Arrivals and more!

Youmacon being a local conventions to me, I'm in with helping those who are coming that are staying with me.  So I got all the amusing stories of their times of getting into Michigan.  Starting with Halloween night, and Phoenix but before we go there... let's go back to the night before... and why I'm not the best to ask for directions right now....

Tuesday night we got tickets to go see the "Bee Movie" so my family and I went.  Though getting there kind of later than we wanted, so having to run into the theaters and find our seats I wasn't feeling well.  Than sitting through a movie with the cold theater, I was so blah.  Though after the movie, the credits are rolling and I over heard Miki say she got a call from someone I would of liked to have talked to and that she was going to find out what they wanted.  So I tried to make my way pass my mom to get over and hear what Miki had to say, I ended up going down on my mom's lap as I tried to get by, and she thought I was playing and started to play with me.  I wasn't feeling it and even yelled to stop it a few times before I ended up falling off of her, between the seats.  My bad arm hitting my mom, the chair and the arm rest on the way down.... any one who knows anything about my bad arm, knows this is not a good thing.

The rest of that night was just a nightmare of pain, sleep was not an easy thing, and when I woke up Halloween morning and felt like a truck hit me I realized things were not going well and I had to do something.  I tried some of my low pain meds and a hot bath, it did not even take the edge off of the pain.  So I had to up it to my highest pain killer, which if anyone knows about it... it knocks me out for just about two full days.  I took it and got to feel loopy all Halloween.

And the fun begins :

Phoenix is driving in, and has me on the phone.  She missed one of the freeways she was suppose to take, though is still on the right track towards my house.  So I tell her how to go, though being loopy and being myself, I went on to finish the directions in which would take her to my house, which confused her and got her to take the wrong direction on the next expressway.  At a point with no easy turn around... oh the joy of trying to get me to give directions while I'm loopy and trying to help with passing out candy for Halloween.  Which is a different thing, I sit in the house with a mic and hackle the people who come on the porch that see a head in a box talking at them.  They don't know where I see them from or how I hear them.  So anytime someone was coming I had to put the phone down on poor PG.  Though I will let her tell the horror story of relying on my directions to get to the house.  She's got an amusing way of telling it.

Crittle:

Crittle was amazing, we were getting there for what should be right on time.  To a part of the air port I don't really know, so I told PG to pull up near the building and I'll find Crittle.  We pull up to the second of many doors and I blink to my surprise Crittle is standing right there!  "THERE SHE IS!"  I yelled, as I jumped out and helped her get her stuff into the car!  Yay for the easies and fastest air port pick up I've ever seen!

Fae:

We're driving towards the air port, she calls me.   We're not there yet, though we get there.  I go in and greet her, than we have a LONG wait for her luggage to come out on the belt.  And of course getting her stuff in PG's car was fun too.  So Fae was the harder one to get from the air port.  Hehe we had our jokes on how Crittle was so great and fast, she should get an award for the best Air Port pick up.  Hehehe

Any how, up late.  Tired and the weekend is ONLY just beginning.

A Fast over view of today:

3pm Opening Ceremonies... we were on time, they weren't.  Which was ok really, we got to talk with all of the guest and say hi.  It was great getting to work around and talk with all of them.  And to my surprise I really did talk with all of the VAs that were coming in.  My favorite part about Opening though would be the jokes in the opening video asking each of the guest in their profiles where the conchair is... Wayne reply was : I ate him.   Which seems to be a favorite.

After that we went up to the autograph line area, I ran down to maid cafe and talked to some people.  Than went back up to the autographs.  We got our autographs, Mike was in a playful mood.  He wanted to sign my Joey toy I brought for Wayne to sign!   Wayne and I had to protect the Joey toy.  They were a lot of fun, and we were up there longer than I thought we would be.  Once we got done there we went to find out info about the concert.

