EPISODE 110 \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Nightmares Recycled\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" Story Editor: Lloyd Goldfine Senior Supervising Director: Roy Burdine Written by Roland Gonzalez Synopsis: Raph, Don, Casey, and April?s evening salvage operation lands them a one-way ticket to Recycle World ? the Garbageman?s deadly realm of refuse! As if fighting for their lives in a world of lethal compactors and shredders wasn?t bad enough, they?ve got to do it all with Hun ? who?s not thrilled to reveal that he and Garbageman have something in common ? DNA! NOTE: This episode was never completed. The script was finished and some animation had begun when 4Kids pulled the plug because it was deemed too controversial for a children\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s program (apparently Hun and the Garbageman were going to be conjoined twins that were surgically separated at birth). The TMNT Ep That Will Never Be. BSW

Well-- to be HONEST-- it kind of freaked me out as well-- I mean, I'm sure they could have done it-- but with kids, the thing would be "they rejected the one son because of a 'deformity'" or something like that. I can see that, actually. It doesn't matter what Grimm Bros. tales used to be like-- kids are kids, and the theme of being "unwanted" I imagine would hit too close to home to some. THAT, of course, is assuming that THAT would have been the direction, had they gone with the conjoined twins theme. Remember-- in the long run (and I know I push for more "mature" themes, but still) this IS a cartoon aimed at Kids-- and no matter how much we want to believe how mature they are, they are STILL kids. HOWEVER-- if there were a way they could make the episode for the REST of us, I'd be first in line to buy it!

I would give my limbs for an adult "TMNT SHOW" but I know it will never happen.

I think they should have made the Garbageman be Hun's dad instead. That would have made more sense *laughs* Actually someone has requested me to write the story to this episode. It's on my list of things to do LOL

I would've loved to see this episode. It may've been weird, but it could've answered so many unanswered questions!

I think having the Garbageman as Hun's dad would make more sense than having them be conjoined twins. Still, I would've loved to see this ep.

Reviving an old topic, because I saw some storyboard art for a scene from this episode! There was some really good stuff in it too... now I'm sad this episode didn't get made.
The Turtles, Splinter, and the Ancient One are sitting in the lair, being sad because a great evil is rampaging through the city, and many of their friends are lost or killed. After talking a little, Splinter and the Ancient One go into Splinter's room to have a serious discussion. Leo decides it's time for him and his brothers to practice their mystic arts, because they wouldn't want the efforts of the (apparantly dead) Tribunal to go to waste. Raph: When Leo is right, he's right... and I hate it when Leo is right. Mike whines about having to practice, while the others jump down to another part of the lair and start warming up. Mike: Must not... give in... to... guilt trip! Below, Don's shell-cell rings. He answers, and it's April, inviting him to come look at some salvage stuff. He heads off to join her. Leo asks Raph to go after him, to make sure he doesn't get into any trouble. Raph does not appreciate the assignment. Raph: Why do I have to babysit Nerdle the Turtle? Raph then does a rather unflattering impression of Don. Don reappears and is not amused by Raph's take on him. They start to fight, but Mike finally comes down to the practice area and breaks them up. Mike says that he will go along to chaperone the two of them, but Leo declares that Mike has to stay behind and train.
I hope if anybody finds anything else from this episode, they'll share here...

No, I don't think I was supposed to take pictures... anyway the sketches were very rough, and probably wouldn't have come out well in a photo. I could try to describe it, though...

Oooh, sounds awesome. Thanks for that, Ami. I really wish they would've made that ep.

After reading Peter Laird's notes, I'm kinda glad this episode wasn't made. It sounds like the writer was loopy or something.

Posting here again, because I seem to have a knack for discovering things about this episode.
I met Denny Fincke (a 2k3 background artist) at
NYCC/NYAF today and he decided to tell me some trivia. He said that around episode 90, the writers were looking for some new ideas. Denny mentioned to them that 2k3 is a little short on Don/Raph interaction, and he suggested a story where Raph follows Don somewhere. This idea became the scene I saw in Otis Brayboy's storyboards. Unfortunately, the writers then merged it with a strange plot about Hun and the Garbageman, and the whole thing got canned. Denny was really disappointed that his idea never saw daylight.
I wonder what else there is to know about this episode...

I learned on this trip that Garbage man lines were never recorded for it.. Mike Pollock only heard rumors there was going to be an episode with him back in it..
