I thought I would go ahead and start this!!

I arrived at Katsucon on Saturday around 11:30am. I went into the bathroom and finished putting on my L costume. After getting my badge with my mom and cousin, we went straight into the dealer's room! I bought 2 gifts for my best friend Becky since she was not able to come to cheer her up. I also bought me a few Death Note items Love. Sadly my reception on my phone sucked so I couldn't get Ivey's calls. Finally I was able to meet up with her outside the panel. Mike couldn't talk at the panel because he had a sore throat. Ivey surprised me with an awesome gift! She got me an autograph from the man who voices Tatsu...it made it 20 times cooler because he also voices the detective in Paranoia Agent AND some characters from Texhnolyze!! Thank you, Ivey!! You NEED to watch that anime! Seriously! I said hello to Fae and Crittle.

I went up to Ivey's hotel room to see her awesome suite! There was some kind of weird protest going on in a neighborhood nearby but we couldn't make what they were protesting against. Ivey and I were excitedly talking about NM! Love GREAT SHOW! She said she's going to show me her scripts that she has!! *can't wait*

Ate lunch at the hotel. It was fun because 2 Misas walked up to me while I was getting my food and wanted to talk to me LOL.

AFter lunch, we went to the dealer's room to shop again! I finished up spending the rest of my money. Ran into Ivey and the others again, while we were talking, 5 random girls came up to me and asked me to hug them LOL. It was great!

Finally, we left. My feet were killing me! Came home with a GREAT surprise! My NM DVD came in!!! It wasn't suppose to be in till Tuesday! I can't wait to watch it!! I had a GREAT time!! Really cheered me up from all my home crap and work crap!!

*currently suffering from a nearly 103 degree fever, aches, chills, and gut-wrenching cough* I can totally sympathize. Poor guy.  Sad/Down I wish a sore throat was all I had right now.  Sick

Anyway, sounds like a nice start at the con for you.

We left Wednesday night/ Thursday Morning around 2am for the trip.  Miki and I knew our goal was to try and get our hotel in Baltimore and was hoping to do so before dark.  The drive was long, so when we reached Crittle's neck of the woods it was time for a break.  I went up and picked Crittle up and went for lunch.  We got food at Pizza Hut where OMG works, so we sat back and talked.  Longer visit than I planned but it was a lot of fun.  After we left Crittle we went straight to our hotel room in Baltimore and checked in.

We first got room 237 though when we got in there we found everything was broken, the fridge, tv, and there were stains on things ya just don't want to know about.  So we complained and got moved to room 239, which is a lot cleaner room and the TV works, yay!!!!  We rested there till it was time to get Fae... than circled the air port a few times found the cell phone parking lot and waited there, she was a little late but not by long because of a flight delay.  We came back to the hotel and crashed for the night.

Breakfast on Friday morning was the freebie here at the hotel, it wasn't the best but it was free so we got some food in us.  It took us a lot longer to get out of here than I was hoping, as we packed up the car.  Than came the drive into DC NOT FUN, I didn't like all the stops and goes we went through getting there.... US 50 was like a parking lot.  I made a wrong turn finally and it brought us a lot faster routs (no traffic) and got us closer to the hotel.  Crittle was waiting for us there.  The parking lot was full at the hotel, though I held up the handy capped and asked if there's anywhere near by where we could park and they let us in.   To no surprise really, the lot wasn't really full just looked full... but we got a good parking spot in the garage.  We checked into our room, got our stuff and went up stairs to a nice room.   Than came the challage of getting our badges.  I had an email with where to pick up the badges but we didn't have internet so I couldn't get to the email!   So it took us half the day to find our badges.