Lemon Demon was playing first than Eyeshine (Johnny is the lead singer).   I only wanted to go to Johnny's show, to video tape it for him.   When we realized how late it was going to be and decided to go out for dinner.  We ate at Red Robins, food wasn't the top thing on my list so I brought half of my meal back to the hotel than got back to the con just in time for Eye Shine to play.   After the concert got Johnny to sign a handful of things.

More events to come on Saturday, with VA panels including a TMNT one Happy/Smile

Tired, but here is Saturday's review... sorry it's a day late had a hard time thinking about typing last night.

The day started off with Fae & I doing a run to a bagle shop and getting late to the convention.  Phoenix and Crittle were sleeping in.  I wanted to go to the Q&A with Q&J panel, though the panel was half way over by time we got there.  I thought we'd go to the autograph line, though heard it was already closed for the day.  So I thought I'd stop by the Bleach panel, though it was just a fan panel... not a fan of fan panels.... so Fae and I found ourselfs free for a bit at the convention.  How rear... esp at this con.

Fae and I took this time to find a place to sit as I share some stuff with her about the TMNT panel.  This is my first time ever hosting a panel, so I wanted to go in with a plan, and do things a bit different than just the... "Hey this is the guest, introduce and ask questions".   I wanted to give this more of a TMNT theme to the panel mixed with being a guest panel.  That was fun, I enjoyed getting some feedback on my plans before the panel.

After talking and going over things, we went and picked up PG and Crittle from the hotel and went for lunch at Coney Island.  After dinner to the convention.  We went to the Super Hero panel, to my surprise Wayne and Mike were part of this panel.  I went to see Hyper Strike.  I sat through this panel for the most part, though I knew I had to leave early cause my panel started right after this one ended in a different room.   I got out of the room as one of the staffers greeted me and asked if I knew my panel was going to start an hour late!!  An HOUR LATE?!  This was NOT going to happen to me, not now not on my first panel, and not with a Guest panel!

I went straight to con ops and asked them what's going on.  And everyone got into action, this was great of them and I can't thank them enough as they were able to get things together and get me into the room during the time the TMNT panel was suppose to start.  No one knows how happy I am that I left the other panel 20 minutes early!  Fae was with me as we got everything outside the door for the panel, we had to wait for the panel that was in there to leave before we could go in.  I went right in and started to set up, the staffers help by getting all of the chairs out for us as well.  I brought my movie heads finding it entertaining that the voices of Mike and Leo were going to be there and those are the heads I own, Mike and Leo!  *G*   We got everything set up, as people came in we passed out a paper :

Quote from: "Paper handed out to everyone"
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles History
Created on November 19th, 1983 by Kevin B. Eastman and Peter A. Laird, Ninja Turtles were only a joke.  Though as the two inspiring artist looked at their creation the next day, they decided to make a comic based around their idea of Turtles that can fight.  On May 5th, 1984 the black and white comic hit the stands and sold out within 3 weeks.   In 1986 Kevin Siemdieda from Palladium Books introduced Mark Freedman to Eastman and Laird.  Freedman took on the license of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' and brought us the toys, cartoons, movies, tours and so much more, making TMNT a big part of Entertainment History, world wide in the 1990's!
In 2003, 4Kids got the license and is now working to do the same for the Turtles that Mark did all those years ago, creating a new show, toy line, and even major motion picture movie!  The new show takes on an edgier tone than the original cartoon series, the show still provides light and humorous moments.  The first five seasons of the series were based more from the original Eastman and Laird comic of the 1980's and 90's.

TMNT Updates!
With 25 years of TMNT coming up in 2009, Mirage Studios has decided to do a lot of special events to mark this great time for the fans!  Here are some upcoming events for the fans to look forward to over the next two years.
* 2008 - 4Kids series
"The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back in New York, ready to race across the rooftops and take on all challengers!

"Not only are Casey and April back and ready to bust some bad guy butt, but a brand new, super advanced Turtle Lair is under construction (thanks to some hi-tech know-how Donatello garnered from the future), and, of course, there are all sorts of new heavy duty Turtle vehicles gearing up to roar down the streets of NYC and give the Foot a taste of some serious Turtle firepower!

