*starts to post in Wayne's thread; thinks better of it*
What's the use?
Do you all think I DON'T care that they're all back?
I would not watch it if the originals weren't back--
and unfortunately I do NOT share a connection with the VAs like the rest of you-- and I think it's cool that you all do have these connections...
But freaking DAMN it!-- I fell BACK into this fandom due to some things I'd seen in 2K3 way back in the first two seasons-- and ..
*sighs*
I want Splinter to be with the turtles! I do NOT want him dead (as in the fucking comics) OR separated by a century (as Wayne Grayson has unofficially stated in another thread).
And damn it-- I do NOT have your connections, and sometimes I honestly feel that if I post something of my own feelings, some of you immediately post to make sure that no one "important" is Hurt!!! I HONESTLY feel this when I read your own responses to certain things-- Paranoid?? Maybe. Why not? Just another negative checkmark against me.
I am a pathetic, UNIMPORTANT FAN WHO DOESN'T HAVE THE MEANS OR METHODS TO FOLLOW/BECOME FRIENDS WITH THE VAS THAT IMPRESS ME!
I want them all to be back-- the VAs are important to me.
But damn it, I want some outrage about Splinter being left in the future.....
*HUGE sigh*
Never mind. Rant/Flame over.

I agree with you on Splinter. Swapping him and Serling just ruins the whole dynamic - unless Cody comes to the past too (*shudder*), losing Serling means he's lost the protection of Turtle-X. And the Turtles have lost their father, in favour someone who barely tolerates them.
*sai* I suppose having Serling in the past makes for more low level 'comedic' moments...
Feel free to be outraged. Personally, I'm with you and I don't think it's a slight against any of the VAs to say that you want Splinter and not Serling.

I have to totally agree, Splinter should not be stuck in the future. I don't know why they're so focused on messing things up like this. If they got the hint that the fans were not happy with Fast Forward, why would they keep Fast Forward this connected to the series?! Splinter is a very important part of the Turtles lives, they need more of him than just a way to talk to him while he's in the future. I don't believe people are ignoring how you feel by not taking response to it, just that the voice actors don't control where the series is going to go. I was thinking about starting an area here in the flame pit to vent, though Raph beat me by moving this topic here. Though we might want to change the topic to something about the subject I won't deny that this is annoying me to no end. I am NOT a fan of Serling or Cody. I want to see them out of the series. This does not make an ounce of sense.

Thanks-- I was afraid that I may have come across as being mean to the VAs who are coming back.
And I hope none of you took offence at me last night. I just---
It amazed me how angry I got. And I needed to say it-- or rant it rather.

Yeah, I believe most of us though know how ya feel on the subject. Splinter does NOT belong in the future. It's annoying people think they need to change things to keep them interesting! They had a great show going there, till they decided to change it. Now it makes us worry with every up coming season. I'm hoping they change their mind before the end of the series, or it's only a few episodes where Splinter is still in the future and they get that fixed soon.

Okay, have 4Kids and Mirage been hit on the head with Casey's baseball bat, resulting in serious brain damage? Because this direction makes zero sense. What in the name of all that's holy are they thinking?
I want Splinter back as much as the rest of you, and all traces of Serling, Cody, and the freaking damn pastel future wiped out. They had better change their minds quick because the outrage will be colossal if it becomes set in stone.

Am I the only one who doesn't mind? Personally, I'd love too see how the boys would operate without him in an action series (not the non action one Vol 4 has become). My guess, is that Darius Dun (who's plotline has not been resolved) somehow gets the turtles too the past... probably by creating his own time portal and threatening the existance of April and Casey. With the turtles gone, Serling somehow accidentally gets sent there, and Splinter stays behind too protect Cody. Makes perfect sense as the turtles are now old and skilled enough too handle things on their own. And with the way they handled Splinter in FF, I'm almost glad he's staying if it means more soap opera jokes..
I'm obviously going too take a wait and see approach, but so long as the animation doesn't suck it sounds too be like an interesting series. If they kept things status quo, it would get old fast..

