Any other Sweeney Todd fans here on TMNT-L?  I'll admit when I first saw it, I wasn't really all that impressed and I can see why now, though to this day I have now seen Sweeney Todd 15 times in theaters.  I really do enjoy the music now, and think the art of this movie is GREAT!

My issues with the movies is not enough character growth on some of the main characters, and I would of liked to seen a bit more history of Sweeney and his Wife together.   Along with a follow up ending to where some of the other characters went after the events of this movie.

All in all though I really do like Sweeney Todd, it is out of the theaters in my area though the DVD will be released on April 1st, I have a feeling that it will be in my house that day as well.

Anyone else seen it?  If so what are your thoughts...  this post could be filled with Spoilers (I was careful not to do so in the first post) so if you have not seen the movie and don't like Spoilers I would not recommend going on with any of the replies in here, cause I'm sure some spoilers are going to be said.

Of course I liked it. It had Johnny Depp, why wouldn't I like it?? Wink

It wasn't my favorite movie or anything, but definitely worth watching and I'll probably buy it.

It was a Johnny Depp movie combined with a Harry Potter reunion. Wink

I enjoyed it

Hehehehe  yeah a lot of people seem to like having the Harry Potter actors in there Wink

Miki was reading reviews to me from people who are into the Musical.  I knew there was a lot that had to be cut out, though it sounds like some of the stuff cut out should of stayed in for some of the character growth.  Now I really want to go see the play sometime.

Well we picked up the DVD.

Costco has a great set, the Special Edition Movie DVD (which is also at Sam's Club), though it comes with the Making's book at Costco.  $33 dollars, for a $60 vaule!    Miki bought that book at Boarders for $40!!!  And now a $20 movie with a $40 book.  It's a great deal for any Sweeney Todd Fan.

Now about the special features.
The DVD is a two disk set, with a handful of makings of the movie on it.  Interviews and press meetings.  How they got the blood to spill out of the throat, to the costume design.  Though sadly my favorite features are not on this disk at all... no cut scenes and not one blooper.   It does have a lot of interesting things, like the story behind Sweeney Todd (true story or not?  You decide).  I now have places I'll like to visit if I make it to London.  I just really wish they put cut scenes in, cause we heard in other interview that these scenes were finished before Tim Burton realized they wouldn't fit into the movie... they should of made it on the DVD... *pout*