Once we got our badges we had to race to the autograph session, where we got to see Antimere Robinson, Mike Sinterniklaas, and Greg Ayres.  I got a handful of my DVD covers signed by Mike.  Antimere designed the Samurai Seven Boxset so I got him to sign that.   And I got Greg to sign the Samurai Seven Box set and my Samurai Seven Wall Scroll (those who come over, it's that nice one that hangs in my hall way Happy/Smile ).  We talked for a little bit, I mentioned to Mike that I'm going to have my surgery.  After the autograph session we went up stairs for a little bit.  We had a concert to go to that night.  So the goal was getting food, we decided on Domino's.  Gathering money together for the food we called and ordered for delievery... after waiting over a half hour in the lobby we called them to find out what's going on and they said they don't deliever, we cancelled that order since we had NO clue where Domino's was, and ordered from Pizza Hut instead.  Yay food.  After eatting it was concert time.

I video taped it like I normally do, though while video taping Fae, Miki, Desy (Miki's friend who was with us) and Crittle started to bap a balloon back and forth at each other.  So I started to play with them - yay for tripods! -  We did that through most of the concerts (I will share pictures).

After the show we came up stairs and crashed.

Wow your first hotel sounded terrible! I'm glad you got to change rooms! I remember you said you were changing hotel rooms when I was chatting with you online!

Well for services the first hotel (also last nights hotel) offered more.  Free internet, Free parking (I'll get into that a little later), and Free Breakfast... all of which cost money at the nice looking hotel.  So both had their good and bad things.

Next review will come when I'm back on my laptop, right now I'm borrowing a friends cause I'm 1. Too lazy to get it from the car. 2. To sore to get to deep into writing anything.

Tonight hopefully will have a hotel up near Gettysburg, though still in the Baltimore area right now.

Yeah, I don't do that with hotels so I did not have internet in the fancy hotel (unless we held our computers up to the window and got internet from a neighboring hotel or something).  Once I get Sprint Broadband for my laptop I won't have to worry about that.  Though I won't even be looking into that till maybe next year.

And my review of the trip to Katsucon Happy/Smile

The actual start of the trip out here to D.C. was on Valentines day. Left at 12pm PST from Portland, Oregon and was sent out to the Chicago Ohara aiport. The first part of the flight was long and the cabin air pressure was not helping my poor head. By the time I got to Chicago I was not feeling good. I thought that my blood sugar was too high but at the same time I was really hungry. I gave into the urge and got some food then checked my blood sugar. Turns out I needed the food, my blood sugar was 44. Good thing I got the food. I went to eat at the gate for my plane only to find out that I still had over an hour to wait. The plane was delayed by 30 mins for some reason. Not sure why, but oh well. There was some nice people there that I was able to talk to and I showed off baby pictures.

The next flight to D.C. was really nice. I had no one sitting by me in the seats so I got to stretch out once the seat belt sign turned off. I was really happy for it specially since my head was still pounding. Towards the end of the flight my head was feeling much better and I was so ready for the plane to land.

I got my bag and met Ivey out in the parking lot and we went to the hotel we were staying at for the night. Well we headed that way cept on the way back we got a little lost. The girls got directions to the airport but not how to get back. Took us a few mins and turns and help with Becky on the phone with Miki, but we made it back. It's an alright hotel but it'll do for the night.

Next day we got the car packed up as quickly as possible and headed out to the OmniShore hotel. Now this I was excited about. A suite and it not needing to be paid for. At least by any of us. Very Happy/Big Grin We get there and first thing we see for parking is that the entire lot is full. Ack! Not good. We talked to one of the valet people though and he let us in, saying there was one spot left. Heh, we got in and saw a couple of spots available. They prolly put the sign up to keep the parking lot from being congested.

We get in and were going to get our badges first but decide to get our roon keys and put our luggage away. I was glad to find the room had a fridge. It was also very spacious and had a balcony! There was one of the wide flat panel TV's in there too and a walk in closet. Very, very nice. I appreciated it even more after seeing the sign on the door for the prices of the room. $499 a night plus $50 extra a night per person. Yeouch! But we weren't paying that, woo!

