I'm working with a dealer at the convention this time, so my story is different than normal.  I got to the convention around 10am, it did not open to the public till 2pm.  So Spent the first half of the day helping set up the table at AniGame.  We're in the first hall of dealers at booth 122.  The booth is selling T-Shirts and DVDs.   I spent any free time I got checking some of the near by booths including Go Comi which is where David Wise was suppose to be.  I met his staff before getting to meet him.  I also found the Kappa Mikey booth and a few other good ones.

David showed up right before the convention opened to the public.  So I got to say hi to him, and talk a few minutes even got him to sign my shirt.  Happy/Smile  Yay a much needed autograph to the shirt!  After talking to him I went back to the booth and worked more.  I've been best at selling T-shirts.  I walked around later and met Dark Angel at the con, she was dressed up in her Kappa Lizzy Costume, it was good meeting another fan at the con.  We didn't talk much, I just introduced myself and went on with going back to work.

Most of the day was just work, though I did go to one and a half panels in the evening.  The best one was the Kappa Mikey panel, they did a great job and showed us new Kappa Mikey stuff.  Yeah!  SEASON 1 BOX SET OUT THIS FEBRUARY!  After that wrapped up things at the con than came back to the hotel for McDonalds and am now crashing.

Night!

So what was David Wise like?  Hopefully he will have time for an interview sunday after the panel.  I've got what I hope are 5 good questions for him to keep it short Happy/Smile.

I REALLY wish I could have been there today.  I wanted too show Mike some videos I shot with my camcorder on my laptop, and Mr.Wise my TMNT 3D artwork Happy/Smile.
Is Sean going to be there all weekend, or was he only there for the Venture Brothers panel?  I'm hoping he's there on Sunday Happy/Smile.  I wanted to surprise a Radio friend of mine
and get the guts to ask if they could record a Goku and Kuririn spot for the radio station I help out with videos from time to time Happy/Smile.

We should be there by around 11:30PM tommorow, barring traffic

Later,
Neil

Ivey, PLEASE tell me your audio came out at least intelligable.... Just as I feared, whenever the mic cut out, so did the audio.  So if your's isn't good enough to cut in to the audio, at least I can get a written transcript of it Happy/Smile..

Oh, and can you hand out my email address to Mike S.?  I don't think we'll be coming in tommorow, but I wanted to forward off to him the URL of where his panel will be...

Hiya all,

Sorry I didn't post last night just feeling all out blahed... pain from my stupid arm so typing wasn't going over to well with me.  Though I got some sleep in me so I can finally say hi and give a short review for Saturday.

I woke up earlier than most everyone, mainly cause my arm only lets me sleep when I'm just exhausted while it's hurting like this, after I get some rest and wake up going back to bed is out of the question so I laid there for awhile before getting up and just playing around online.  I didn't know what time the others wanted to be awake, or I could of woke them up.  Though around 9am Casey got up and we realized that the con opened in an hour and got some of the others in the room up.

Though this brought the problem of waiting for the bus... the bus that they got for the dealers and stuff is suppose to be here every half hour... though they only have one bus doing the rounds and it takes longer than a half hour for it to make the round trip.  And we had to make sure that one of the guys got to the con as soon as possiable since he was the one running the booth I was working for.  Lucky a Shuttle came by that had room for one more person so we were able to get him on the Shuttle.  Than it came down to Casey and I finding away... the bus finally showed up and we ended up taking that into town.

Once we got to the convention center I introduced Casey to Gavin Hignight, writer for episodes "All Hallows Thieves" and "Prodigal Son".  He's working one of the booths here at the convention.  After introuding him I bumped into  Pichu987, so we got to say hi for a few minutes.  Though Casey and I was late getting there so we wanted to get straight over to the booth and start working.  So I asked them to walk and talk, but they were going the other direction so we decided to catch each other later.   Casey and I got straight over to the booth and started working right away.  Sales was going good at the time, Saturday normally is a busy day at conventions.