"The stakes have never been higher, their enemies have never been stronger... and if the Turtles are going to be triumphant they’ll need to work together in ways they never have before."
* 4Kids Home Video currently plans to release the "Ninja Tribunal" (season 5) cartoon episodes on DVD in North America sometime in the "first half of 2008"!
* Ubisoft will begin production on the next TMNT video game soon! At the moment, the plan is for an all-new adventure that's not based on any other project, but the same models will be used that were featured in their movie game. More details to follow as things shift into high gear.
* Plans for the Turtles' 25th Anniversary celebration (taking place in 2009) are underway. A logo for the event is in development as are other special projects. At the moment it looks pretty certain that there will be a special edition reprint of the original Eastman and Laird volume one #1 comic book. More info on the other projects as things become clearer.
* This holiday season, Hot Topic will unveil boutiques dedicated to the TMNT retro merchandise and apparel. Hot Topic will have some exclusive items that feature artwork of Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady and will be an ideal place to find the retro merch!
* BioWorld has just signed on as the TMNT licensor for men's and women's head gear, bags, wallets, wristbands, belts and buckles. Look for their debut items this holiday season with new products being released on into the new year!
* Good Stuff signed on as the licensee to produce TMNT soft toys for amusement vending and redemption centers. Look for their Turtle items at amusement parks, game arcades and participating retail chains all across the US!
* Kurt Adler will be producing Christmas ornaments that will be available at Wal-Mart this holiday season!
* Kohl's will be hyping the Season One Part 1 DVD set of the current toon this holiday season with front-of-store displays, an ad campaign and more!

We got the panel started, I told everyone fastly what the papers were and they also got TMNT fruit snacks which I got from K-Mart on Thursday.  Than came introductions, and the question everyone who goes to conventions knows will be asked 'How did you get into voice acting and the job as a Turtle'  With those quesitons heh which I asked to be brief (Mike doesn't know how to give short answers, which is cool we were getting a great laugh out of it and he kept going off onto other topics and Wayne would poke him.. hehehe).   Than we opened the floor to questions.  Around this time I was shocked, the room was 'Standing room only!'  Though a lot of people, not a lot of questions though I came ready for this with a handful of questions written up that I know goes over well at conventions.

The panel went over very well, with a lot of laughs and information that people did not know.  The good news is that Mike, Sam, Wayne, and John all will be back as the voices for the next season of TMNT.  That is the best news I get to deliever from this weekend Happy/Smile  Fae sang her song from Anime Next 2005 and Anime Vegas 2005 for Wayne.  After the panel we did a HUGE group picture with everyone from the panel up front with the guest.  Once I get a copy of this picture I will share with everyone here in the review topic.  Happy/Smile

After the panel was an autograph session so we went up stairs, for the autograph session.  We got our items signed, and had some photos taken.  Than went on our way, we picked up a pizza from my local pizza place than went to my house.  Art Toons came over to see my collection so we hung out here for  little bit, after they left we headed back to the hotel.

Than came a fun game of how much FaeFae notices.  As I saw a TMNT bag of her's sitting on the bed and hide it in the room... goofing off I told Fae something of her's was missing and her job was to figure out what it was.   She couldn't figure it out.  Crittle and Phoenix were let in on the game, and than we got her to agree to do something to get the item back.   Discussing it with Crittle and Phoenix, we decided to have Fae sing the song again.   In front of a BIGGER crowd.  Originally going to be out in the lobby where a band that takes request plays.   Fae agreed and got her bag back *G*

So far I've had a lot of fun! Got here to Detroit, Michigan and had to wait for my suitcase which I think got shoved to the back of the plane because we had a stop in Denver but I find that I re boarded the same plane. So more then likely it got shoved to the back. Eh... finally it got out so we could get out of the airport.