Although I don't watch TMNT too often (don't get me wrong it's awesome I just never get up early enough to watch it lol) I do have to say I kinda know how you feel. Splinter is a very important character to the show...and I know what it's like to not have an important character in the show that should be there...just like I know what it's like to not know if you're gonna get your favorite show back for another season or not. Venture Bros. For those who don't know, something...well, something horrible happens to my 2 fav characters at the end of season one, and it scared me to death....I even actually cried! AND! For the longest time ever we fans of Venture Bros held our breath not knowing if there was going to be a season 2 or not! So yes, I've been there, I know what it's like.
Ivey's right though, the voice actors don't really have any control over what happens in the show, they have to just go along with what's written. I'm sure they like to hear what the fans have to say though, and can make suggestions to the writters that hey, my fellow fans would prefer if this happened instead of this and so on. So it's fine to tell them what you like and don't like but don't get angry with them or anything cuz it's not really their fault.

But that's the thing! I'm not Angry with the VAS!!!!
I'm not trying to KILL the messenger.
And I won't go further. I just can't explain my feelings any better than I did-- and I'm not making myself clear.
So I will leave it.

Honestly I shoulda worded that better, my bad. I know you aren't angry with the VAs. I just meant that like...you should be careful what you say around them I guess? Cuz they may take it as you're upset with them...even though there really isn't anything they can do about it, and they could take it wrong.
Sorry, I knew you weren't mad at them. I just worded things wrong. My bad.

I think I know Cyn's point...and now I see why she was having trouble expressing it. Heh, I've tried a few times now to say it. Now, I could be wrong, but I think her point is that she feels she can't vent about the show...not because the VAs will interpret it as being upset with them, but because the fans/friends of the VAs will interpret it that way, and get bent out of shape. Those of us who aren't friends with the VAs shouldn't have to feel we can't vent about the show (not the VAs, the show) because those who are friends of the VAs might think the VAs who are on the board will get upset. Yeah, makes sense to me, but I still don't think the explanation is quite right.

*whistles* I guess that makes me an aweful fan, 'cause I'm not going to watch a show I don't enjoy just because the characters happen to resemble characters I happen to love in nothing more than appearance, stature and archtype. When the heart's taken away, they're nothing but pretty pictures and excellent voices.
The VAs do a wonderful job, but when the writing slaughters the characters and stories, it's not worth paying attention to anymore far as I'm concerned.

Ah well, I planted my thoughts to you Cyn, over at Mikey's before they left my shorter than short term memory.
But yeah, I'm just not bothered by it. It's just a cartoon made for the kiddies anyhow. Kiddie cartoons have lost the quality I came to love from the cartoons of my youth. And they just seem to continue to degrade. Anyway, I didn't watch FF because I didn't enjoy it and I'll tune into the first episode of 2K8(?) when it airs but like Mo there, I can't and won't stick with it on principle, just because it's TMNT. They've got to earn it.

I'd barely posted my feelings, and all of a sudden people who know the VAs are posting all this happy happy/joy joy stuff, as if I'd been deliberately rude and... Well that is how I felt-- and still feel. And I won't go further.

I totally understand that the topic was never about being angry with the VAs. In fact I totally agree with you about this Splinter news being bad news. I'm not happy about these changes I'm hearing and have been to complaining to everyone I know over here. It's disappointing....
My only problem at first was solved already, which was the topic was taking over in the 'Wayne Grayson' topic which is meant for questions to Wayne. Though I wasn't sure what to say cause I didn't want to feel bad moving the topic, knowing esp since I was agreeing with ya all the way on it, that this was a heated topic. It wasn't about offending Wayne, cause we know that Wayne does read the other topics here on TMNT-L besides the one with his name on it, it was more just hoping to keep that topic on topic. I was writing up a flame pit post, was going to be a poll and such, but saw this moved here and figured to just go with the flow.
People deff should be able to let out their feelings without worrying about offending people on the board, be them VAs, Artist or normal members. As long as it's not a personal attack on anyone. Your messages has not been a personal attack, just a vent because like most of us, you don't like what is being said could happen with the series. We're all human after all! And this is a big issue that people are going to want to release how they feel! So please don't feel like you have to hold back.