I stayed around the booth working till about noon, I got permission to go to the Outtakes Panel with Tom Wayland and Michael S.  This is when I realized my tripod is missing, I believe I lost it on the BUS!  It was the last run for the bus that day, so there's a chance they might of found it though we haven't got to check back in yet with the guy we called yesterday to check on this.  (Hopefully we can check up on this today)  So I had to hold the camera for the full panel.  At the Outtake panel I got to see Shredder as he showed up and set up his tripod (oh how do I miss mine).  Mike was late, so I picked on him when he came in  Angel   Than we got to see the outtakes that they brought to show us.

After the panel I went back to the booth and worked more.  It was all about selling the shirts for me, since I know more about the shirts than the DVDs at the booth.  Though I did help in DVD sales when ever I could.  It kept pretty busy, which made me glad I was on the inside of the booth, keep people from touching my evil arm.  I got to go to one more panel, the FUNimation panel.  I thought there'd be some VAs at this panel, but it was a sales panel showing us all the upcoming FUNimation DVDs.  Shredder was here for this as well.

After the panel we went by Go Comi! and Shredder got to meet David Wise, we went off to the side and he did an interview with him.  (I'm sorry Shredder, but I haven't got to check my video of the interview yet, but I don't see any reason why the sound wouldn't work on mine, I'll get a copy to you).  That was a lot of fun, learned some new info on the Turtles, though I'll let that be released in what ever forum Shredder ends up useing.  After the interview I went back and to the booth and worked it the rest of the evening.  Pichu and company came by to say hi for a bit while I was working, other than that it wasn't too eventful of an evening.  Came back here, went to McDonalds than got back here again and crashed around 1am.

More updates when we get back today!

Shredder I really wish you could make it, it's always good to see ya.  I'll try to give Mike the email address, though he's not one who really emails anyone.  Easier to send what you want to give him to either NYAV Post or 4Kids.

Sunday morning I got up around 7am again and wrote the Saturday review Wink  Than it seemed like a bit of hanging around the room before going to the convention center, though we were able to catch a bus to the convention center right away when we went down stairs, that's a first no waiting for it.  Once we got to the convention center I stopped at one of the first booths there to say hi to Gavin and got him to sign my Season 4 DVD cover Happy/Smile  Yay I swung by and peeked at Go Comi but David wasn't in yet, so I went over to the booth I was working.  I helped with a few sales, go t-shirts Wink before going to try and find breakfast.

Mission: Not to spend too much money
Mission was a failure!

I first went by the food court, only thing open - Chinese - anyone who knows me, knows I'm not a huge fan of chinese all I really eat there is egg drop soup and I'm very picky at where I get it from cause I've had more bad tastes than good.  So when I'm super hungry like I was, I'm not experimental.  So I  decided to go for the Waffles and Smoothie.... One Waffle two toppings $7 and one Smoothie $6!  Though cash only and I didn't have the cash on me.  So I went on the hunt to find the ATM machine!  Find it, wait in line, and than get declined when I try to withdrawal money.  I have MORE than enough in my account for what I'm asking, so I try a second time and it fails again.  Third try I do different, first I checked the balance sure enough the amount I knew was in there was marked in there than instead of putting in fast cash I went the long rout around to get the money out and it worked.  yay!  Than came the line for the Waffle... I felt bad cause it was taking me so long just to go grab some food!   I got a Strawberry and Ice Cream Waffle than a strawberry and banana Smoothie.  Than went straight back to the booth.  I ate my food as fast as I could and got back to selling.