We went over to Ivey's house for a little bit then went to the hotel and dropped our stuff off. Nice hotel. Had a living room area and a room with two full beds. Yeah, not too big but it worked. The con was A LOT of fun. It was great to see Michael S. and Wayne G. again. Us girls got to be known as Wayne's posse. *Grins*

On Saturday we helped set up for the tmnt panel. For a moment there was a scare that the room was going to be busy even though they knew there was suppose to be a panel starting in there. Finally they got the people out of there and we went in and got everything set up in a few minutes. Wayne and Michael were both there of course, by the props for the Leo and Mikey head from the third movie. That was fun. I think the panel went very well and it was a lot of fun. I sang my ode to Wayne again. Once we get that panel posted up on youtube I'll put up a link of it here.

Wayne and Michael had two autograph sessions. I had a pic taken with them the second time. They were playing around that time *G*

See what I mean? *Grins*

Quinton and Jeff were also there (Will insert last names later). Here's a pic I got done with the two

They're fun.

There was one last panel on Sunday before closing ceremonies with all the VA's, except Johnny because he had to catch a flight. The previous night the girls had a test for me, not one that I agreed to *Gives the girls a look* and I failed miserably. So, I had to sing to Wayne again in front of a big audience, which happened to be at the one last panel. Wayne loved it though and I got a great big applause. That was cool *Smiles*

My short little review. It was a fun con. Favorite part... Sunday's QA with QJ. Quinton Flynn and Jeff Nimoy are two great voice actors, not to mention very awesome comedians. its not often two people can do so well with improvised signing. The turtle panel went very well. *applauds to Ivey*

Now, the truly best thing with this entire trip was actually meeting up with Fae and Crittle. These are two awesome people I hope to meet again.  I do have pictures, but I just haven't really loaded them up yet. Perhaps I will soon.

I R ALIVES AND TEH HOME!

Many stories to tell. Those are for tomorrow though. I am teh tireds right now lolz. I will leave you with some things that you should know for future conventions though, that I learned and/or wanted to share from Youmacon. Some may be joking...some may be not. You take each one how you will. XD

~No matter what Michael Sinterniklaas says...I DO NOT HAVE A TATTOO ON MY BUTT!!
~DO NOT GIVE MICHAEL YOUR DVDS. If you DO hand him one to sign, watch him at all times until the dvd is returned to your hands...otherwise he will take it.
~If you ask Michael a question, make sure you have a good amount of time for an answer...if you know what I mean XD
~If you have a big expensive camera that you prefer no one else handling but yourself, keep it away from Michael. Seriously, don't even let him catch a glimpse of it. If he sees it, he's going to run up to you and get all giddy over it and start a long conversation with you over it and most likely is going to ask if he can play with it, though he may phrase that differently. It's pretty amusing. Not that there's anything wrong with all this of course, just letting you know ahead of time so you'll be prepared.

Further explinations on these statements will be made later, as well as a REAL review of my Youmacon travels! That's about all for the moment, cuz I'm tired as all hell AND have to work tomorrow. Check ya later! Love

Welp, here's my story of Youmacon 07. It was a BLAST. I reeeeeally didn't want it to end, and for some reason I never thought it would....until that day I realized that I'd be getting on a plane back home in a few hours...but, that's at the end! Let's start at the begining!

Thursday I was picked up by PG and Ivey...and it was apparently the easiest pick up they'd ever done! Though I still don't realize what the big deal was, all I did was get off my plane, get my bags, and wait for them outside...and I was only waiting there for like, 5 minutes heh. *shrugs* W'ever!