Now that our stuff was put away we went down and tried to figure out where to get our badges. Normally we'd go to pre-reg but Ivey was told not to go there. So we went to con ops and they told us to go to Pre-reg. *Face palms* We head back over there and get in line. We all went up to the desk together when it was out turn and they couldn't find any of us in the system. Oy! They called some one over and he was going to double check something about making sure that Ivey was the winner for last years raffle until he heard that we were able to get into the hotel room okay. At that point he told to guy just to let us have our badges. Now don't be fooled about how simple this sounds. It took us half the day to get them.

One of the plans for Friday was to get to Mike's autograph line, say hi and hey while we're at it get a few autographs. I had the Leo ninja turtle bandana that has the plastic face piece and says stuff in the voice of the turtles. When we went to get in line I decided I would wear it on my forehead, since it wouldn't fit properly over my eyes, then I could show I to Mike and see what he said. Crittle and I did run up real quick to wave hi then went back in line to wait our turn. We were about three people away when he spots us again, smiles then points to the bandana saying he has one but it's still in it's box in 'Mint condition'. The betteries in his were way dead, I am not surprised since I had to replace my betteries, so he wanted to play with mine. By then I had taken it off and handed it over to him so he could play with it. My forhead ached and I had a slight soreness right in the middle cause of that thing. Oww...

Mike chatted with Ivey, Crittle, Miki and I for a few minutes.. I think Desi was there too. Hard to remember right now.. We got our stuffed signed and told Mike that we would catch him later. Off the top of my head I don't recall exactly what panels we did... Friday was a little bit of a slow day. We did go to Eyeshines concert and ended up playing a volly balloon ball game. That was a blast. We were really close to the speaker though and the bass or prolly just how loud it was started to be way too painful so I had to sit out the last few minutes of the concert. Of course after I step out Mike found the group. Razz I am so going to bring earplugs next time I go to a con.

We were heading back to our room, all so very tired. On the way I noticed there was a guy behind us with black hair. I didn't look all that well so I didn't notice anything. I went to shoo Crittle to the same side as Ivey so he could pass us. He says 'Oh don't worry about it, I'm too tired to walk any faster.' Deep voice. We get to our room and he's still behind us. As Ivey and Crittle go in, he passes and goes to the room right next to ours. Now I get a good look at his outfit. All in black and he had a book. Beind nosey I went over and said, 'Sorry but I'm nosy, what does your book say?' He lets me see and it says Defense Against the Dark arts. I blink and look at him again and question 'Severus..?' He grins and holds up a wand, the tip lights up. I go totally fan girlish, hopping up and down doing a small excited clap like motion while going, "Oh my gosh! I love you!" He laughs and says something then holds his arms out for a hug. Of course I hug him. I didn't get a picture though because we were all so tired. But I was hoping I'd see him the next day at the con so I could get his pic.

Saturday we started off by relaxing for a little bit before heading out to say hi to Misty, she showed up at the Con and then Rakka showed up too. We all hung out for a little bit before the two went there own way. One of the panels we wanted to attend was rescheduled for later because Mike lost his voice! Poor guy. All the staff and everyone was trying to keep Mike watered down with honey and tea and keep him from talking in hopes of restoring his voice faster. Later in the evening it was doing a bit better so he was able to do his panels. He did skip out on Guest Uncensored, but I don't blame him on that. It was late and better to try and save his voice.

During the day I'm telling Ivey I hope I see the Severus cosplayer again and that I would so love to see someone dressed up as Lucius. That I would totally fall over for. As long as he's a good cosplayer that is. Once again we're heading back to our room and this guy with white blond hair, a black cloak with the snakes Lucius has on his cloak and the cane, Lucius cane is seen coming towards us. It's the same guy!!!! He stops recognizing me and I go all fangirly again, lol. First he quotes Lucius from the second movie on what he said to Ginny. Totally got it right. He hugs me again and says he was thinking of me all night long and that I made it 'hard' for him to sleep. He was joking though... at least I think he was... so I was totally cracking up. I got a couple pictures taken with him on Ivey's camera (I need those copies!!!) Then afterwards he kissed me! I was in lala land for a little while, stupid grin on my face. I told my hubby about him and he's all laughing at how silly I'm being.