I was also getting some art from Dave Simons who was a story board artist for the original TMNT series worked on episodes like "New York's Shinest" and worked on one episode for 4Kids TMNT, the first episode.  Though he wasn't in yet, so I mainly hung out at the booth for a bit here doing sales.  The sales were going easy for me, cause people seem to be in the "I'm here to buy" mood.  And we had good product, with DVD box sets that are hard to find and a lot of good T-Shirts.  I talked with a lot of girls at the convention and handed out a lot of cards for TMNT-L.  Some for TMNT fans and others for people to have help looking for stuff like - convention information to meet their favorite voice actors.  One of which really wants to meet Vic, so I'm going to show her how I look up convention information for TMNT-L Happy/Smile

Oh and I met R2s Cousin!  That was funny, cause she was telling me to go onto DA and search up R2 and how she's a Raphael fan.  I blinked... "R2?! I know her!"  She seemed surprised and I mentioned how I've met R2 at Anime Next and know here here online Happy/Smile  What a small world eh?

I did some walking around here and there to make sure I said good bye to people like Go Comi! I got to say good bye to David Happy/Smile  Though earlier than I excepted I thought I'd be able to make it back one more time before they left but I was wrong.  I also stopped by the Kappa Mikey booth and asked if Mike's around, he was doing a panel at that time!  A contest to become a voice actor (I would never enter this type of contest on a Sunday at a convention!  My throat is way too cracked!!).  So I went and told Casey I was going to run to that panel.  I caught only the second half of it, but it was good and they got some great talent up there trying out!  The one who won really deserved it.  This is when I saw Veronica was really there which made me happy.  After the panel I said hi to her real quick.

I noticed Dark Angel hanging around, so I went to try and talk to her but she said she was working.  I asked for a chance to be able to talk, hoping we could get to know each other a little better.  Though she said she'd stop by the booth at some point, I guess she didn't get the chance.  Maybe another con we'll get a chance.

I went back to the booth for 10 minutes to work, before the next panel started up which had Veronica and Rachel in it along with another VA, Jamie.   This was mainly a Q&A panel, and than they gave away some free Slayer Sample DVDs.  I than back to the booth for the rest of the show, I got to meet up with Dave Simons and get the art work I was buying, he was happy cause he got to check out the convention this time around and usually he doesn't get to.  We stayed open till the con was closed and than started to pack up.

When I felt the cold air come into the dealer room I got concerned... but kept pushing myself.  I realized I was slowing down and even went down to my knees a few times.  I was hoping I wouldn't have to really stop working I wanted to be there as help for the guys with the booth, there's only Casey and the owner there to do this.  I packed a lot of the DVDs for the shelves into boxes.  But after too much cold my body gave up... I sat on the inside of the booth and just started to daze out from the pain, I couldn't fight it any longer.  When Casey realized this he dropped food in front of me, got me my coat.  Than he helped me into a chair, though realized that it'd only get worse if I stayed here and got me up taking me out of the dealer room.  I heard voices but didn't see the faces of the people he was talking to... trying to find me somewhere warm.

One guy was on a go cart or something and had me sit down on it to give me a ride to some place warm.  This had it's good and bad points for me.  Good: Hurt worse to try and walk or move any part of my body.   Bad: Wind hitting the back of me (since I was riding backwards).  Good: Smooth rides no bumps.   Casey came with and went into a room to ask if I could sit in the room, it was the Show Room.  There was a handful of people in there and they said yes.

When I went in I was hurting so bad, I didn't really like being seen like that.  I'm not a big fan of any special treatment when I'm in pain... I know it'll pass and I don't want to make a big deal about something that's going to hurt no matter what I do.  I sat down in a chair and they started to offer me stuff, all I asked for was some water so they gave me a bottle water.  Casey went back to help finish with the booth.

The person I was talking to name is Peter, and he's head of programming at the convention.  So we started to have some interesting talks... it helped get me to think more and start looking around.  And it was warmer so things did lighten up a little bit, though it took me over two hours before I even felt safe to stand up.   In time Peter and the others in the room all left for the night, and I was in the room alone for a long time.  I started to call people, to have someone to talk to.  Anytime I tried to get near the door and felt the cold from the dealer room blowing this way it got me to go back to the seat.  The reason the dealer room got so cold was because they opened the bay doors so that's all outside air coming in and I don't take well to that at all.

