics and/or no video policy at Comic Con, due to the level of stuff the media is presenting to us. Sometimes the whole panel (usually the mangaka from Japan), sometimes just parts of it (often the video presentations). Bummer yes, but we have to respect it or the media will quit coming and if you get caught, you're thrown out of the Con.
I'll post my pics and put a link in the proper thread after the Con. And then stuff that has nothing to do with TMNT but is fun to post about the Con.

Looking forward to seeing everyone that is going, and I hope I have lots of fun stories when I get back...at least I won't spend half my Con sewing and finishing up costumes this year!!!

You will get your opportunity soon!!

As for me, I leave tomorrow night, staying overnight in LA at a friend's.
I don't think I'll have any access until...uh...well, considering the business trip RIGHT after the Con....
It will be another week before I can really post any reports or pics probably. We'll see what I can during the week in the Chicago area.
