New Question:
What is the latest you like to watch TV at night?

I prefer to turn the TV off at 1am, if there's something on I won't... I know me, the TV can remain on till I pass out at night.  Though if I can get the TV off by 1, at least at home, I can usually get to bed soon after.

I like staying up at night, but my mom likes to wake me up in the morning... which is why I like getting to bed before 2am Wink

BTW Crittle, I learned Mike S. wasn't at San D this year!  Miki did get to go the Venture Brother Panel, but I didn't get to hear anything about it yet.

Hehehe Yeah, he's good at being late.

New Question:
Are you known for being on time or late to events?

It depends with me, if I'm alone I'm known for being super early... but if I got others with me, I could be late depending on who it is.  If I got a meeting or an appointment I like to tell myself that it's set a half hour earlier than it is, so that I can get there a little early and not feel rushed.

New Question:
Have you ever bought a new car from a dealer ship?

As of yet, I have not.  But I do hope some day to be able to own a new car...

Wow, I've got a LOT to catch up on. *sweatdrop*

Been a busy month and August isn't looking much better. Uncle from California's here, so I've been spending time with him since we don't get to see him much. Fishing trip, Pow Wow, Laura Ingalls pageant, and now the craft show season is starting. *falls over*

Had a VERY stressful afternoon. Bad news involving a mentally ill neighbor of ours that I unfortunately can't talk too much about. Everyone involved's ok, but we're all very worried about him and very stressed as the poor man's been a longtime friend of the family. Needing to blow off steam, so I figured I'd pop on for a bit and catch up on missing answers.

1. What programs I still use after 15 years online...? Well, web browsers, though it switched from Netscape, then IE, now to Firefox. I haven't been on IRC, but I do still keep it on my system if I ever get time for it again and keep up my nicks. Or tried to.

I'm aware that I somehow managed to LOSE all of them to expiration between May and June when I was even busier than I am this month. I thought I'd kept up until I checked it a couple of weeks ago and found that they'd somehow expired. Got 'em all back, though, so WHEW!

I also have my old email program, Eudora, in use. Only check it once a week because my current ISP is a bit picky about emails I send and receive from. Some people have no problem getting through, others never get through. It's there, but rarely in use.

I also still have my text program and graphics programs, and the word processor program. The latter has changed names over the years, but is technically still the same thing, just updated. Hasn't changed much, just my time for things.

2. *sniff* No 7-11s here, so no, couldn't go.

3. TV shows are always eclectic for me. Hubby and I have been watching Ben 10 lately and regularly for new eps. Ghost Hunters/GHI is also one, and, ah, this is Thursday, so we also watch World's Dumbest on Tru TV.

Was Deadliest Warrior on Tuesdays, but the latest season just finished this week, so they're out of new eps for awhile. *sob*

Other shows it's either reruns, or the scheduling is so weird, we can't always catch the brand new eps on time.

4.  Cell phone doesn't get upgraded often. I'm on the family plan, which is under Dad's name, so my phone gets updated when his does. *shrug*

5. Eh, not really on any website the most these days. I check fanfiction, email, a little bit of news, but there's not really one website I'm on constantly with.

6. Latest I watch TV? 11-Midnight. Depends on what's on. I'm usually watching Forensic Files at that hour, but it depends on the episode and if I've seen it already or not. Fridays are usually the paranormal show night, so it depends on those shows and the episodes whether or not I'm up to watch or not. I'm usually in bed by midnight.

7. I'm almost always on time to events. Dad grilled punctuality into my head from a young age, so I'm rarely late unless I've had a brain fart or something unexpected happened to delay me.

8. New car? Nope. My original blue Lumina was bought from a relative who fixed up cars(has long since retired from doing that, though), and as that's a 15 year old car that was starting to finally wear out, I got my parents' green Oldsmobile Intrigue last year. THEY were the ones who bought the new car, a shiny red Impala. Went with them when they bought it, but no, I wasn't the one buying. I took over the old one from them 'cause I looove that car. Wink

New Question:
Would you travel these days without a laptop?

My normal answer is no, but I'm thinking when I do NYC Comic Con I will not bring my laptop, I'll use my cell phone instead.  I can get onto all of my main websites, chat programs, and everything from it.  And I know that week will be a lot of running around.

Depends on where I'm going.

If I'm going to, say, just the Cities(or as we've been taking up fishing this summer, Alexandria), someplace within driving distance, then I tend to bring the laptop. If the hotel TV is crappy(which can happen, depending on the hotel I'm in and I refuse to do PPV unless there's a movie on we really, really wanna see), I can pop in DVDs or watch things like Deadwood on my iTunes.

I can also work on Family Tree stuff or write, whatever strikes my mind, even upload vacation photos from my camera if the memory chips get full.

