Never pay full price for a late pizza

yeah, Transit isn't great in a lot of places... like Michigan...

People waited for a bus that was 3 hours late.  Once the bus got there, people were already standing crowding the doors while some forced their way onto the bus into the heavy crowd others had to wait for another bus.  The news station was there to cover the bus arriving even.  People standing with kids, handycap problems and more.   Can you really rely on a bus system where this kind of problem is normal?

And in the Detroit metro area, there is NO... not one bus, that runs on Sunday.  They don't think people need to get around on that day of the week.

Do I believe in public trans being a good thing?  Yes, I use it in LA, NYC, Chicago, Toronto and many other places.  I learn the schedules and use it as my main way around town.  I prefer subways over buses but I do use buses as well.  Just that not all areas are made for public trans.

Gas prices are still too high even over $3.00 is too much!   I use to be able to fill my tank on my VW bug for $10... now it's $30 or more.  I don't have the money to fill my tank most of the time, so I've just started to stay home more often.  That extra $20 does make a big difference when you live pay check to pay check.

And what extra money I do get, I'd rather put into doing a trip.  So day to day life is home... then I blow my money on gas to do things like NYC Comic Con.... I still feel gas prices are too high but I'm not going to give up everything because of it.

Yeah, that's true. For me, public transportation is the way to go since I don't drive.

Public transportation may not be 100%, but for me to take the train down to the city of Chicago is cheaper than driving (if I still had my 1989 Pontiac Junker Edition).  It costs $9 to go from the far western suburbs to the city round trip.  I can bet you that it will cost way more than $9 to drive from Kane County to the city, which is about 45 miles one way plus the extra miles going around the city street maze.

Again, I just don't care if I ever drive again, even if gas and car prices come down.  Driving and riding is nothing more than aggravation and fear.  The only way I probably drive again is if I win one of those Nissans from this current McDonald's Monopoly game.  Even still if were to win that, I'd probably have to see the dang thing just to pay for the tax, but hey, it'll still be more money in my pocket than what I have now.

Yeah, I hear you, RE. We used to play that Monopoly game all the time when it came to McDonald's. Haven't done it so far this year though.

Mess with the best, get bapped like the rest!

This is the first year that I haven't been able to take part in McD's Monopoly game.  I don't eat a lot of what they sell (generally speaking, breakfast items only) and none of the pieces are on the breakfast items I eat.

Oh well, considering I go once a week, it's not like I really stood a chance of actually winning anything anyway...   Wink

Yeah, you only get a certain chance of winning anyway.

Well I only win medium fries (in fact, I just got home from cashing in on a prize I got yesterday); sundae, snapfish, Red Box movie night for Mr. Monopoly throwing a Chance card at a hat game piece token.  I never expect to win anything anyway, but it's like the lottery you have no chance of winning millions if you don't put in a dollar per set of 5 numbers.  Besides I have all the easy properies now; I just need that one hard one of each color set.  I'm banking my hopes on Boardwalk since I have Park Place.  I know they only have have 1 - 3 Boardwalks in the whole USA, but a guy can dream can't he?
