You know I love the Monkees, Ivey!  I brought that Best of CD with me one time.  Davy was my fave due to the pleasantness to his singing voice, that, and I got a kick out of his animation self in a Scooby-Doo episode.  Personality-wise, I love Micky, he's hilarious, and I also find his singing voice incredibly awesome!  The way he hits those notes is astounding.  The other two, Mike and Peter, I really am not too familiar with, but they also have wonderful singing voices.  They're like the Beatles, they harmonized very well together.

Favorite song or songs would have to be ones I would jump to on an album without waiting for it to appear.  I really love "Shades of Gray," the harpsichord on "The Girl I Knew Somewhere" is killer, and of course can't go wrong with "I'm a Believer," "Pleasant Valley Sunday," "Daydream Believer" and "Last Train to Clarksville."  On occasion, if I hear "Listen to the Band," I'll get it horribly stuck in my head for hours on end!   LOL

Nesmith was the musical talent of the group. 'Listen To The Band' was my least favorite of his songs though. On top of that, he was the smart-anus of the show. Same reason I favored Raphael in the classic cartoon... Embarassed

Tork was no slouch in the music department, either. Mike even said that.  While Peter was not the best vocalist or writer, Mike considered him to be the better musican.

And there's something about a sarcastic Texan...what's not to like? Wink

I wasn't a devoted fan of these guys, but I did like them better than the Beatles(sorry, Raph!)

Peter was my favorite! I considered him the "Mikey" of the group because of his playful nature and outright crazyness!
I loved their parodies too! They were almost as good as the cartoons that came on back then.

I guess, "I'm a Believer" would be my favorite song, since "Shrek" resurrected it in the first movie and it's stuck in my head!  LOL
The episodes are a blur  to me now. I'll have to do some catching up on You Tube, or something.

Any ideas what the next pair of remastered Deluxe Edition CDs from Rhino will be? Since they've been going in release order so far, I'd expect "The Birds, The Bees & The Monkees" and "Head". But, somehow, I feel uncertain that they wouldn't just skip "Head". Why, I can't say... Also, if I have anything to say about it, they won't screw up the track-positioning this time around. You simply can't listen to the first four on shuffle play. Rolling Eyes