We picked up Fae later on that day and she took a little longer then I on the pick up heh...I think it took her abit to find her bags. Oh well! Oh, and dude! I FINALLY got to see the TMNT collection IN PERSON!! IT WAS AMAZING! Very Happy/Big Grin We went to the con for abit so Fae and I could get our badges and PG and Ivey were doing their con stuff...at one point, Fae and I sat down next to these double doors and were observing everything. We were watching this guy about to open the doors and walk into the room when suddenly the doors burst open...and the guy is like thrown back onto his back!! We were both like OMG!!!!!! XD The guy was ok though, but still...it scared the heck outta us! lol

Next day! We got in early to get good seats for opening ceremonies...we were the row right behind the guests! Very Happy/Big Grin Waved hi to Mike and Wayne when they came in of course Love Before the ceremonies started, I ran up to say hi to Mike, but he was talking Quinton Flynn so I stood there for a moment and waited my turn, looking around, observing everyone else. Suddenly I hear Mike go "Oh yeah this is Crittle, the girl with the tattoos I was telling you about! Show them to him!"  So...I showed Quinton the one on my leg...and start taking off my shirt to show him the one on my back...to which Mike kinda freaks out and goes "Uh, you don't have to right now!" But I told him I had a tank top on lol...you shoulda seen the look on his face though, it was great...and after that, he goes "Now show him the one on your butt!" to which you shoulda seen the look both on Quinton AND my faces! XD Anyway, after that I gave Mike a drawing I made of a chibi version of me and I had wrote www.sinterniklaas.com "Made for the fans, by the fans" all over it and wrote him a note about his site on the back....told him about the contest I wanted to do for it and everything and he thought it was so super cool and said he'd think about it and let me know by the end of the con.

Later we went to Mike and Wayne's autograph line...I had quite a time there! We we the first ones there and I made it known repeatedly, most likely making a fool of myself rambling on and on about how much I love Venture Bros and look at my tattoos and blah blah about Mike...I was a little too excited for my own good lol, but I think I amused people heh. When they finally got there Ivey was getting her stuff signed....and Mike was mad he couldn't sign the Yugioh action figure....Joey, that's Wayne's character lol....he was fighting Ivey for it! XD It was great. Then I handed Mike my Kappa Mikey dvd for him to sign, but made the mistake of continuing to watch Wayne and Ivey while Mike was doing it. When he was done I handed him my Venture Bros calendar and asked if he'd sign abunch of the pages...then realized he hadn't given me my Kappa Mikey dvd back! I asked him if he had it and he just shrugged...I asked if he gave it back to me and I put it somewhere, again he shrugged...I looked at Wayne and he said HE never got it! I looked at Ivey and PG and they said they never got it...I turned to Fae....SHE HAD A HUGE GRIN ON HER FACE!! I told her to give it to me but she claimed she didn't have it. Mike just kept going on about his signing the calendar business like nothing was wrong....and I started getting obviously worried...so finally Mike pulls it out of his jacket pocket and gives it to me, saying Fae told him to do it. HENCE WHY I SAY DON'T GIVE HIM YOUR DVDS! XD Anyway, he finished signing my calendar and then I was off...it's amazing though, he went through almost every month and wrote something! This calendar is one of the most special things I own now! Very Happy/Big Grin

Later that night we went to the Lemon Demon and Eyeshine concert...though we only were there for Eyeshine...and I had LOTS of fun at that! Ivey was recording the concert for Johnny and her arm start hurting her so she asked one of us if we'd take over the camera...and we started fighting over who would take the camera jokingly, pointing at each other and so on. Then suddenly, who would randomly come up behind us and start pointing at all of us too, but dear ol Mike Sinterniklaas lol XD He stood there for awhile with us taking pics and so on...and let me tell you, his camera and pic taking skills are both AWESOME. He got some REALLY good shots! He showed them to us afterwards, explaining all sorts of things about his big hi-tech camera that I just didn't understand but smiled and nodded since he seemed really excited and into it XD Before that though, he had been talking to a fellow Venture Bros fan when I walked up to him...and of course once again with the "This is the girl with the Dean tattoos! Show him the one on your butt!" I slammed my hand down on the table and was like STOP IT! I DON'T HAVE A TATTOO ON MY BUTT! XD But uh, a running joke of the con between our little group was tattoo related...let's just say "Go Team Venture!" and leave it at that lol.

Sadly I have to work in 7 hours so....Saturday and Sunday reviews will have to wait until after work tomorrow. The end for now! Love

I love those pics! XD Here's another day of my review!