Sunday the only panel we went to was closing ceremonies. We did go to see Mike again in the autograph line but he wasn't there. I was so bummed cause I had to leave at 330 to get to the airport to head back home. So I didn't think I was going to get a chance to say bye to him. Well, we're outside the closing ceremony room at about 315 when lo and behold, here comes Mike! I was going to get to say bye to him after all! Yay! He was coming to meet up with us so he can talk to Crittle about what banner he liked the best for a website she runs for him and to just say hi. At first he said Hi to Crittle's son who was very excited to meet Mike but also very shy at the same time. We had a bunch of pictures taken with Mike's camera, my camera, Ivey's camera... and other people's cameras, lol.

Miki had done a picture for Mike which was also going to be the prize for the banner Mike picked for his website. Problem was we needed a way to print it out. A guy who was there said he had a really good printer in his room and would do it, so Miki went with him while we all just sat and visited for a moment. I was telling Mike about my baby and hubby and he was wondering why they didn't come. I told him it was too exspensive for all of us to fly out specially since it was Washington State we were flying out from. He winced and nodded in understanding. We then talked of cons and he was wondering what next con I would be going to. Sadly I said I didn't know because of exspense and that my next trip I definately wanted hubby and baby to come with me.

I made mention of a con that is run in Seattle, Saku-con I believe it is called, and he told me that he would love to go to that con cause he heard that it's run well, but he's never got an invite. I told him that I would contact them and make sure they know that he would definitely love to go to that con. First thing I did yesterday was send them an e-mail to let them know of Mike's interest. It's in March though so he might not make it for this year. There is Kumoricon as well here in Portland, Oregon. So I sent them an e-mail too to invite Mike. We'll see how it goes.

At the con we're still waiting for Miki but time has passed for when it is time for me to go. It was now 4pm. I gave Mike another hug and told him that I was happy I got to see him and to take care of his voice. Ivey and I rushed to the car to find... Crittle's suitcase is in on the drivers seat! Her boyfriend came out to get the suitcase and we were off to the airport. I was nervous that I might miss my flight because of increased security at the airport and I would be arriving at 4ish instead of four. Heh... I actually got to the airport at 505. I gave Ivey a hand/hug cause we didn't even have time to let her get out of the car, grabbed my bags and ran into the airport. The ticket counter I got right up to the counter, phew, so that went through alright. Security was my worry, because if it was busy I was screwed. Time now was 515 and according to my ticket the plane is now boarding.

At security it wasn't busy! Woot! I went right threw.... only to have to wait as they inspected my book bag. I left two water bottles in it and a bag of ice in with my insulan. *Sigh* I told them to obviously keep or toss those, whatever, and then booked it to my gate. As I thought they were boarding but that's okay. Means the plane didn't leave yet. I got on and there was some one in the seat by the window but the middle seat was empty. So we had extra room. With a four hour flight I liked that. My stop this time was in Denver, Colorado. First the sign said the plane was on time but then it was ten minutes late. That's okay I can deal with that. We are waiting to board when the gate alarm goes off. Something in the tunnel passage was off. Took them a few minutes to get it to stop. Oy!

We then go on boarding and get seated in a crowded plane. What is it with people going to Portland, Oregon all the time I have no idea. But at least it was only a 2 and a half hour flight. We're on the plane and waiting... and waiting.. and waiting... Finally I get up wanting to stretch and spoke with the flight attendents only to find the reason we haven't left yet is because we are waiting for the drinks. Took them an hour to get us those drinks. A woman on the plane started to cry and I thought she was going to flip, so I ran up front to get the flight attendent so he could make sure she was okay. Later I find out it was because her father had passed away earlier and that she had two hours to get home to see her mom before her mother might pass. Hell, if I had known that I would have lead a revolt or something to say leave with out the drinks. We had some water, we all would have been fine.

