So, nobody can do anything about the hot weather but in Mississippi, the humidity makes it completely miserable. I'll be glad when we can move to a better climate! Our town reached 107 degrees Fahrenheit on Wednesday, August 16th - a new record! What's worse is that our A/C is practically nonexistent in our vehicles.. Home isn't much better. *drowns in her own melted body*

And Saturday's temp is looking to be 103... WITHOUT the heat index. Today marked 30 years (?) since Elvis' death, and there have been heat-related injuries and deaths in the Memphis, TN area (I am an hour and a half from Memphis). I ought to stick a candle out there! LOL! Oh, no wait - we had candles in our van a couple of years ago which pretty much melted in the heat and congealed around some tools so it was like one big lump of wax and metal.

Gad. You poor thing! You are dealing with some really dangerous climate. No joke. It gets plenty hot here in Arizona, but we don't get the high humidity to go with it. It only will get like that once in a great while during our monsoon season. But never for days at a time. That high humidity makes you feel like your drowning on land. Hard to breathe. I visited in Ohio once when it was hot and humid and could barely function. (And I thought I could handle heat. Ha!) Might be worthwhile to consider AC for your home.....and a car with AC for the future. Seems to me this kind of heating up is happening more often on a regular basis here in North America. Getting kind of hard to find a cool spot.

I believe in global warming, I really do-- but I haven't experienced it yet. At least, not here.

104 here in SoCal. Dry. It's freaking DRY. A gal at Home Depot thought it was humid...I what like...it is?!!??!?!? I don't feel it!!
I'm hoping next Sat. gives up buckets of rain. 60% right now. But thats a week away.
It's really nice to go for a cruise and have the AC on full in the car...it's nice. I was reading 104 on the thing but it was like 75 in the car lol!!

104! That IS hot for SoCal! For the coast area anyway. I grew up there. Unless the weather has changed drastically, I can't recall much humidity in the month of September. It's usually super dry, and then you get the Santa Ana winds......and hope some idiot doesn't flip a match somewhere and get a wildfire going. The gal in Home Depot must have grew up in Death Valley, or the Bonneville salt flats.

Thought I'd revive the hot thread.
All right, those of you who live in places like the desert southwest, no larfin'.
But... it was 90 here today. Usually it's about 63. 75 is considered balmy. Inland it was around 100. Whew.

Today the high was 93. The sea breeze has kicked in somewhat, so it is now 86. And it's rather humid. Yeah, when it gets hot in No. CA, OR, WA, it's really oppressive. A few years back I remember it was so hot my dad went out and bought an air conditioner. I couldn't do much of anything, that's for sure. If I were acclimated, then okay, but us west coast people who are near the ocean, it's not really necessary to acclimate much. Temps are fairly consistent. Too warm in here, I'm going back outside to sit on the patio. A nice breeze has started up.