If I'm going further away to a place that requires flying, then no. I can go without my laptop if I need. It'd be just one more thing to take with and keep track of and I take vacations to de-stress, not worry about whether or not my data's been erased, damaged, or stolen. A camera and luggage is bad enough, not a laptop I couldn't afford to replace if anything happened to it that far away from home.

If I go without, then I just bring a good supply of pens and notebooks for writing and don't worry that much about TV. I can go without that, too, if where we're staying has crappy stations or leans more towards having the good stuff on PPV.

It all depends on where I'm going, how long I'm going, and what I plan to be doing that determines whether or not my laptop comes with. If it's too far a trip, too short of one, or I'm just not in the mood, I don't bother with it. *shrug*

I used to take my laptop to cons when I'd go, but I've stopped doing that reciently, being because if I need to contact people or wanna let my friends know something, I usually just twitter. I don't wanna pack things I really don't need and can live without for a weekend. If I plan on being gone LONGER than that, then I'll usually bring it along.

New Question:
Have you ever attended a meet up that was listed here on TMNT-L?  If so, was it only one or two of them or a lot of them?

I've been to so many meet ups, I always put my reviews up in the memory section of the forum.  I try to make it to as many events as I can, cause I enjoy meeting up with fellow fans.  My next event should be NYC Comic Con.

New Question:
Do you listen to a lot of music?

I don't normally, I was never a radio person... so the music I know is that of the people I grew up around.  So I love oldies, as that's what my parents and sister listened to the most.  Some friends have introduced me to other bands here or there, but it's not like I listen to a lot of music.

Yup, just not the radio. Parents tend to listen to boring news/talk radio, and the local music stations don't play enough of music to my taste, which can be pretty ecclectic.

As a kid, I had a lot of cassettes, even a couple records when I was really little(lol, yes, it was the 80s Razz ), then as a teen, lots of CDs, and now I'm pretty much glued to my iPod. There's very little I don't like. I can have Ozzy, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis all on the same iPod playlist, that's how strange my music tastes run. Wink

New Question:
What was the worse thing you've gone through with public trans?

There's many horror stories that could be told about public transporation, be it flying, bus, train, boat... ect... what ever it is... it's out there.

For me the worse (that I can think of off the top of my head) was being on a trolly in Toronto and some lady and a guy got into a fight.  They had to stop the Trolly and let everyone off to wait for the Police to get there... it was raining, and this trolly ride ended up making us late for the event.   Not the worse I've heard or know of, but the worse that's happened to me personally.... I may think of something later *shrug*

Worst thing I ever went through with any sort of public transportation has to be Turtle Con 2000, where we flew in to Detroit and our plane was stormed over to Saginaw. Sat on the tarmac for most of the afternoon into the evening, eating only a bag of peanuts the whole time. Once or twice we seemed to almost be ready to take off, only to return to waiting.

Finally, they got us off the plane to the terminal, all tired and cranky, telling us that they'll get us hotels and we'll finish the flight the following day...at 5:00 AM. Tried desperately to call Ivey and her family to let them know we were stuck, but our cell phone was pretty much dead and we ran out of change trying the pay phones. I think eventually some nice fellow with a better phone let us call, so that did get taken care of, but we still sat around the terminal, waiting for transport out of there.

Bored and cranky and tired, I figured I'd go to the arcade and see if there was anything interesting there. Hadn't been there long before Mom came and told me there was a bus out front taking folks to the Detroit airport from Saginaw. Hauled some rear end, got on the bus. I slept most of the way, so I don't know how long it took us to make the drive.

Then at the Detroit airport, we hailed a taxi to take us to the hotel in Novi. Didn't arrive until about 1:30 am. The fellow that was at the front desk actually said; "Lord have mercy!" when we told him what we'd been through. Did get checked in finally, found Ivey, and I believe I dove into pizza and soda when we got there, I was so dang hungry from eating only a tiny bag of peanuts in the last 12 or so hours.

I can't think of anything worse that I've gone through with public transportation, though coming back home from our honeymoon came close. Never, EVER doing anything but direct flights ever again, at least in the States. Flight from Pittsburgh was late, making us RUN the entire way through the Detroit airport, just barely making our connecting flight home to Minneapolis. I actually broke down in tears for a few moments in relief when we made it to the gate and the attendants there told us to catch our breath before boarding, that they wouldn't let the flight leave without us.

Few bus and cab rides I've taken have been decent. Most of my flights have been decent, save those two above instances, and the couple of times I've taken the Hiawatha Light Rail line in the Cities has been good. Was only on a boat/ship once, crossing the English Channel, and the worst thing about that was light seasickness that was fixed with a Dramamine. *shrug*