My phone ended up dieing, though Casey did bring my lap top at some point the only thing I could do was watch my own videos and play games.  Since the internet there was $5 an hour and I didn't know if I was even going to be there another hour.  When he first brought it, I could of used it if I knew.  We were the last ones out of the buildings and we had to leave Casey behind and to do a second trip back there to pick up the rest of their stuff.  I didn't get back to the room till around midnight.  Signed on for a little bit than took a hot bath to try and help with the pain and went to sleep as soon as my body allowed me.

I will post pictures from the con as soon as I can Happy/Smile

See, this is where I fail at these cons.  When I saw you go down on Saturday, I felt so guilty just standing there doing nothing, but there where two reasons for that.  1 - I know you can handle it best on your own and 2 - I didn't want to accidentally touch it again.

But it just feels so awkward standing there with people watching, and I don't go to help as you fall down on the floor...  As stupid as this sounds, have you ever thought of getting a 'Jazzy'?  You might be able to modify it so you could make some kind of plastic enclosure for your arm.  This way if people bump into it, the plastic might help it a bit.  Plus you won't get so tired during the day.

Also, I sent off a question to a local DJ who has had more surgery's for back injury than anyone I've ever met, so he would know the latest pain medications.  I sent him an email asking if the top of the line fancy NY  Doctors know anything new you might be able to try and it'll be interesting to see if he replies.  There's got to be SOMETHING out there that can kill the pain for 12 hours or so yet still leave fealing in there.

I'm sorry, but I don't think a scooter of any type is what I want.  I'll use it at stores, but not at a con.  Way too much in the way, wouldn't be able to fit in areas I may want to check out and leaving alone would be a bad idea if I want to walk through a skinny area like what they had for the Artist alley table at NYAF... so that's not a road I want to take with this.

Though I would like some pain relief my doctors are working with me on an answer for it, it's Worker Comp that is screwing me over.  There is a surgery my doctors want me to have which involves two implants put on my spine.  Which would block the pain from getting to my head.   Though Worker comp keeps getting in the way with anything we try to do.  And you've seen the results of this, no help = more pain to come.

I don't like being a bother to anyone, and I understand how bad it feels to see someone you care about in pain and not be able to do anything about it.  At least I want people to take ease in a few things 1. It'll pass and I'll be up and about again and 2. This pain won't kill me.   So it's not like being around someone with asthma who can't breath and there's nothing you can do.

Though I can't just hide away because of this pain, and I won't.  I need to still be able to get out and breath... otherwise I'm not living and I wouldn't be able to take that.

well, I 'm glad to see there are things that can be done without totally cutting of all feeling to it.    MAybe one day they'll come up with nanoprobes that will make any operation cheap and easy Happy/Smile.

Glad to see things where otherwise fun on Sunday.  I was going to ask the writer if he had a website or blog.  seemed like a very nice guy, but there was so much to take in, that I forgot to head back to his booth for a short interview Happy/Smile.

Wow, that picture turned out less lighted than it looked on the camera.  I thought it was going to be way to washed out..

One of these days I'll be around to meet Veronica again.  I only got to see her once..

Did the audio on the David Wise thingy come out hearable?

Oh, and I am SO glad the NY CC is going to be in April.  Much warmer weather.  And NYAF is rumored for September next year...

*ROFL* The pictures make it look like we're leaping out of a dark alley.

There were five of us (one didn't come 'til later) representing the Bhujerban Notoriety Squad (www.notorietysquad.com). You can find us again at Anime Boston in March, where a larger group of us will all be cosplaying Link from Legend of Zelda.
*End Gratuitous Cosplay Plug*

Anyway, this was my first con, so I can't really say whether it was good or not. Possibly my favorite part of the day was loitering on subway platforms. It was very thematic. (No news reporters were harmed in the execution of this cosplay.)