The plane was suppose to arrive at 1037 but we didn't get there till midnight. Then we had to wait a while for our bags to come out of the baggage claim. It took them a while. So after getting my bag and heading out of the airport, I didn't get home till almost one am. I tossed my stuff down and just crashed, after seeing my baby girl. I was soo tired.

I hope that woman made it to see her mom.

Overall the trip was a lot of fun! I'm talking to hubby about heading to Con's that are closer in this area, get Kira use to it, and look into going to an East coast con sometime, all of us. Happy/Smile I think that will be a blast!

We woke up and started to get ready.  Misty gave me a call so I went down stairs to meet up with her mom and her.  We decided to go up to the room while Misty's mom was in line.  Though as soon as we got to the room her mom was already calling that she was next in line so we had to go right back down stairs.

Kazari called me and let me know that she was here too though was going to get into her costume.  So I'd see her afterwards.  The idea was to go to a panel in "Live 1" which was "Voice Acting in America".   We went there and to our surprise there was a note saying the panel switched times to later that evening.  When we got there, we found Raka in that area, waiting for us.  Didn't know he was coming, it was good seeing him again.  Happy/Smile  We decided to use this bit of time to get lunch and went to McDonalds.   While there Kaz called me saying she was in costume, I told her I'd see her when I get back and that the panel was moved.  Than my sister called me saying that Michael was in the panel.  As soon as we got our food we went straight to the convention.  I told Crittle and Fae to video tape the panel for me, I was going to find Kazari to let her know since she wasn't answering her phone.

I walked up and down the register line with no luck of finding Kazari than headed into the panel and sat down.  One of the Convention staffers came up to me and told me that Michael has lost his voice so if we were to talk with him to keep it brief so that it's easier on him.  I understood that, since I normally loose my voice at conventions.  I kept trying to get in touch with Kaz, though she was in the dealer room and her phone wasn't really working that well down there.  Finally I told her where we were and she came in, I went out in the hall to talk with her.  The panel that was going on was about people stealing anime from the internet with Greg Ayres and Tiffany Grant... Mike was in the room but sitting in the back... we decided we didn't need to finish the panel and went out to talk with Kaz for a bit.

Fae went down to the dealer room as I took Kaz up to our hotel room.  We had a lot of fun things to talk about, since we're both into "Death Note" and "The Next Mutation".  It was great seeing her, our biggest laugh was a surprise to us both though as there was a protest going down out side about a block from the convention.  We were 6 floors up, and could hear them down on the street.  Couldn't make out what they were saying, but it caught our attention.  It was in a neighborhood so that kind of surprised me, figured protests would take place in front of important buildings, not on side streets.  Kaz's mom and cousin was with her for this visit.  It was nice getting to meet them as well.  After a lot of laughs Kaz had to go so they could get a bite to eat.  Though I promised her next time we meet up I'll bring my Next Mutation scripts to show her.

After Kaz headed out, Fae, Crittle and I went down to the dealer room to walk around.  I was bad and got one wall scroll of "Death Note" I shouldn't have bought anything, though I didn't know how bad our money spot was.  While in the dealer room we met up with Raka and Misty for a bit, and even got to see Kaz while down there.  Kaz was getting "Death Note" Love by fellow fans.  Made me really miss the day of cosplaying (hopefully the surgery will fix this for me.)  She seemed to be having so much fun dressed up as L.  And she did a great job with her costume too.   After going around the dealer room Fae, Crittle and I went back up stairs and discussed dinner.  We decided on an Italian place down the street.

First we walked the wrong way, my fault... everyone followed me like I knew where I was going... than I called my sister and she told me where we to go... and we went the right way.   Sadly we came to the wrong Italian place and the food wasn't all that and a bag of chips, the price was too high and when we were paying Fae gave a 10% tip and the waiter said it wasn't enough... even got the Manager to try and tell us that we had to give a bigger tip... we said no and left.

We got back in time to go to the Voice Actors panel and sat through that.  Mike didn't talk much because of his voice and when the panel was done he left right away.  I felt bad for him because of it.  And Tiffany Grant was very cold through the panel, as there was a vent blowing cold air on her from above.

