There's going to be tough competition there.... Depends on if the voting group decides to chose by 'popularity' or box office sales. Or the look and feel of things--as in do they chose things we've pretty much seen for animation over the years, or go for things that push into some newer areas of animation? That's when things like Surf's Up or TMNT would have a chance against things like Shrek and--let's face it, it was good and good animating and did well at the box office, so Ratatouille is what I would call a top runner.

Well, the Oscar announcements are this Tuesday. It would be sweet, but I bet the three movies that get nominated are "A Bee Movie" (gag), "Ratatouille", and "Shrek the Third".
Still....

Well, the announcement is out and here are the nominees: Persepolis
Ratatouille
Surf's UpNever heard of the first one... You had one right, Cyn. At least your (gag) choice wasn't among them. Looks like most everyone's "I hope this does not" choices, did not.

I take comfort in the Bee one being dissed. But I don't understand their choosing that first one-- and as much as I like "Surf's up", I still think that TMNT is better animated.
They didn't get any nods for tech stuff either. Transformers got two nominations for sound and I think for visual effects.
WB has dropped the ball once again. After saying they would submit it and push for it, it sounds as if they did little to draw attention to it.
Ah well.

I wouldn't blame the company itself, but just the CEO for doing such a crap job with the changes to its network programming.