Lets see, Saturday started off with...sleeping in, thank the lord...and then some foodz. Huzzah! XD Then it was time for the Super Hero panel! And though I've never actually watched Who wants to be a super hero, it was cool meeting Hyperstrike and getting to talk to him for awhile before the panel actually started, he was a really awesome dude! While sitting there listening to him and Ivey talk I randomly noticed Mike was standing behind me eating fried chicken and these potatoe...things....I forget what the heck they were called...but they were like tiny fat french fries lol and I just kept staring at them on his plate and finally he goes hey whats up? and I was like oh hey! your food smells good....what are those things? and he told me what they were and asked if I wanted any XD I was like nah I just ate, besides that's prolly the first meal you've had today and he said yeah it was lol. It was nice of him to offer me some though! Wayne and Mike were a part of the Super Hero panel along with Hyperstrike which was cool cuz even though I didn't get the courage to tell him so...Mike really is a hero to me. And he and Wayne and Hyperstrike did a wonderful job describing what they believe being seen as a hero means to them. I was super impressed.

Ivey had to leave this panel early to set up for her TMNT panel, so I had to finish recording and then go find them...while waiting for them to come back and get me, I found a MONARCH!! AND A 21!!!! I went so giddy over them!! I asked them if Mike had seen them yet and they said no, they couldn't find him! So, I lead them to him since I knew he was going to be at the TMNT panel next and I knew he'd be nearby the room cuz I told him that Ivey had said if he was late she'd kill him XD Mike loooooved seeing the VB cosplayers of course, he always flips out over them. After helping set up it was time for the TMNT panel to start, and I got to hand out TMNT fruit snacks at the door to everyone who came in...I also gave some to Mike and Wayne who were very greatful for them...apparently still hungry heh. I still think it was super neat that Ivey had Leo and Mikey's heads and Mike and Wayne were the guests at this panel XD The panel ran along fairly smoothly, Ivey was prepare for silent spots with questions of her own which was a perfect idea and Fae entertained us all with her "We love Wayne Grayson" song...which I think Mike was a little jealous of lol "Thanks for saying blue!" Afterwards we all stood together for a group pic, with Mike and Wayne standing on the chairs holding the turtle heads...well, Ivey and I were supposed to be holding the heads and I think Ivey was but, I handed Leo's head to Mike and asked him to hold it while I climbed onto the chair and he did, and afterwards I was like ok I got it now and...he wouldn't let go of it lol. So...we both held it...and man those heads are heavy! And one of the wires started stabbing me between the fingers but I was afraid to let it go cuz I didn't wanna drop it! And THEN Mike just had to start showing off his burping skills again like he had been earlier on in the panel....man, I was so glad that head was between us and if I hadn't have been holding it I woulda bapped him lol As we were putting everthing away after everyone left, I asked Mike if he wanted some pics of him with Leo's head on his camera and he said sure! So he explained to Fae how to use it and she took a few pics of him...pretty much making out with Leo's head lol I wish that I coulda had those pics...maybe I can get him to send them to me one day, cuz I'd love to have them!

Afterwards we all went upstairs to another Mike and Wayne sig thing, this time letting everyone go before us since we had already had stuff signed by them. When we finally got up there, I just had a pic taken with them...the one where they're trying to strangle me...yeah, they're crazy heh. Before we left, Fae and I did a little skit for Mike from the commentary in VB we had watched the night before, and his response was exactly as I thought it would be, somewhere along the lines of "Wow, I said that?" XD It was great. Then we all went out for food and then back to Iveys and Art Toons came over and looked around at her collection. Later we all went back to the hotel and were all doing our own thing, I was inking in a drawing for Mike of Dean when I saw Ivey with a TMNT bag of Fae's...which she hid...and Fae was supposed to figure out what Ivey hid and where and she never did so her punishment for failing the test was she had to sing infront of abunch of people lol.

The end for now. Sunday will come later cuz I'm tired as crap, work is killing me.