After this panel we went to our room to hang out again till it was time for the voice over panel.  Once we got there, before hand was an addition panel to be able to take part in the voice over panel... didn't know about that one.  Dark Angel was there, but she wasn't up for chatting with us when I tried to say hi to her.  We watched this panel of a show that NYAV post just recentlly dubbed, being dubbed by people picked from the crowd.  I would really love to show Mike the stuff from the A&G dubbing panel, I think he'd get a kick of how it was done.

Than we had another break before our last panel of the night.  The uncensored guest panel, Mike did not take part in this panel though he was there watching.  I think last years had more funny stuff to it, though there was mention of some of the stuff from last years.  This time it got stuck in the rot of "who would do who" and stuff like that, wasn't too interesting to me, but hey at least they were having fun.

After that panel we went back to our room.  I spent a lot of the evening getting things packed up.  Fae crashed, Crittle went to visit some friends in another room, and Desy crashed for the night.  It was 4am when I finally went to bed.

Sunday morning was all about packing up the room, and Miki finishing a drawing that would be the prize for Crittle's banner contest.  A very cool drawing, at this point and time we will not post it (the winner has first rights to see the drawing finished) when it arrives in the mail Wink  We got out of the room just in time for check out, though the drawing was not done.  So we went down to a screening Mike was doing and sat in there as Miki finished the drawing.  Crittle and Fae went to get something to eat.

Though we realized closing was going to start soon so when the drawing was done we put it on my flash drive so that we could find somewhere to get it printed up.  Though we were having no luck with this mission.  As Desy recorded closing for us, we searched,  Kinkos wasn't near by and doesn't print up fan art... no one in artist alley had a printer... at least no one that was left by time we got there....

Misty and Raka met up with us at closing and this was our good bye for the trip.  They offered for me to go out to eat with them after closing, though sadly I had to say no since I had to run Fae to the air port.  It was good seeing both of them at the convention.

At 3:30pm I was suppose to get Fae out of the building to head to the air port.  Though that was also our fast meet up time with Mike so that he could sign the drawing for the contest winner.  Yet we had nothing but the flash drive and my lap top with the drawing on it.  So when Mike showed up, I felt a bit sick that we didn't have the drawing done.  There was a few ideas tossed around, one of which is that Crittle gets it printed up and sends it to Mike to sign and he sends it back.  The other was Mike takes a copy with him and gets it printed up and sends it to Crittle.  The ideas were just flying between us.   Crittle got to introduce her son to Mike at this time, as both her son and OMG showed up a little bit earlier.

A photographer came over and wanted to take our pictures with Mike, so we agreed.  I've seen this guy around at many conventions, so I thought it was cool that he wanted our pics with Mike.  At this time I also wanted to show Mike the drawing, so I pulled it up on my computer and the photographer saw it and asked if we needed it printed.  We said yes, so Miki took my flash drive and went to get it printed.  Fae and I had to leave right than.

We got into the car and headed out... parking was $69!!!!!!  EVIL!   Will NEVER park there again!  EVER!   I got Fae to the air port just in time and headed back, but was confused on where to park.  So I pulled over and at a hotel and got on the web to check for free parking in DC, couldn't find anything useful.  Than got a call from Miki saying that there's parking on the street around there.   Mike had to go for a bit but came back at 6pm, and by time I got there Mike already said good bye to everyone.  Though I caught him at the elevator to say good bye real fast.  Than we left, taking Desy to her car at a parking garage I will use from now on ($5/weekdays and Free/weekends).  Than we went to Crittle, oh the disappointment of not getting to see the Kappa Mikey episode we were hoping for that night.   Sadness.

Went to the same hotel that we stayed at Thursday night, even got the SAME room as we had time so we were amused.

- There's more to this trip like going to DC, Gettysburg, and Hershey... do I review all of that trip in this topic and show pictures here or should I make another topic, let me know what you think. -
