Very sad to see, but people move on, I suppose.

But could they even give us fans a little bit of 'cake' by teaming up for the 25th anniversary? Come onnn, plleeassse.  Angel

That 25th anniversary had some bearing on the decision to throw in the TMNT towel.  That....and what happened around this time last year.  Movie premiere ring a bell?  Not a good scene.

So yeah, it's toast, Mindychan.  Neutral

Well, Shred, there are probably people on here better qualified to say something, because they were actually there and witnessed it.  Because truth be told, when all that went down I was on a flight en route to Japan.

Basically, it came across as a snub.  He did not get the welcome and attention/treatment he was entitled to, and when he arrived at the door he was not recognized and was denied access.

Someone did eventually intervene, and he, and his wife and child, were allowed in.

Now, whether that happened by accident or by design, who knows?

Remember when I compared this relationship to marriage gone bad?  Well, that's the best way I can describe it to you.  It's a situation, that, no matter how much you may have cared, or liked the other person, it's doomed.
No matter what you do, things get messed up.  And the harder you try to hold it together.....the worse it gets.

So, you know, when things get like that, it's time to let go.

The premiere, after hearing his family talk about it, it's just another comedy of errors in a long line of other black comedies surrounding these two.
Why it happened.....well, I'd like to think a key person that was in charge of things, got sick and wasn't there, and that explains why everything wasn't as it should have been....but that's me with the Pollyanna glasses on.  Wink

I feel bad for him that it happened that way.  Because the Turtles came out of his head.  He birthed them.  He deserved that moment in his life with them.

And I feel Pete should have been there too.  But, with fear of flying, that wasn't in the cards either.

   Anyway, what's done is done.

   He's moved on.

And if that blog from week 69 on Heavy Metal crosses your mind.....that's him being sarcastic.

The more I try to explain some of this stuff, the worse it sounds.

I think the stew's done, Shredder.  Let's make dessert. LOL

I dunno,...

Without knowing the whole story... If Kev just showed up, and no mirage or 4Kids guys where present, chances are no one in Japan even knew who the heck he was!

I don't want to get to much into this topic, sorry just feel its between them.

Though I will say that Kevin got tickets from Mirage, but had to ask for them.  He spoke a little about it at NYC Comic Con.

Shocked Nay, young Shredder.  You misunderstand.  The movie premiere Kevin attended was in Los Angeles, CA.

Japan wasn't having a TMNT premiere.  I was going there for other reasons.

Yeah.  You're right, Mike.  It was probably wrong to start talking about that crap in the first place.  Normally I don't bother.  So that's it from me on the subject.

It was the wishful thinking about the 25th anniversary that got me going.
I wish they could do something together, just like Mindychan was wishing.
But at this moment I don't see how that could happen unless a miracle was performed.

Well Kevin has distanced himself from the Turtles little by little over the years, so regardless of any dramatic happenings this wasn't a total surprise by any means.  To the fans though, this is a little disenchanting, however, no one will forget Kevin's contributions, ultimately, without him, there would be no TMNT.  To me they will always be Eastman and Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, just as the comic book title would read.
