OK! Ok I said I'd do it! And I am! My finger is better now, and things are...pretty much back to normal...so, here we go. About a week later, but hey...better then nothing! XD
I RATE THIS REVIEW PG-13 FOR MENTION OF....THINGS...THAT COULD BE CONSIDERED....NAUGHTY XD
So, good ol' Anime Next, as always it was a total BLAST! We started off on Thursday, left waaaay early in the morning and it took about....3 1/2 hours to get there? About that, yeah. Met Ivey at the hotel, checked in and dropped all our junk off, then Ivey and I went to hang out in NYC, which is always a total blaaaaaast. I love that city to DEATH! OMG went to get Mystic from the airport, and we met them at the bus station...WHICH WE DID NOT GET LOST AT THIS TIME! lol XD Off to see Avenue Q, our seats weren't as bad as I thought they were gonna be...though I admit they coulda been better lol...and I absolutely ADORED seeing the show, it was GREAT! I'll definately see it again next time I hit NYC...if I can afford it that is lol.
Then, Friday! Well, apparently Ivey and Mystic hit the lines for pre-reg pick up waaaaaay early while I enjoyed my sleep lol. Hey, I like my sleep, ok?! XD Ivey came back after getting her badge and poked me and OMG awake warning us it was gonna take forever for us to get our badges...we got up and sleepily wandered over to get in line, which was waaaaaay back into the parking garage lol...I think we got in line around 10-something, and we had our badges by like 1ish XD Oh well, I suppose serves us right? lol Called Ivey to see where the heck she was at this point, but she and Mystic were like, right there when we walked in, waiting in the autograph line, so thankfully I didn't have to send a search party out for her. I believe this was the point where we were asked to hold some of Ivey's stuff for her while she did something, and Jade totally dropped her dvd set...and though the dvds were ok, the case broke a little...and Jade never heard the end of it. Ivey wasn't angry of course...but Jade got picked on the whole rest of the con....I fear she may never hear the end of it lol XD
Saturday! TMNT Panel! Oh man, I got to meet John Campbell for the first time ever, and at the first con he's ever been to too! What an awesome experience!! Oh! I believe this was actually the first panel in a long time that I've noticed Mike was NOT LATE to! *gasp* lol It was sooooo funny when Ivey asked him to do toddler Raph's voice, and Wayne was like I totally called that! XD The panel was so awesome and funny in general, I love panels with those guys together, you can tell they really love hanging out and working together.
Afterwards we all went out and hung out on the steps in front of the con for a little bit and chatted, and even got a groups shot or two. Then Mike had to run off for a panel I think, and everyone sorta wandered away while we sat there and hung out a little longer...suddenly, I spotted a girl cosplaying Molotov of Venture Bros! OMG WIIIIIN! She told me she was gonna be there too on the Venture Bros community on live journal, but I didn't think I would run into her! I saw Mike coming toward the convention center back from his hotel and I ran down to point her out to him, but by the time I got down there he had already spotted her...he, like me, was amazed with her costume! I took a few pics of them together, and once I get the program back on my computer, I'll totally share them here!
Mmm...my memory's a little shady as to what happened after this...I think there was a point where we went to get in an autograph line and it was cut off...and some people were very upset...and the staff had to handle that, but I think they did a very good job on it. I forget exactly when it was, but there was some point we did get in an autograph line with Mike in it I believe...and I officially got to tell him about his website! He was...pretty flattered lol. It was cuz I told him I wanted to do an interview with him after the con was over to put on his website, and he was like....buh? website? And I realized I hadn't told him about it yet....I had just assumed because his uh...friend I met at NY Comic Con told me she knew about it and thought it was sweet I did that for him, that he must have already knew about it too...guess I was wrong lol. XD
Anyway, later that night, Mysitc, Ivey and I went to....a VERY awesome panel involving one Mike Sinterniklaas and Tom Wayland...let's just say, they were checking ID at the door
But DUDE it was GREAT! And I got to sit next to Michele Knotz! And I personally found it rather sweet that Mike admitted he was slightly embarassed we came to that panel with him there XD No worries, Mike! Also, for making him a site, he gave me "his nuts"....do you know how much fun it is to tell people that?! Ok ok, so it was just a bag of honey roasted peanuts....still though
lol
As for Sunday, I'll have to hit you back for that one, cuz I need to go to bed...gotta get up early to go pick up my Otakon badge!
