Well, Shred, there are probably people on here better qualified to say something, because they were actually there and witnessed it. Because truth be told, when all that went down I was on a flight en route to Japan.
Basically, it came across as a snub. He did not get the welcome and attention/treatment he was entitled to, and when he arrived at the door he was not recognized and was denied access.
Someone did eventually intervene, and he, and his wife and child, were allowed in.
Now, whether that happened by accident or by design, who knows?
Remember when I compared this relationship to marriage gone bad? Well, that's the best way I can describe it to you. It's a situation, that, no matter how much you may have cared, or liked the other person, it's doomed.
No matter what you do, things get messed up. And the harder you try to hold it together.....the worse it gets.
So, you know, when things get like that, it's time to let go.
The premiere, after hearing his family talk about it, it's just another comedy of errors in a long line of other black comedies surrounding these two.
Why it happened.....well, I'd like to think a key person that was in charge of things, got sick and wasn't there, and that explains why everything wasn't as it should have been....but that's me with the Pollyanna glasses on.

I feel bad for him that it happened that way. Because the Turtles came out of his head. He birthed them. He deserved that moment in his life with them.
And I feel Pete should have been there too. But, with fear of flying, that wasn't in the cards either.
Anyway, what's done is done.
He's moved on.
And if that blog from week 69 on Heavy Metal crosses your mind.....that's him being sarcastic.
The more I try to explain some of this stuff, the worse it sounds.
I think the stew's done, Shredder. Let's make dessert.
