Sick

What a New Years so far.... I don't know how to describe how rough this year is starting off and it isn't the normal problems for me, it's a cold!   I came down sick on New Years Eve and it won't let go of me.  Now my mom, sister, and dad all have this as well!   It's a head cold, not really a sore throat but a horrible cough, stuffed nose, headaches... the cough is the worse, it's down into the chest.  And when I cough, it hurts my arm!  Sends shooting pain all the way through it!   Monday will be 3 weeks of this torture!   I want it to end.

I'll be Honest, it's because this cold that there hasn't been a newsletter, that my updates in the TV area has slowed down, and those of you who RP with me realize I haven't been RPing.  When I think I'm starting to feel better, a coughing attack happens and I'm right back down in the dumps of pain and just plain sickness.

These last few days have been so bad, really it started yesterday to get this bad.  It was cold, I knew that... though still went out, took two pain pills before even leaving the house.  Just to go to the movies, Miki is into Sweeney Todd and wants to see it so many times at the theater so we went twice yesterday (Only $3.25 for the tickets!).  Just being in the theater the pain was attacking me, I remember heading to the second showing and just dropping down to my knees in the lobby because of sharp shooting pain, I was happy I didn't drop my drink which I was carrying in my left hand.

The pain never let up, when I got home I took more pain pills and tried as hard as I could to stay warm.  The night was hard, and sleeping was something I just couldn't do easy...  today hasn't been much different.  I just took a hot bath and the pain level is down a little, let's see how long it stays down... I want this stupid illness to end, the winter is hard enough with my arm the way it is.

I'm off to curl up in a blanket for a bit, the weather here is under 20... so if I want the pain level to not go back up, must stay warm.  I'll still be lurking around, and will pick back up on my normal updates and such as soon as I can.

Geezum, Mikey.  You've had this cold almost TOO long.  Not good.

Weird, but I got mine the same time you did, only I managed to kick it off after about a week or so.  Everyone at work has had it, some had relapses.  My family's had it.....but they got rid of it too, after about a week.

Look, not to play doctor here, but this is what me and my bunch did when this rotten thing reared it's head.  From great grandma to the tiniest tyke.....we flushed our systems.  You drink as much 'good stuff' as you possibly can, as often as you can.
That means cranberry juice, clean water, and yes Mikey, pau d' arco tea.  The tea is probably the most important thing. Sip it all day long.
We also popped an Airborne tablet twice a day.....dissolved in water first.....but then again, one in the mouth straight might be a diverting experience. lol
And knock the running around off.  If you can get a whole day and night in sleeping, your body will repay you kindly.
Keep your breathing passages cleared out.  You might have to take some over the counter stuff, like Robitussin to combat the mucus and cough that comes with this monster cold.
Kill the mucus!  Because it breeds!!!  Kill, and be well.  >Happy/Smile

Okay.  Enough from me.  Nurse Ninjara signing off.

Eesh...totally feel ya...this is the first weekend I've been mostly pain/suffering free since the year started, too...between the tendonitis in both my hands, sprained/strained/whatever back, nasty lung/sinus thing and hypothermia...I want summer back. Pah!
