I swiped this from Steven Murphy's blog: TMNT movie sequel sorta news.2
While I can't give it a full thumbs-up (there remains one new and substantial issue to be resolved), I'm happy to report that Imagi has successfully renegotiated its distribution deal with Warner Brothers for the potential TMNT movie sequel, so at least that particular hurdle has been passed. The next meeting between Mirage and Imagi is scheduled for mid-December, at which point the new issue will be discussed and hopefully resolved to everyone's satisfaction. To be continued. Again. Thought I'd share the love. Oh, and my apologies if this is already posted somewhere else.

Amazing how complicated all that stuff is to make a movie..... But it's nice to see things are still moving along for a possible sequel!

I didnt like the first one that much so I'm not bothered. If they called it TMNT 2, boy that would screw things up. I say no sequel.

Swiped from Murphy's blog today: Well, tomorrow's the big day. The three top executives of Imagi Animation are visiting Mirage for a meeting with Peter Laird and CEO Gary in order to decide once and for all whether or not we will be going forward with a movie sequel. So, tomorrow looks like the Day. I hope it works out! You should check out Murphy's blog entry-- the-5th-turtle.blogspot.com

I'm thinking the chances are good for a sequel. But my fingers are still crossed.

more info from the same blog You are not going to believe this but no decision was made at yesterday's meeting between Mirage and Imagi. Things are still 50-50 with regards to whether or not there will be a movie sequel. Not only that but the new "window" in which to make a decision has been extended four months.
While I can't go into details, I can say that Imagi showed up with one potential premise and that it was shot down by Pete (yeah, only one, hard to believe), and that the premise supplied by yours truly "did not lift my skirt" (in Pete's words). So... both sides have to come up with new, skirt-lifting premises, as well as work out a few other minor conceptual/design snags before a green light is given. Hearts seem to be in place but minds have yet to follow....
So, yeah, once again: stay tuned.

It's frustrating, especially as there are those who see this as "get over it, folks, it ain't happening just like I predicted".
I wonder which group I need to put a whammy on.... maybe both? >.>

What was the premise they gave? I'm itching to know what it was if Peter didn't like it. And yeeaaah Only having one? Not really a good idea.

Well everyone's fandom can go any way... so if someone is into Nightwatcher they can hope, though it is doubtful since he did hang up his mask at the end of the movie.

It's arguable that he did dump the bike on Casey. It's in cut-scenes.

Well, yes.....cut scenes. But cut scenes are cut scenes. Not part of what actually got put out there and exists. Since there is nothing in the official movie novel, comic book, or on film, it can't exactly be considered TMNT canon. Isn't that the way it goes? I dunno. Raph and motorcycles are always a possibility methinks.

Debatable. Like so many things in life, Moo. We'll just have to sit back and see what happens. And Kaz......more Don? It could happen.

I'd love for a sequel to be made. That would be cool. And I agree about more Mikey and Don. Even though I'm a Leo fan, I have to say that I felt Don and Mikey did get shunted to the side in this one. More of them would be a good thing.

I'm sure most of us know now, but Imagi's deadline to come up with a definitive sequel expired at the end of April '08. Mirage Studios has been approaching other companies to work on the sequel.
Additionally, Murphy, from his 5th turtle blog, reported that he might have substantial movie news to report by the end of the summer. Fingers crossed!
